Gabriel I don't think anyone wants pato to leave (maybe hitman), but the doubts raised about him can be considered fair as he's not maturing as quickly as we hope. That said I think we just need to give him time and support him.

Geo I agree maybe Pato's come too quickly, but I don't think it's the problem. Essentially it seems people want him to grow too quickly and become a leader like messi. The problem is not every player is messi and can lead an attack at 21. Let's not forget messi is a barca youth product and has lived in the club and country since he was a child, and unlike pato hasn't needed to adapt to a new culture or club.

If I'm honest, I only think pato needs a bit of time and consistent playing time to learn and establish himself as a great player

Pato is already a great player yet he has to improve to be better player, tactically and mentally Pato needs to improve. i want Pato stay with us, as he just need to realize he has to fight for the team and sacrifice himself for the team. He and ibra didnt play that much, considering that, it will be different in coming weeks...

i want Robinho to start, as he offers something we shouldnt forget, his movement, speed, flair, his tricks, he also tracks back, his movement on the wings and how he opens wings.Because of this factors, also we dont have a this kind of midfield who can do this job, i want Robinho to start when he is in form, always. his understanding with ibra also amazing. Our midfield is defensively good, and however offensively for example, we cant replace Boateng properly or Pirlo. we missed them so bad during their absence.

We will be much better when Robinho, Boateng, ibra are fit in attack.

Lets not forget that injuries stopped his progress. we also shouldnt forget why Ancelotti bashed Pato for not working like Cafu or Emerson in training.

i think that because of 2 factors, he didnt mature quickly as we hoped.

About a possible problem between Pato and the other strikers, and more especially Ibra, I don't think there is any, if Ibra can become friend with Balotelli (it seems they have kept in touch since Ibra left Inter) ...

And about Ibra-Balotelli, Ibra replied Balotelli in medias about the possible arrival of Balo in Milan saying that he is sorry but with Pato, Cassano, Robinho, himself and even Inzaghi when he'll come back, it would be too much and there is no need and space, unless Galliani decides the contrary, for a new striker.

If there had been some problems between our strikers, the guy could have said that Balotelli would be very welcome in the club, sending a message to the management that Balotelli would be accepted and, as a direct consequence, Pato could be the guy to make leave (as Ibra, Robinho and Cassano just arrived) for that to happen ... But it didn't happen this way (and will not happen this way hopefully) !!

Well, nowadays, among the young talented players, who really works that hard ??

I mean, the guys are stars at a younger and younger age, everyone labelling them "the next X", everyone saying them how talented they are ...

You know, a guy that most of the people knowing him would like to have in Milan, Hazard from Lille, very young player, admitted (the coach and his team mates said it several times too) that he tends to play thanks to his talent only, that for him, only the games count, the trainings are just a boring thing (he also said that he'll try to work more because he sees he starts to improve less and knows that without working hard, when he'll join a big club, with players at least as talented as him, if he doesn't work hard, he won't get playing time: actually, the guy is quite mature as he knows what he has to do) ...

When you see a guy like Benzema in Real Madrid, he didn't improve since 2 years at least, it seems he only starts to understand that he needs to work, and that's because both Blanc and Mourinho said it 150 times in medias (and probably more in private).

My point is that the most talented young players are rarely the harder workers ...

The only problem with Pato is that his effort is abysmal, and his development has stopped for a while now. When we bought him at 17 we were hoping that by 2 years we would be seeing a ready world-class player...thing is, we still have the same 17 year old kid that's taller and stronger and more injury prone..... yes he scores goals, but we need more than that..... Messi and Ronaldo do have the goals, but they have so much more than just the numbers.

Pato doesn't seem interested at times to track back or put an effort, and the team members (from Ancelotti, Seedorf, Ambrosini and today Oddo) have told Pato to train harder and mature more. He doesn't seem to be taking any advice his team mates give him. His decision making is his worst aspect, he is amazingly good at doing the wrong decision, almost every time.

great to read all those positive posts on Pato

about Schmelzer, he's 22 and according to filipez is better than what we are linked with...could he be that right choice in between a 3Mio Ziegler and a 20Mio Coentrao?....i read a valuation of him of 9Mio

would like to see a couple of matches for him...maybe will try to catch a dortmund match this weekend

Edit: started writing my post before Hitman posted his....but it still counts :P

As far as tracking back, I disagree with you. He's a #9, a striker on the last line of defense. He needs to use his speed for counter attacks, he shouldn't be tracking back, as I'd rather the SS or midfield to do that.

As far as making the wrong decisions, I agree with you, he's trying to become a better dribbler by continuing to do this, but he's very poor at dribbling, and loses the ball constantly. He's a bad passer, and makes many mistakes. He needs to use the training ground to practice, not matches against Udinese.

We don't know what goes on in the training sessions, day to day. He scores goals and that's his job. He does make mistakes, and is frustrating sometimes. His injuries are also very annoying. However, with speed and finishing ability like that, you do your best to work with him past the age of 21. If by 23 he's still a child, then you sell him, and he'll still be worth a ton, don't worry. You cannot compare him to Messi and Ronaldo for many reasons already listed. Also, they are not strikers, but ACM, so their role on the field is different. and Ronaldo very often stands around when he doesn't have the ball, I can assure you.

Dortmund had said before that none of their starting players leaving this winter (a logical statement; who wants to leave when they're leading?). Weidenfeller, Hummels, Subotic, Schmelzer, Kagawa, Sahin, Barrios, Grosskreutz, Goetze, Jakup... I'd say this is a very good team.

They really have a very good team, i'd take Schmelzer, Nuri Sahin, Kagawa and young Goetze from them. i also like Bender.

Real Madrid just signed Ruud van Nistelrooy from Hamburg for €2 Million.

Didn't they kick him out of the team? He's a good (Inzaghi type) player, and I bet he scores some important goals for them off the bench....

Just wanted to let you know that I think your critique of Pato is a bit unreasonable.

Just let Pato play. Why should Oddo talk to the press about Pato (that he should listen to the experienced players in Milan? I know Oddo wants best from Pato and he said it in a polite way but we have already heard that kind of statement pretty often. I don't see anything positive to say it to the press again except giving more pressure to Pato.

Milan will keep Pato since he is just so talented and already formed into good striker (great at his age).
