I don't want to get excited over this rumor about Ganso....but if it ends up to be true, we'll be getting one of the future best ACM in the world. I know he is injured until February at least, but this is a future buy for sure. IMO this is THE player you want from Brazil. I've watched Santos quite a lot this year. GolTV showed a lot of their games, especially in the beginning of the season while the state championships were still going on. And Ganso.....is a walking "football brain" on the field. Simply great. "Zidane like" intelligence.

Let's see what happens.

Yes.

Long way to go for me to believe Berlusconi is back to spending ways.

at least, we should do as much as we can to win it back for the year after... and this must start from now, we need to get as much points as possible and just hope for the best.... after looking at the numbers for the past 5 years, it seems that only the top 3 Italian teams in Serie A 2011/2012 will go to CL in the 2012/2013... Germany will keep the four spots for at least 2 years...

if Italy do outstanding this year maybe they can win it back after 1 year only....
I think part of the reason why German teams are doing better than Italian teams is mainly due to the fact that IT teams think they are better than the Europa Cup. What the IT Fed should do is that, give more revenue sharing/TV rights to cup staying in Europe from the league. That way, it will somehow encourage those teams playing in Europa to actually want to advance instead of always sending in their B squad.

This news is misleading, AC...

Ganso has a contract, and it only finish in 2015. He just did not accepted a plan of career Santos offered to him. Like the one they offered to Neymar after he reject Chelsea...

Ganso buyout is still 50 millions, and there's no way they will sell him for 15 millions. MilanMikey is right, 15 millions for Ganso isn't a good offer, and it will only make the team doing it look bad in Brazil. They will laugh. I hope we don't go there with this offer...

well we bought pato for 20mil and he hadn't even played a full season in professional football.... i dont know if ganso is worth it, but from what everyone says he seems to be... from the times i've seen him I wasn't that impressed.... however we have been linked with many players for january, coentrao, cissokho, kaka, ganso and i'm sure more players to come....

in the past we have also been linked with hernanes and never got him.... lets hope they are more serious with Ganso this time.. we are losing our 30 year old attacking midfielder brazilian star that is losing form and is one of the most paid players in the world... it only makes perfect sense to get Ganso this January.... but it also would make sense if they said Robinho was his replacement in the first place..... so I dunno.

I mean, if we are going to spend I'd rather it be on Neymar. This kid looks like a new Messi, a new Ronaldo(brazilian one). Ganso - looks like a good bet but still not sure. However Neymar on the other hand looks like he is destined to be one of the greatest players. He's only 18 still. If you saw a young Maradona playing at 18 for a club such as Santos - and they played a tag of 40mil on him - would you take it?

Personally - even though it's easier said than done - I think I would go for Neymar. This kid looks to be even better than our inconsistent and injury prone Pato. Brasiliero, do you agree that Neymar is special and probably worth the 40m?

Here's Neymar's first 50 goals at 18 years old still.

Your point about his injury got me thinking. With all the Bale rumours of late, Galliani responded by saying that his price has shot up and the right time to buy him was actually last year when he was injured and not such a hot name. Not to fuel the rumours, but isn't it ironic that he makes the comment as Ganso, yet to be identified as a world class prospect and with a long term injury is heavily linked to Milan.

i just came across the article and decided to post it since ther hasnt been any links being talked about around here.. but going in their making a mesely 15m offer for one of the biggest future talents of brazil will make us look pretty dumb.. i wouldnt expect ANYTHING less then 30 to land ganso... and 25-30 is a possibility only if the club is willing and ganso really wants to play for us, which is why im stil a bit optimistic because alot of brazilians would like to play along robinho ronaldinho pato and thiago, but same time we cant expect to go in with a small offer like 15mill. buying kaka as cheaply as we did was a once in a decade type of thing to come across.. especially nowadays, its close to impossible. these young prospects get offers of 30-40m fromc lubs like manu, chelsea, real etc etc. look at dimaria for example, ganso will definitely surpass his quality althouhg i know there 2 diff positions point is ganso being more talented will give bigger effect to the game is what i mean, in means of effectiveness ganso definitely surpasses and hes valued now at around no less then 30 sooo.. best of luck with this ganso deal... we should look towards less highley rated youngsters with talent, were speaking about players that already been recognized by more then a few big clubs.. this is where our scouting should come in.. and tbh yougn brazilians are sorta outa the question becuz most of them end out wc if they seem talented in their younger years so most clubs go for them their the most dependable/consistent

Bale is playing as a wide midfielder in a wide open 4-4-2 in EPL. Thats totally different then what he'd come to Italy and play. I don't think Bale has the defending capacity and tactical awareness to play in a 3 man midfield. At Spurs, they just put him out wide and let him do what he wants. Bale IMO, would not be a good transfer and is not a LB. He was awful there.

Also as far as Ganso or Neymar, Galliani and Berlusconi definitely do not like paying top prices for top level stars hence the Ibra n Robinho cut rate prices. Also, they don't like the inflation prices of these young players, so for either Ganso or Nemar, I don't think we have a chance. IMO, i think any club would be crazy to sign 18 yr olds for 30 M. That is seriously a bad joke regardless of potential.

What happened to the days of players going to smaller big clubs to test themselves on European soil? 30 M for 1 player and a player whose not even a man yet and banking on him becoming a major cornerstone for 5-10 years is a huge investment and very risky. We are not Madrid who throw money away...

We did with Pato. That was a good move. I think the recent successes with Pastore and Hernanes will make it easier for us to take the plunge on Ganso. I actually think it's going to happen. We usually waste the non-EU, but this time we kept hanging on and we need to use it in January or it's wasted.

I agree with you but the 3 man midfield should go away long before Bale or whoever else comes.

I mean- if messi was available for 30m - would you take him? I think it's just the case with Neymar.

Even Pastore (who is excellent) is worth about 30-40m now, Neymar is better and will be cheaper than Pastore.

Neymar is really special, I have no doubt about it. He´s worth every million!!

After all the mess he created two games in a row, and all the bash he received here in Brazil, I thought he would have fall... But the kid is special, and came back even better, leading Santos back to the title race in Brasileirăo with a team full of new starters. Only a injure will stop this boy...

Regarding Ganso, the lad is for real, too!! Last season I criticized him here becuase his game would not translate to Europe. But this season he really changed. He learned to play with tight spaces and improved his work rate A LOT!! A real "Zidane type" of talent in the making...

The problem with Pato in Milan(besides injure) is his role. Mano Menezes said it best this week after watch our last two games live: Pato is a CF, period.

I´m glad Allegri is starting to put Pato more up front. Footabll is easy, [some]coaches are the ones making it more complicated...

No more...
But there´s nothing on the book of rules saying it isn´t alowed. If the player stops before the line of the ball, the penalty is legit. But FIFA changed it after some pressure...

Those days were the days Brazilians Clubs were broken...

Your point regarding risky is fair, but it also can be said to Ibra in Spain after years dominating Serie A. And Gila for us?? A joke is a Club like Santos see the amount of money throw for above average players in Europe and accept banana´s money for two rare talents(Keep in mind I´m not a Santos fan).

Neymar´s and Ganso´s don´t come every season, don´t even in Brazil that produces a lot of talent. Chelsea(and Carlo) know it and thats the reason they offered 30 millions.

Btw, Neymar isn´t only potential, he´s a reality, showing it week in and out in Brazil(and start also in Brazil NT). Some people don´t believe it, and think prove himself in Brazil is nothing, but overlooked guys like Hernanes are showing it is just prejudice...

The problem is... Some European clubs are short minded in purchases. They only look for the hype or talent, and thats alone will not make a player succefull in Europe...

Don´t worry, MM, I got your point. I was just saying Ganso still has a contract until 2015.

Like I said above, Ganso and Neymar are rare type of talent. They don´t come often. Thats the reason (and Santos transfer politics) the price will be high...

We have a BIG name in Brazil regarding the way we treat our Brazilians players(this week Cafu was praising us on TV), and thats a good edge. Pato has Chelsea and R. Madrid offers too, but he chose us for our reputation. It´s possible Ganso want us and make it a little cheap, but nothing in the 15 millions area...

But we really need to be more fast here. Jucilei is a good example about a cheap purchase we lost. Like Geo said, for some reason our mgt seems very defensive in Brazil without Leonardo...
