MILAN are active in the transfer market to reinforce the team. Updates from the latest rumors...

Bruno Montelongo

The Uruguayan Bruno Montelongo will leave for Bologna on loan, today could be official

Sokratis

Sokratis’ agent suggests that the club has no intention of selling the 22-year-old in this transfer window. Milan have had requests from three clubs but they don’t want to sell him.”

Andrea Lazzari

Negotiations for Lazzari to Milan are not closed yet: possible changes in the last days of market

Van Bommel

As reported by Tuttosport, Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida are in Bavaria to close the deal for Van Bommel. According to the Turin newspaper Tuttosport, in the evening, the thirty-three yo Dutch could be in Milan

Philippe Mexes

Il Corriere dello Sport claims Lupi chiefs have been in talks with Mexes over a new deal as his current one expires in June, but they have stalled over an agreement.
Philippe Mexes has not renewed his Roma deal yet, leaving Milan with a source of hope in their quest to land the defender

Mimmo Criscito

According to a report in the online edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are still very interested in Criscito. Nesta's injury, which will be out three weeks, seems to have convinced the Rossoneri to make a new attempt for the defender, in fact Galliani should meet today Enrico Preziosi, trying to unlock the deal and bring Criscito at Milan this January

I Am going to call the owner of South China/Hong Kong Club, whose signed Nicky Butt and Kezman over the past months, maybe he will sign Van Bommel and Seedorf too.

yeah like we need the two of them to finalize such a huge move...
from what i understood previously is that Tuttosport is more of a "Juvent-ich" paper....so that is what they wish will happen :P

Where exactly would we need him, Van Bommel, to play? Is he reverting to a LB at his age or something?

I think we're clearly focused on winning Scudetto this year and there's not much pressure on Champions League.

However, NONONONONONO van Bommel......We already have 9 Midfielders,,, 9!

1. Andrea Pirlo
2. Gennaro Gattuso
3. Massimo Ambrosini
4. Kevin Prince Boateng
5. Mathieu Flamini
6. Alexander Merkel
7. Rodney Strasser
8. Urby Emmanuelson
9. Clarence Seedorf

* 9 Spots for 3 Positions considering Robinho is now our ACM....
What's the need for v Bommel

Buy a Left Back!

Chelsea have agreed a 25.1 million fee with Benfica for Luiz and have applied for a work permit...I really think we'll lose out him even tho its official yet I think he'll go.

Not official but it looks likely , it was on the radio and they never report anything so i looked around sky and goal.com and the usual places all saying the same...They have made several offers and met with Benfica officials and Luiz's agent and we are making no moves for him so It a over as far as Milan are concerned

Well, even if it becomes true, at least Carlo will be happy, far better than... Leo or Mou

About Van Bommel, let look at the good things, in order to prepare for the worst:

1. Cheap, even free.
2. Arguably world class DMs, thought old.
3. Add deep. We have 4 DMs: Ambro, Rino, Flamini & Strasser but Flamini is injury-prone, Ambro was injury-prone for about 7 years (00-06) and is now old, Rino gets injured more frequently and Strasser is very inexperient for this important position.
4. Add leadership. Neither Ambro or Rino are a good captain who can inspire the team now (Rino has lost it since last season), Pirlo, Seedorf & Nesta are even worse. And all the 5 often go to the hospital. Van Bommel is Roy Keane type, he can add fighting spirit to the team.
5. Add height 1m87, a good freekick wall.

However, I still can't help being worry

Well:
- Pirlo is injured
- Ambro got an injury earlier in the season
- Boateng is injured and was mainly used in the AM spot
- Flamini has got many injuries this season (unfortunately)
- Merkel and Strasser just joined the team, they will be involved, but they can't play all games, they're too young (more especially Merkel because Strasser is already 20 or 21), and Strasser already got an injury
- Emmanuelson is new
- Seedorf needs a rest

So, as you can see in your list of 9 midfielders, there are/have been problems with most of them this season (of course, not Emmanuelson as he just signed) !!

Anyway, I'm all against Van Bommel !!
So yes for a new midfielder, no for Van Bommel here !!

I can't say I like V bommel on any level , I have no respect for him ...he is a nasty dirty player and has hurt and injured people knowinh what he was doing .
