Thanks Aficio. You forgot writing Ambrosini in your previous post?

Onyewu, MArek and Yepes are set to leave Milan in january, with one CB coming in here: Sakho or Luiz, milannews...

I'd keep Nesta untill he cannot walk! There is no better Cb then Sandro, only if he is fit, and he looks ok. But if Lazio is ready to trade with Milan, they have Hernanes...

I went back to read some older pages in this topic, so perhaps a little too late, but I agree with you.

I would put it exactly that way. Yes the team played great, it was amazing team who'd won 4 titles instead of 2 in 5 years if there were any luck, but in 2007 Kaka was really a standout player. He was the star of 1/8 finals and semi finals and he was involved in both goals in the final.

But, if you'd ask me do I want him to come back, my answer is: No. Kaka's body evidently isn't OK. He isn't a half of fast player he was before. Of course he's still a great player, for me the most beautiful player to watch, but his main weapon always was speed and it was painful to watch that he can't take on a player like Ooijer anymore. Painful.

With him we would gain an always-injured player with high wages. It doesn't make sense to me.

I agree that a team need a super star to win the CL (Porto & Inter's star was Mourinho), but for the rest I don't think Kaka is that useless now.

Kaka's speed, or more exactly, his breakthrough skill was world best, and IMO, his longshot & one-on-one are world best, too. He has an instinct for goal, despite of not being a forward, in addition, his intelligence & football are also at the top. He can do what Seedorf can, even better.

I don't request Kaka but I don't play him down that low.

Imagine if the long term plan is:

-------------Ibra---Pato------------
----------------Ganso----------------
--------Flamini--Pirlo--Boateng--------
Antonini--T. Silva-D. Luiz--Ivanovic
---------------Amelia-----------------

Gone: Seedorf, Ronaldinho, Inzaghi, Onyewu, Jankulovski, Oddo

Subs: Robinho, Paloschi, Adiyiah, Jucilei, Merkel, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Nesta, Zambrotta, Abate, Sokratis

With these Fullbacks, we cannot push up too much, and I think Nesta should start until he simply can't anymore... Ronaldinho and Seedorf probably leaving this year with Inzaghi, I fully expect that...

* Interesting also that without Janku, we don't have 1 lefty in the team..

I somehow doubt Seedorf will leave, if management were willing to extend Pippo before they are also willing to do the same for Seedorf

I didn't say you need a superstar, but Kaka was a superstar that year. We've won in 2003 without superstars.

Last year, Inter won because of team spirit not because of Mourinho. For anyone who sees football, Barcelona was VERY vulnerable, and Inter had the players who could use it, and also Mourinho studied there game well. Barcelona's strength is that they rarely loose any balls in midfield, but if that happens they are very vulnerable, but that's not the topic. Remember Moutinho needed three years to build a winning team and he has got the best team in Italy in his disposal. Porto was a BIG coincidence, Monaco was in that finals, it was ridiculous CL year. Mourinho is good coach, I like him to, but let's not overrate him.

Regarding Kaka, I have no doubts he still is a world-class player, but the fact he lost so much speed brings a question about his body, a body which is not OK evidently, as I already said. I think we don't need a player who'll spend most of the time on the sidelines and take big wages. Last year, he couldn't play 4 games in a row without injury.

I disagree on some things:
- in 2003, we didn't have one superstar, we had a team full of stars (Cafu, Nesta, Sheva, Inzaghi, Rui, ...)
- Inter last year wouldn't have done anything, despite Mourinho and the solid squad, without Sneijder ...

You're a mod, you could delete/modify the mistakes instead of quoting them in big and bold !!

OK, I got your points.

"Superstar" in my humble definition ^^ is something exceptionally better than all other teams. I didn't overrate Mourinho. 2004 was a strange year when all the top teams' forms were bad, and last year there was no team with cohesion like Inter, so their coach could take the credit.

About Kaka, if Milan loan him, the doctors must check him first, and I believe in them because they could find even a teeth problem
