I wonder why nobody talks trash about Huntelaar, he does exactly like Gilardino: he struggled to score in Milan in his last year (well, for Huntelaar, it was also his first year), left and scores goals for both the NT and the new club ...

Everyone bashed Gilardino by saying he was weak mentally (too much pressure in Milan for him, etc), and for Huntelaar, the guy suddenly becomes a hero we should have kept ?

LOL I wouldn't take it so seriously if I were you Geo. It's obvious, at least to me, that some guys here are just poking with another guy who thinks that Klaas is the best striker forever and ever, amen. Based on some experiences in the past, I even tend to think that the best player for this guy is the one who is no longer play for us. That's why he often writes about Gila-this, Klaas-that. But that's okay, and I think it's better if we let him be. I myself would rather talk about our future players than the former ones.


Regarding Klaas, I meant to write some kind of goodbye note the kind I did on Marco's thread, but I simply forgot it. To sum up his first and last year in Milan shirt, although we only saw glimpses of his potential, I agree that he deserved to be given more chances, to play in a position that suits him the most, before we can judge his quality. And from their comments throughout last season up to the last days of mercato, I think Braida and Galliani still rate him highly. Even Klaas himself wanted to stay. But then Ibra and Robinho suddenly became available at such low price. The former is a proven serie A player (and so far hasn't lost his touch), the latter was as big a risk as Klaas who also rarely showed his quality in two consecutive leagues outside his country but offers different quality that suits us more than what Klaas can give. That's why I firmly believe that any other club would do exactly the same if they were presented with the same problem.

It's understandable that they sold Huntelaar to fund Ibra and Robinho's purchases. It would have been nice to have Pato, Ibra, Robinho, and Huntelaar, since Inzaghi will most likely retire after this year or leave. However, It was good to sell Huntelaar even though he's a very good player. We have the best attack in Europe and I'm very happy with the purchases.

Furthermore, when we sell Ronaldinho, we'll need an ACM. If we keep going in the right direction, then any talk of Huntelaar is silly. We've built a great attack and now we must make other adjustments in Midfield & Defense.

I wish Huntelaar the best of lucky....
