We should have tried the 3DMs against Madrid. It really gives much strength for our defense. What also important is that lately we finally play as unit and are compact team, thanks to 3DMs plus changing in forwards Allegri made (Seedorf for Dinho and Robinho for Pato). Both Seedorf and Robinho helped the team playing as a compact team by closing space either when we are attacking or defending.

Today we used 4-3-1-2 as our basic formation but changed to 4-3-1-1-1 (or 4-3-2-1) with Seedorf moved back to the left-center side and Robinho right-centre side when the opponent got the ball.

I noticed that too, but I don't think it is mentality. I believed he was exhausted by then, and he was really trying his best. Now with Inzaghi and Pato out, it is impossible for him to get any rest.

I hope that uncle fester and silvio realize we need to sign or get on loan some players in the winter.

Im really nervous because with Ibra playing soooo much and we dont have pippo, Pato is out for awhile again we need to have our players get rest too.

Its a long season, we really can win it this year but I hope we use the $$ to keep our team strong fro the long haul.

^ Well the international break is on for the week so Seedorf will have his rest. Anyone know who else is called up? Silva, Robinho and R80 are called up for the Argentina friendly in Qatar right?

I used to think Abate was a terrible and dumb player. After today he's showed that he not really terrible but he still is a dumb player. I used to think he should be no where near Milan's squad, but after the last 2-3 performances, maybe he and Antonini can be part of our squad for next year. We still need world-class fullbacks like Serginho and Cafu and those two are not class to World Class but they are solid enough to be their substitutes.

Hoping for a Coentrao swoop in January, along with an AM like Ganso will take us a new step towards greatness.

gg in all honesty we should look at this game this way - 1st half we owned them in attacking, 2nd half we defended very well. well played game.. i like the idea of an ambro boateng flamini midfield, very defensive while all 3 are at least somewhat useful going forward too. it works out with our stellar attack

FORZA MILAN

So happy for the win. Finally I saw BALANCE in the team. I like the bold move to SIT Pirlo and play 3 CDM's. 3 guys who had MASSIVE amounts of energy and Flamini really helps out in Attack as well. He's a box to box Midfielder of the highest calibre. Ambrosini showed a lot of calmness in Pirlo's position.

While I am very happy, I'm also realistic. There are still holes in our team. Also, Inter has a real idiot for a coach. This is not the same team as last year. Yes there were injuries but the bigger issue for them is that they don't believe in the coach.

On another note, I HATE Chivu & Pandev. They tried to instigate. I wanted to Chivu in the face...

Ok now for our team:

Abbiati: Good
Nesta & Silva: Fantastic, our ROCK
Antonini & Zambro: Good enough
Abate: Not good enough, too dumb
3 CDM's: Excellent Energy, although I was terrified Gattuso was about to get sent off
Pirlo: Did little
Seedorf: Hit or miss, not bad, but can you imagine Honda or Ganso in his place
Ibra: Excellent work
Robinho: not bad

Absolute Massive Hearts by the team as as a unit though..I'm very proud of them...

* Overall, I liked Allegri's tactics, but Abate was off, Antonini was about to come on.. WHAT WAS THE NEED TO PUT ABATE BACK ON. Make the sub when the ball goes out of bounds. This reminded me of last year when Gattuso got a RED CARD as he was about to get subbed. MORONIC.

Lastly, this is for the Mercato section, but if we swoop Coentrao and a ACM (Honda or Ganso) in January, I believe we will for sure win Scudetto. We would be 3 times better with those 2 moves alone.

We need to sell Ronaldinho, and eventually Seedorf, but that's a seperate issue. Now with Inzaghi out for the year, and Pato injured more than he's Not... we need to at least loan another striker IMO. Even if he's not that great, as Robinho and Ibra cannot play 90 minutes all Every Game.. this is too dangerous. We have no FORWARDS...

All in All.. FORZA MILAN and FCUK MERDA

wen ambro plays i feel so much calmer through out the game, he controls the bar and he plays VERY VERY VERY smart football. he knows when to make a chalenge at the right time, whether its a foul or clean noone ever gets buy him in those crucial situations that lead up to goals, hes like an ACTUAL wall in midfield.. and he does a good job in our attacvking situation too... imo most underrated milan playeer!

It's a good thing we only won by small margin (and from PK too) instead of drubbing them with two or three more goals. That way they can content themselves with their display and especially their coach, which is a good thing.

Guys, you don't know the situation so you don't know why I had to ask ...

Anyway, back to more serious things: we played an overall good game, Inter just had one chance to "score" (not even a clear chance) when Abbiati punched the FK of Sneijder. Apart from this FK, I don't think they worried once Abbiati !!

It seems Nesta was "just" tired in the last few games as yesterday, he was solid again, and Thiago Silva was also amazing. The FB did the job and as a consequence, our 4 men defence was good, good enough to stop our poor opponent.

This game (and the last one) showed Pirlo is no more a "sure starter" in that team, I mean, we don't need him to start each game like some years ago, the team is now able to play without Pirlo, which is a good thing (it's thanks to a running midfield, which is something great to see after all these years with walking players).

I also want to add that Robinho wasn't that bad: maybe he missed a lot of things, but he moves a lot off the ball and tracks back which is a big help for the midfield.

Ibrahimovic is going to need a rest, he can't play full 90 minutes anymore for moment ...

We lost against Juventus (but we would have derserved more) and we beat Napoli, Palermo and Inter: our difficult run is turning into a big success !!

PS: When was the last time we were 1st after 12 games and +6 from Inter ?!

Allegri is like Mourinho, says Seedorf

Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has likened Massimiliano Allegri to Jose Mourinho after last night's victory in the Derby della Madonnina.

The Rossoneri beat Inter 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which sent them top of the table again with a one-point advantage over Lazio.

“We are happy because we won a game, but it takes time to open a cycle,” Seedorf said.

“We need to get to know each other better. Balance is a subtle thing that you only obtain through results.”

When asked if he believes Milan are stronger than Inter, Seedorf said: “We'll talk about it at the end of the season.

“In any case, it's not said that you need to be stronger than the Nerazzurri to win the Scudetto.

“Mourinho's teams were always distinct by their compactness. We have become much more compact with Allegri. We move in an organised manner.”
I agree with the bold part. Allegri yet finds how to play Milan as a compact team. But we still have weakness. One biggest issue is still with our mentality after scoring 1 goal or leading. We still tried to sit back and wait for the opponent to attack although we were still able to control the game while we were attacking. Allegri should kick this mentality out of the team.

although i have more joy when we beat Juventus, this is the next best thing! it was great to be a fan today.

the second half was really nervy though, hopefully they can learn to can kill teams off in the next few weeks. It would of been nice to have another athletic midfielder to get subbed in instead of pirlo in those types of situations. because on another day, that move could of backfired.. Come on scouts! do your job!
