I think Tommason should never of left , very good quality backup striker always weighed i with his fair share oh goals..got some important ones also.

We were supposedly interested in him before. Would be a solid (although expensive) alternative on both center back and right back position:

Tony, usually i agree with what you say but i believe in this case you are maybe a bit harsh on Ramos,\. Yes, he's got a card problem and sometimes an attitude problem and i don't believe he is one of the top players of the world right now but he's more than decent for sure. He's versatile as a defender, he is not afraid to play hard and helps a great deal on the attack. Wouldn't really mind him playing for us.

Didn't our own Paolo Maldini say that Sergio Ramos will be the next FB "Legend"??... he rated him very highly and wanted Milan to buy him....

Sergio Ramos is a good defender, probably better as a Right Back then Center Back, but very good, try to name defenders better than him and you will see the list is short.

I can judge the players well enough, and ramos is a dirty player, with no respect for opponents, like his club and manager.

Bar about 5/6 players there are no genuine WC players in the modern game. Maybe Ramos is a good player, but that just shows how far the standards have dropped.

Sounds like Cassano to me, cursing out the owner of the club..also Robinho at Man City...Ronaldinho at Barcelona when he partied too much, Balotelli (another Milan target) does all sorts of disrespectful things.

As far as your 2nd comment, I agree, it's hard to find World Class defensive players, perhaps the standard has dropped. Guys like Nesta and Puyol are getting older, Carragher, Terry as well. As far as Italian defenders goes, there are few and far between. Literally the best right now are Nesta and Chiellini. Nesta has a year or so left, and Chiellini will be a life long Juventus player. Bonucci and Rannocchia are average, and Santacroce doesn't even play. Gamberini, Barzagli are below average, and the rest look like Bonera

It's mind boggling that we're looking for an All-Brazilian Center Back pairing of our future. Look at Real Madrid, in my opinion their Carvalho-Pepe pairing are very average, and not world class in my opinion....so on this account, Tony, I agree with you. So then what's your solution for how our Back Line should look for the next decade?

Everything was so much better in the good old days...

So if the general standard of players have dropped, then maybe he's more than good enough anyway? We'll probably never have a new Maldini, Baresi or Nesta, live with it. If we can keep Ibrahimovic and Cassano quiet, then surely we could with Ramos?

People have different opinions on different players. Some people actually remember Zidane as a great football player, rather than a card machine. He got at least 12 red cards during his career. Some of them pretty nasty as well... Not comparing Zidane and Ramos though.
