Yepes was very good, i'd give him a 7, solid display, as he could also have scored from corners. Then Silva was very good at DM, he first didnt join the attacks and looked unconfortable since then he did very good. He could have scored with his long shoots. Good combinations with Robinho. Merkel is nice lad, he moved well, runned a lot. Howmany times Merkel moved to the box? what he needs is experience, and however he needs to mature. Robinho was our best player tonight. Honestly he did everything not to score, sometimes he was selfish, he shooted with his weak foot for instance instance passing the ball to better positioned team mate. Robinho is very important for the organization for us. His movement, creative display, tracking back s very important. ibra did his job, scored a nice goal again.

Woke up and watched the last 30 minutes of the game.
Don't know much about the first half, but if anything Nesta's injury doesn't seem too serious (at least according to the commentators on my end). The last 30 minutes saw us grind out a solid victory that will do us no harm in our Scudetto ambitions. Robinho was all over the pitch trying to win back the ball, same with Ibra, both good and bad signs. Good because they are willing to sacrifice themselves for the cause, bad because we should never be the ones who need to win back possession. At 1-0 the only time I was actually nervous or afraid we'd be drawn level was as always, during set pieces (thankfully I only saw 2 against us in the second half). Yepes was doing a wonderful job, and Papas actually got in some crucial clearances when Cesena were attacking. Abate was tackling to good effect, was the second best player in our defense behind Yepes, and I think he can only get better. Allegri still needs to get his substitutions right, though, because even at 65 minutes, it was clear that Cassano should have been subbed out. He was clearly not being creative enough, kept being shepherded away from decent passing lanes, and we needed a change sooner rather than later. Other than that, Robinho's finishing has (as always) also been suspect, though his understanding with Ibra (proved a la the assist to Ibra's goal) is second to none. Overall, a well fought last 30 minutes (for me at least). I'll try to download the full match before I comment any further.

A good solid 2-0 payback win against Cesena for us. And Inter lost to Udinese. This is about as good a weekend for Milan fans as it gets.

Agree with everything you guys say, I really liked Robinho today, Ibra, despite not doing much was truly world-class especially in the second half...
Only things I would like to add that most of you havent: ALLEGRI - Needs to learn how to use his 3 substitutions. It gets frustrating that he doesn't learn from this specific mistake. Cassano obviously should have left for Pato earlier. Luckily for him, our defense saved us from conceding a goal. SOKRATIS - Very good game by him, he also brought the ball up to midfield very well and had good long passing range. That's what happens when you give your players a second chance Allegri. MERKEL - has immense potential and will be a great player, however I did not think he was as great as you guys make him to be tonight. ABBIATI - we finally kept a clean sheet in Serie A since the Cagliari game, and he was partly responsible for it. He had a good game. PATO - came in for 8 minutes, showed nothing to show that he wants a starting spot. No spirit, no urge to score or prove something. Yes it was only 8 minutes but he should have shown that he wanted to do something at least. ROBINHO - should keep following this track and will be just as good and just as important as Ibrahimovic |
