Tactically I believe at this point Merkel, Verdi and Berreta should be called up for Serie A games, as we don't have reserves who have their characters. That's exactly where Allegri are building his reputation, coz he cannot stop the veterans' bias towards the youth.

Strongly disagree ... That means the guy still has ideas to test and that's IMO a good thing. Anyway, about the Pirlo-Seedorf "test", it's more because Pirlo was out for some time (exactly when Allegri decided to use Seedorf as our AM) ... For Ronaldinho, it's just because of the emergency in our team in attack.

So I don't see why we would have issues if Allegri needs to try things in December !!

It's not anti or pro Allegri in my opinion. It's giving players a rest when there is a chance and this was one of the better chances. Doesn't mean Allegri made a huge mistake, it just means it was better if he gave rest to more players.
One thing I disagree with is 'he was trying things', I didn't see that.

Cassano might become free next week...
if we have the possibility to sign him for free and sell Dinho for whatever amount in Jan, I will gladly take it.
An operation like this will benefit us on the pitch and on the balance sheet.
the only downside is that he cannot play in the CL i think as he played for Samp against Werder

I also don't see any reason why he cannot play the ACM position...i'm sure he will do more running than Seedorf, offer more creativity, speed, desire...

+ he can play as a forward if need be so if Pato will recover by Jan, then we can pass on signing a striker in Jan and concentrate on getting a fullback.

Somebody mentioned Contento here before (maybe Samaldinho) and i think he does look like a good option. I have to admit, i haven't watched him as much as i would like, but every time i do, he impresses me, especially offensively....if anyone can confirm his defensive abilities that would be nice.

* Cassano is too much of a risk, and with a Scudetto at stake, I don't see our Management going for him. Creatively, yes he'd be great.

* Diego Contento from what I heard from German friends is that he's in the big long term plan of Bayern Munich & Germany,, in other words not available.

* If Allegri sees that:

works, especially how the team seemed so balance with Ambro in the holding position...(esp with 3 DM)....

I don't know why he'd try Pirlo in that position again... I clearly think that may be the issue to our problems...Use pirlo as a side mid or a ACM instead of Seedorf....

Lastly, any transfer rumors?

Cassano would be a massive signing, like Lebrn said, he could play both as trequartista and as a striker! IMO a brilliant signing! bring him in

I don't think it's a problem at all, every coach needs to be prepared for various match situations and players must play in various ways to meet the coach's needs. Experimentation and variation is an ongoing process that if we don't do, we'll end up stale, a bit like Carlo's side in his last couple of years.

I didn't actually see the Ajax match, so I can't say what Allegri was doing. What I would say is that I think Allegri must have his reasons for picking the players he did, so I'm not too concerned he didn't play all reserves.

I'm strongly against Cassano. It doesn't make sense to me to offload Ronaldinho and to go for Cassano, practically the same lazy, "always stay on the left", genius. Allegri has finally made a team with lot of movement and team work, where every player works for a team, and I don't think Cassano has a place there, just like Ronaldinho doesn't have a place.

Instead of buying free players for positions we don't need at the moment, we should concentrate on bringing one good side back and one center forward at least on loan. I've heard rumors about Grosso/Oddo switch in January, and that would be great IMHO. Grosso is out of Del Neri's plans, they have problems at right back actually. And though he wasn't great last year, Grosso proved time and time again in NT that he can do magic when he has Pirlo beside him. Pirlo is just the type of player who can push Grosso to the limits. I'm for this if it's true.

i hope we sign cassano..tevez would be a dream that would make an attacking line up to really remember.. tevez natural role is centre forward, cam could be doable..

thats a dream line up imo.. its doable i think in two seasons time.. tevez,luiz in and r80 out this jan, summer we add coentrao cus hes mroe important then a fill in cam, and then next jan or summer we buy bruno cesar or ganso ?:O mite b to late to buy ganso by then however..

i agree with Revolver on the Cassano issue. i mean, what's the point of having yet another attacker when Pato (about this one; what happens when he returns? does he walk back into the team? or does he stay on the bench while 'Binho continues to squander easy chances?) and Dinho aren't playing ATM? We need midfielders and a solid defender that can play at fullback or slot in at central defence if the need arises. A Branislav Ivanovich type of player.
Aside the fact that tactically Cassano's inclusion would be a nightmfare, he doesn't exactly scream "great for the dressing room"!

If there are no better alternatives than Cassano I hope we just stay as we are.

Transfer request from Tevez has been rejected by the Man City. But we all now that as long as a player is unhappy and the "right offer" comes along, then he will be sold. But didn't he miss his daughters back in Argentina? I think it would be hard to get him...

i hope Tevez is a man of his word and quits football or goes back to Argentina, otherwise hes going to look a real idiot if he signs for somebody else in europe.
