Van Bommel might not be well liked, but as I said earlier he could be very useful as backup (I don't see him as a starter) for Ambro. Given he's free and only here for 6 months, I'll accept the deal.

As for Ganso, it seems the possibility of getting him is very real. Both Galliani and Ganso's representatives have spoken about him joining (next season as I presumed) and he would be huge for our development for the future. This move could benefit us in multiple ways, as Brasileiro mentioned before Milan's appeal in Brazil went down a little with Leo and Dinho leaving, but with Ganso coming youngsters in Brazil will see this as a signal that Milan intends to keep bringing Brazilians into the squad.

Also, Ganso could be a massive purchase for Pato too. Both play together in the national squad and Pato will probably feel more comfortable with Ganso than the current attackers (same age and both already know how to play together).

Finally, the Criscito rumours have grown again and for me, this would make for a complete mercato.

* I think we're trying to win Scudetto this year, considering all of the cup-tied players, Galliani & Berlusconi want this BAD, I really can feel this by their rhetoric and actions (in transfer market). Then mark my words, we will buy a Left Back in the Summer (unless Urby Emmanuelson can prove to handle this position), and mount a massive attack on Scudetto and Champions League next year that will take Europe by surprise and Challenge the likes of Madrid, Barca, and Man U, & Chelsea..

Can't help but agree with you above..taht the scudetto is priority.Not that we'll field a weakened team in the CL but lack of a half decent LB for the CL will hurt us against Spurs.

Someone from Santos (TMW) said we played our cards really well for Ganso, and despite the fact that both Inter and us want the player, we have an advantage now, but the negotiations could last until July.

GeoTav, regarding buying the midfielder, it turns out our midfield situation is really worse than originally thought. I wasn't happy that we have 10 Midfielders (yes, 10, and all pretty good)... I assume at least 2 or 3 will leave in June but for the purposes of winning the Scudetto, it's a must. The reasoning is that we need some major experience (MvB), to help out Merkel & Strasser in Midfield who have been our healthiest players as all the Senatori have been injured along with Boateng & Flamini. Speaking of Pato being injured all the time, Flamini isn't too far behind

It's a shame everyone's injured and it has come to this, who would have thought that in a very important part of the season we'd be having to rely on Merkel, Mark van Bommel, & Urby Emmanuelson

If we forget how most of us hate MVB for two seconds, we can say our mercato's been great, and if we join both summer and winter mercatos, Galliani and co just did something we didn't expect at all ...

They actually did what most of us wanted: adding depth to the squad, getting rid of Ronaldinho (useless this season, anyway, Brasiliero, any news on his performances in Brazil ? I'm curious to know if that will help him to play better again), mixing youth and experience (Emmanuelson vs MVB, Yepes vs Sokratis), taking "champions" (Ibra, Robinho, Cassano), what is the next step ? Buying WC defenders ?

Milan fans can get picky, it's natural. But I have to agree, that our Mercato of Summer and so far Winter has been very very good. I'm happy with Galliani again, although perhaps overdue, he's making tons of moves now. I think MvB will be good although I don't like him, and don't want him to play over Gattuso/Ambro. However, the mixture of players are good, and our attack is IMO one of the best in Europe (potential for the best)....I can say now that ACM, LB, and eventually CB (nesta), will be our next priorities over next year to complete our squad!

I can't imagine being a Sampdoria/Cagliari/Genoa/Palermo tifoso and always selling your players as they hit their peak....

There's a couple of videos of Dinho in Flamengo on goal.com. They're from training and his presentation. I saw one where he scored a goal from behind the goal.

Van bommel capture is not as bad as most of us think, even though he is 33 but he is still got the grit unlike most of our dms, there is a big IF regarding his character as a person but he is what he is, we can't change that, only hope to limit it, you say he is dirty, i doubt that i think its a classical thing for a defensive mind player all players tend to have this mentality, marco van basten used to be slaughtered before touching a ball, its just the game is getting soft nowadays. i am just happy that we have him for six months

regarding ganso i am hoping the news is true, galliani never talks about a summer target, he said we will see in july what happens with dzeko and we ended up with ibra, i just don't want us to miss on this guy, fans usually are greedy but this guy is too good to be missed. Ganso, juclie and a proper cb for summer is heaven for all of the fans.
