It's really rare, I can't remember, too. Only Pelé, but he's out of this world.

Great to see Hernanes and Pirlo exchanging t-shirts after the game, too. Hernanes is a big fan of Pirlo, and I imagine he was glad with the opportunity.

Haha, thanks guys

Well, we could either laugh at the tragedy of it, or get angry, pop a vain and get a brain aneurism.

Good night all, and let's hope for better things to come.

Have Robinho unbeknown to us got down on Allegri's wife and already dirtied the linen within 2 mins? To me that seems the only reason why he was continually overlooked.

As much as I am doubting Allegri's ability to run this team, I must say that Leonardo was not exactly that much better at this stage of the season last year. Leonardo, as I remember, also tried to change things around but couldn't due to the lack of personnel. He eventually figured things out and we went on an amazing run in the league after the new year. I am hoping that Allegri is the same way. The fact of matter is, this team does not have any chemistry right now. If you watch the game, our players barely knew where to send their passes to. This chemistry is going to take some time to develop, especially since Ibrahimovic isn't exactly known as an instant chemistry type of player.

I also tend to agree with the poster who talked about the hierarchy within Milan. There is no reason that players like Pirlo, Seedorf and Gattusso has to play each and every single game. Matter of fact, those three guys should have been gone by now. And yet, there they are. No matter who we have as the coach, they are the starters. There has got to be something more than meets the eyes there.

On a side note, am I the only one who thinks Albertazzi and Merkel should be called up to the first team and inserted into the starting lineup right away? Albertazzi can play rotation LB while Merkel can take over Seedorf's spot. We need speed and those two kids can at least give us that. We need players who actually fights and that sure as hell isn't going to be Seedorf or Pirlo.

On another side note, since the opening day, Milan has not won a single match when I watch them play. So, I have decided to not watch the next game live to give the team a better chance at winning. It seems like a sacrifice I must make.

I think you're being too harsh on the players.
I really do feel that had we started the game with the players we ended with in the last 8 minutes, we probably would have:
(a) set up more chances to score (Ronnie, Ibra, Prince twice and Zambro all in the space of 5 minutes), and
(b) shored up our midfield for the entire match. (Prince hardly lost the ball, Flams actually WON the ball back, and you could totally see that the opponents were actually afraid of Flams, he never got harried even ONCE!)
(c) had even more ball posession without looking like we'd lose the ball at any minute (Ibra, Binho and Prince all tracked back. With Seedorf, and Flams all looking for the ball, who the hell needs Ronnie to track back at all?)

You could totally see when Flams and Binho came on, Lazio's mid to defence fell apart. There were too many players who they had to mark on the attack, and thats where our chances came from. Ronnie had WAY more space on his flank once Binho and Flams came on, because they couldn't just pull another man away from marking them when those two bursted forward.

Now why can't our coach see this at all? With those tweaks, we could have totally changed our team around by NOW, not like 1 month into the future.....

I'm totally disappointed with this dude. If Leo were here....... with these players at his disposal....... damn......

I agree with you about Merkel. From what I've seen from the kid he can contribute a lot to our midfield. Haven't really seen Albertazzi play, but we lack in that department and I can see no harm in giving him some minutes to see what he can offer

Thats not the point(be harsh on players) that I talked to Warro, Ryo...

It's Berlusca that loves to label our team as a side of Champions, when we always talked here about or old(and slow) midfield. I'm not a fan of Prince, but the guy is a BIG improvement over our actual Gattuso. Flamini only needs to calm down and proof to the coach he can play all game long, without risk a red card. But after that we are very thin, at least for my taste. We need more players for the mid...

I couldn't watch the match, but:

---Rino-----Pirlo-----Boateng---
------------Seedorf----------------
-------------------Dinho------------
---------Ibra------------------------

is not bad, IMO. I'll check the highlight to observe it.

12 years ago i was in San Siro to see Milan beat Lazio 2-1.
Gattuso was the MVP that day. I loved him that day and i still do.
But for the name of the motherloading god, things have changed, signor Allegri.

Today we were a tactical disaster, no question about it.

If we dont win vs Genoa things will get ugly. And we only have a couple of days to prepare after today's performance.
I still have faith, though. Because we are bloody Milan.
Dissapointment knocks early on our door this season.
I wont let it come in yet.

Goodnight to you all now.
I got to go all Indiana Jones and trace the last solid season of Andrea Pirlo.

Totally agree. Its sort of like what it was in Defence last season. Bar Nesta and Thiago, we had Kamikaze Kaladze, Semi-injured Bonera, Fully-injured Onyewu and now-retired Favalli. Today, we have Yepes and Papa, who, although may not be world-class, are at least less accident prone than the aformentioned handfull.

This season, its all about the midfield.

We've changed the tactics, and the mid needs to be dynamic, that means two box-to-boxes to compensate for the slow, deep-lying playmaker we use.
Flams and Prince are okay in my books, but Ambro is not good enough at passing the ball in tight spaces, Seedorf is prone to dribbling when his better option is to pass to a faster player, and Pirlo just isn't working out at the moment. Promoting Merkel and Strasser might actually help, but from what I remember in the pre-seasons, they're technically adept, but physically weak against opponents.
Pirlo can and needs to be swapped with Seedorf, who needs to be told to stay in midfield and not run around at all. We have no one to replace Flams or Prince if we play them both (Ambro, maybe, but he's injured :P)

We need two more box-to boxes, or Seedorf needs to start playing like he was 20 years old again....

"We don't need to run our own race with Inter. We need to keep on gathering as many points as possible. We are Milan and always need to win, but we are on the right path," he concluded.

Allegri, wow man shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on guys, Merkel is just 18. Not every player has a physique like Balotelli at that age. Isn't Pato and all his nagging injuries enough for us?

Buddy, if Messi could handle the physicalities of professional soccer at age 18, Merkel shouldn't have any problems.
