Very sensible post and clear thoughts. I like

Gilardino...what an absolutely HORRIBLE player Played good before and after Milan though
Wanna know why? because he's a JUVE fan
What makes it even worse is that we gave up Crespo to get this utter and complete WASTE of money.

Ppl cry all day about how he was played badly but at Parma, especially when Adriano left Gila was the focal point of their attack.

At one stage Gila actually realized how lame he was and "promised" 30 goals in his next 100 games

Actually, all these players are more or less flops ... but they all have some excuses.

Oliveira: the problem with his sister who was kidnapped at the start of the season didn't help him at all
Gilardino: not that bad, struggled when Ancelotti decided to make Kaka' shine (which was the right thing to do at that time)
Huntelaar: wasn't wanted by the coach, didn't convince him to be used, got some time out of position
Borriello: not that bad, especially after almost one year without playing because of his legs done in glass ...

So who's the worst, who's the biggest flop ? It's difficult to say !!

This isn't even a contest:
-Gila cost the most
-Promised the most (anybody remember "I'll help you forget $heva )
-Played the most romantic and goodlooking CRAP in the universe
-dived constantly
-Came at the expense of CRESPO
-is a juBe fan

REALLY DOES IT GET ANY WORSE
The mere fact that he's so loved by certain posters should tip you off to his being condemned to footballing obscurity along with he 57th best goal thief of all time Jon Dhal TomASSon.

Borriello shouldn't even be in this list. He is what the rest are but never PRETENDED to be World Class as they have. Borri is a youth graduate and worked his @$$ off when wearing red and black. We're the ones that treated him badly if anything

The most unprofessional player of AC Milan history. Never cared about his health at and ate lots of pies, which made him suffer all the time.

Note: No disrespect towards his finishing skills though

Ronaldo wasn't really a flop at all. We got him for a cheap price and he was instrumental in our successes in his first season, as he gave a huge lift to the team. I would even argue, in the respect he was important to our CL success.

His injuries and lack of fitness were an issue though.

I agree with all you said. I like his play with Milan even he was so fat.
If not the injury, he would help us a lot in Serie A (pity that we didn't take a part in CL in that time).

I only threw that fat player only for joke.

If flop defines as the one who met the least of expectations for him, I'd say Gilardino. We did not hope much for R. Oliveira as Sheva replacement as we all agreed he's crap compared Sheva#7 (whom he was supposed to replace). Borriello actually was exceeding expectations. And Huntelaar did not get much playing time, he'd never met the expectations because he was something-like-forbidden to do so.

Pay attention that I did not consider their price as a factor in defining their flop title.

My vote goes to Jose mari.

He was called the next big thing costed a lot of money and never delivered anything.

Gila may not be the next sheva (We still haven't found his heir.
(Pato is on the right path but still has a way to go.) But Gila did score his share of goals.

I actually recall Jose Mari scoring a goal or two (which is the only reason I can vaguely recall what he looks like). I don't remember a thing about No-Gol-iviera and he was with us a lot closer to the present. Gilardino was waay over-hyped because he is Italian (which always happens to decent Italian players in Italy--it is they same in most countires, of course), but at least he scored in the CL Final.
