Why would Dzeko sign a new contract this past year if he wants to leave????

He could have left for free in summer 2011 and then signed with whatever club he wanted, and they could have paid him more €€€€ as they would not have to splash on a transfer fee...
we will never know, I guess. Only Dzeko does.

I have no doubt that he loves Milan, but he was the one that makes everything very difficult.

anyway, Forza Milan.

Official: Inter Milan appoint Leonardo as their coach; Contract January 2011-June 2012

Leonardo spiteful of Berlusconi .....

I don't care if Berlusconi raped his wife, there are some things a Milanista do not do and this is one of them. Leonardo has proven to be nothing more than phony Milanista. He no longer has my respect.

Basically, he did that as a goodwill for the club. That way, Wolfs won't lose him for nothing. Pretty noble if you ask me.

The other thing is, can you guys stop dreaming about Ranocchia, as this will not happen. He is either going to start playing for Inter in Jan or in Aug. Crisito to me is abit over-rated. David Luiz to me is still a much better player than those two.

Wow!! Where did you got this rumor?? What a bunch of nonsense!!
(Btw, don´t take it personal, I´m attacking the news)

Milan is looking a lot like Real Madrid. The player is fried at the press with stupid rumors, making the guy looks bad to the fans and them, a transfer in the next window can be made easily...

Lets get the facts straight: Wasn´t Ibra the one saying(after Real Madrid game) he likes to play in a more free role and not as a CF(asking Allegri to start Pippo and bench Pato and Robinho)?? Have you guys see how happy is Pato playing(and scoring) as a pure #9(his position since the start of his career in Brazil)for Mano Menezes team?? look, one wants to be the CF and the other wants a free role, how can they be mad at each other? This rumor is so stupid...

This part about his inability yo play through the pain is even worse!!
Pato is a REALLY down to earth young man, and anything but a primadonna. What a shame those rumors! It is looking a lot like the strategy to fry Robinho some years ago. The same derogating strategy... Btw, after this nonsense and Cassano purchase, I have no doubt Pato´s days are numbered at Milan.

Another thing... Strange how some of these senators can blackmail Milan always they are benched(Gattuso, Ambro) with threats about leaving the club, and there´s no repercussion. They are always the good ones and the ones that loves Milan I hate these double standards

Great Post!

No player is bigger than the club, and I also do not like this Pato bashing. Ibra likes to be second striker and Pato as #9...

I want both Ibra and Pato as my starters for next 5 years!!!

Thanks, Elmago...

Pato and Ibra partnership is perfect. Sure they are finishers and will be a little selfish in some games, but imo they complement each other very well.

I just hope our coach uses more pato as a #9 and Ibra free. Can´t stand more to see Pato tracking back as a winger...

I agree with Brasileiro. Let us not forget that Pato has played an entire season as a Right Wing Forward and never complained.

Pato as n°9, with Ibra as second striker, thats what I posted on another Milan forum. but nobody agreed there. glad some people here think the same
IMO if pato could play a whole season as our frontman he would bag in 20-30 goals a season. He played this role in his first half season at Milan, he was just 18yo back than. he was fantastic!!

I'm afraid he will leave in the summer , but we shouldnt let him go, he is only true goalscorer we have (OK, also pippo). Ibra aint a true goalscorer in my book.

Don't you notice that, whenever an in demand striker is injured for Milan, while another striker is scoring goals for the team. They will always be rumors about the injured striker wanting to leave or Milan willing to sell him..... It happened when Sheva got hurt and Pippo scoring goals during 02-03. Then if happened to Pippo when Sheva was scoring the goals the next year.
They will never stop.

Personally, I don;t think Cassano is the exit sign for Pato. As all teams need depths. Pato and Ibra will start together and shine for Milan once both are healthy. I actually think that Robinho might be slot into the ACM spot due to his work rate and his will to track back.

Pato will only leave Milan if another top notch striker is sign.

Brasiliero, as I posted in the Cassano thread, I really think this purchase is part of a great project to rebuild the team. Look, our attack is now something like Ibra/Pato and Robinho(IMO, if Pato wants to play, he'll have to take the place of Robinho who is simply becoming more and more important and better for us in each game)/Cassano ... or maybe Ibra/Cassano and Robinho/Pato, I don't know how things will work, who will be the sub for who, the only sure thing is that right now, Ibra and Robinho are our starters and both Pato and Cassano will have to fight to get a starting spot, mainly with Robinho, and sometimes when Ibra is tired.

Our attacking line is simply perfect, 4 international players, 3 with experience and who are not really injury-prone, one young wolf who will learn a lot with them, and the fact these 3 experienced players work hard on the pitch will push Pato to work even harder on the pitch (actually, last year, he couldn't be blamed for not tracking back when on the left side, Ronaldinho was allowed not to move at all off the ball) ...

So I only see positive things in this Ibra/Robinho/Cassano purchases for both the team and Pato. IMO, if Pato doesn't get another injury in the second part of the season (he should be able to reinforce and prepare his body more easily by playing a bit less, and he will have less pressure), he won't be sold. If he gets another injury or doesn't manage to take the starting spot (because not working enough), he will probably be sold (unfortunately), and probably to get another young player, surely Balotelli ...

i like pato i really do , but the fact he's no threat without the ball if he doesnt have a running lane he's invisible , he's not bojan , messi , david silva , who all play up top and can make 1 or 2 crisp perfect passes & complete a attack , pato is not threat as a number 9 aganst who small teams ? fiore , bari , if we would play barca , man united , lol real madrid CF he wouldnt exist he's a real basic 2 # striker robinho looks out of this world with us dribbling , lobbing , shooting ( FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX ) creating lanes , smart deadly even without the ball , cassano is perfect for us , was boateng going to be our sneijder , ozil , probally not , so lets get cassano ? , pato can still be as effective , but can he adjust to a 4321 - 4231 - 433 - 4213 , ? or is he another ronaldinho ( Milan period ) hes useless unless we play a 433 all the time ( LEFT SIDE ONLY ) & not even rotates plays on the left doesnt backtrack ? this is serie a ? , everybody backtracks , you all gang up on me whatever but balo is doing everything he can to join us , people say he's a headcase oh yea just like kpb , robinho , ibra , cassano , get out of here ! , i still want balo for pato , he's more durable and doesnt have to blast past everybody because he's not a threat in the air ,

Cannot believe any Milanista could ask for Pato to be gone!!!!
would never trade this kid for anyone in the world (except Messi)
I don't care about the injuries (frustrating and frequent as they are)
I don't believe the attitude rumours
Pato has the potential (we all know) and will fulfill it (apparently we don't all agree on this point).
his body will get stronger
he will learn to work more for the team (hell if Ibra learned that at the age of 27-28, there is no reason a 21 yr-old will not)
and he will be the best striker in the world

Robinho & Cassano can fight it over for the CAM role for all i care (happy to have them both but not on Pato's expense)
i want to see Ibra & Pato playing together and Pato as the Striker
I will never forget the 1st half season he played for us, i was so happy we found a gem like that.
If someone can show the stats for our strikers this year, they will show how effective and lethal Pato is

Pato should be our striker for the next 10 years ...period

Regading Leo...Berlusconi treated him with a callousness that we come to expect from him. I don't think we should expect much from a man who spends much of his time fending off incarceration.

However, after he was let go, Leonardo had a choice. Quite frankly, his joining Inter is not exactly Judas-like, but it is spiteful, something to which he has every right. For me, he has gone down in esteem. The point is that Berlusconi has meddled and insulted many times. The man is himself contemptible and contemptuous of most people's work. However, Leonardo's choice to join Inter is a slap in the face of the fans, whom he has clearly disregarded. No one expects much from a lout like Berlusconi, but we do expect much from an urbane Leonardo.

As for Pato, I think he has been a great servant. He never complains, and injuries are not exactly his fault. He is growing and he has put on a lot of weight. His injuries are unsurprising, but I do suspect that our medical staff is not a good as it is cracked up to be.

I do think, however, that Pato will leave either this summer or the next, and that will prove to be a mistake only if he performs brilliantly at his new club. Then we will know whether it was us that screwed up with managing his injuries etc.

I agree with Brasiliero and Hasan here.

I don't think Pato's injuries are his fault, its clearly because of his growth and the amount of muscle he's put on alone, and the fact that he's still getting taller, all point to injuries that will happen. I mean, Balotelli is also going through the same thing, so I don't think it's down to Italian, Brazilian, Milan's medical staff, or whatever..

However, if Pato's injuries are something that are more chronic, I actually trust Milan's selling policy. When it comes to selling our "crown jewels" I can't really remember us letting go someone and it blowing up in our face. Yes, there are some examples of players who have left us to do well (Borriello, so far) but when it comes to Sheva or Kaka, symbols of Milan, neither have left to do anything important and Kaka's injuries have prevented him from doing anything of note for Real.

As for Pato leaving, I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel like he's destined to go, and Cassano coming in doesn't help. However, Cassano is 28, and I think he is firmly told where he's going to be. I feel like Cassano is not as long-term a solution, and I would go so far as to say that "long-term" Milan strategy is more based on Paloschi, Pato, and Robinho than Ibra and Cassano. But that's another story.

As far as what happens when Cassano and Pato come into the mix, I think we've seen that Allegri doesn't trust Dinho and we have worked Ibra to the point of exhaustion. Cassano will be useful to play, especially against smaller teams.

So I'm not sure the problem is so much about having all these attackers, I think the problem is that Allegri needs to play them, and it seems clear that without Dinho being considered, Pato's return and Cassano's addition are very important to Milan's future push. I mean, Ronaldo taking on the domestic scoring burden in 2007 allowed Pippo to score the goals to win the CL. I don't see why we should be worried about that.

Quick note: We've been linked to Rannochia, Crisicto, and last I saw, Montolivo. Those would be three DREAM signing for me.
