I would really like to see Allegri continue his policy of rewarding the good performances of his players.... I would like to see Oddo start... who knows.... if he could pull out a performance like he did vs Al Ahly or Napoli, we could have found a very pleasant surprise...

Abate (I know he is dominantly a right footed player, but up front he's not that much use anyway) on the left and Oddo on the right. Nini can play on the bench as he deserves to be there for being below average all season. In midfield we have Ambro, Seedorf, Strasser and Merkel fully fit, Gattuso we are still unsure of. Up front we have Cassano and Pato, and hopefully Beretta will be on the bench.

If at all, Oddo on the left and Abate on the right. Oddo is a natural defender and has played on the left occasionally I reckon. IMHO, it would be too much for Abate to try the LB position.

I am sorry Ronnie didn't have strength to recover his carrier in AC and wish him good luck where ever he goes.

I am very interested to see how will Allegri solve this midfielder crisis, will he be brave to use a youngster or go for more experienced players.

Dinho is gone, Binho is injured, Ibra is suspended, Pippo is out, Pato just came back from injury, and Cassano is healthy but unfit. Who will be playing as upfront for Milan.
It really looks like Milan will drop points in this game, unless the midfield picks up the slack.

Personally, I will play Oddo as RB and Antonini as LB. Yepes and T. Silva as CBs. Ambro and Gattuso in the middle with Abate on the right and Seedorf on the left. Pato and Verdi/Robinho up front.

Well, I am worried but also very excited for this game. I am worried because so many important players are injured and suspended right now but it also means that there will be less options for Allegri to pick his players. He should therefore call up youngsters and this makes me excited since this should be not a usual call-up (a player is called and trained but then left for the game or at best sit on the bench without getting any minute).

What I am really exited to see Beretta play. This kid has no dribbling ala Ronaldinho or speed ala Pato but he has motivation and always fight for the ball. His positioning surprised me too since I didn't see it when he played before. Well, I hope Beretta does get proper chance of play.

Please Allegri, don't be like Carlo. Don't use player in position which is not their natural position just to eliminate chance of play of the youngsters.

The last rumour is: Merkel on the pitch (CM or AM, depending on that, Seedorf will play as a CM or AM), Strasser who was highly expected to play and Cassano on the bench.

It is also reported that Bonera could be the replacement of Nesta for this game.

So the team is easy to guess:

Abb
Abate - Bonera - T.Silva - Antonini
Gattuso - Ambro - Seedorf or Merkel
Merkel or Seedorf
Robinho - Pato

Oh, and happy new year guys !!

Really Geo (about Merkel)? His last game was not so convincing although he was not bad at all (lack of self-confidence made him pretty isolated from the game but still disciplined with his duty as CAM). I really didn't expect this.

Happy new year too, Geo. See you in chat room, I have never seen you there for pretty long time.

EDIT:

It is! Merkel plays from the first minute!

CAGLIARI: Agazzi; Pisano, Canini, Astori, Agostini; Nainggolan, Conti, Lazzari; Cossu; Nenč, Matri.

MILAN: Abbiati; Abate, Bonera, Thiago Silva, Antonini; Gattuso, Seedorf, Ambrosini; Merkel; Pato, Robinho.
