Official Mark Van Bommel

Thoughts please...Can he do anything for us is he better than Rino or Ambro.Not a transfer Im in favour of.

He is better, yes.

Well we know he is a good footballer , but as a man he'll have to convince me of his character.

He is an upgrade on gattuso IMO, both have the same fighting spirit and will to win, but Van Bommel is a better footballer, + he is a real leader on the field. Remember, this is the captain of one of the big clubs in europe!

I'm also not of fan of the 'man' van bommel. But I'm sure this can change as I see him fight for our colours!
In the beginning this transfer was a big NO for me, but now I think he could offer us something on the field. He cant do worse than seedorf

I only hope this isnt the end of boateng or Flamini.

I wouldn`t read to much in to it, he is just a pity buy as a thank you for Riola for Zlatan and Robinho. (i`m sure 100 %).Also he is the agent of Balotelli and a great agent by the way who you`d want to have on your side. MVB possible is better than Ambro,Rino,Seedorf and he might be useful but there was absolutely no need of him right now. So the reason behind his purchase is not of footballing character.

If he still has hunger for one last success,than he can interpret this new "AMBROSINI" role in Allegries three man midfield better than anybody in the world. So he might be useful after all.

Will be interesting to see what happened when Ibra meets VBM on the training ground .

Come on, what is this talk about Van Bommel the "man". Does anybody here know him personally? Let's just judge him based on his performances on the field and not off it.

I'm no fan of his often too cynical style as a DM but he won numerous titles both on domestic and European level, and apart from Barcelona where he was moderately succesful too, he was a sure starter in his other two clubs. Pretty similar with Ibra's record huh?

Perhaps that's one of the reasons why we bought him. Like him or not he's a proven winner, a champion in Galliani's words. And skill-wise, I think he's like Ambro, a DM who is a decent passer too.

I agree we dont know him, a lot of my mates hate gattuso so hard to judge.

i think he is an ok buy but we only need him if we have injuries i hope flamini gets the nod ahead of him though. its time to say goodbye to pirlo and seedorf i think. which for me is a good thing.

We just need a LB and we are done i think.

Not a big fan of MVB either but guess it was a smart move in the sense that its a six month deal and for sure would have come for dirt cheap money. Anyways wid all d the injuries that we r plauged with in d midfield this move cannot be termed a pushover. So guess it s a plus as long as this guy is here only for six months. And guess our priority this season is the League as d ppl we seem to purchase be it good or bad cannot play CL. That should be it for our winter mercato i guess. All d others who were linked with us are possibilities for d summer.

He will be gone in June, and he'll help out if Flamini, Gattuso, and Ambrosini will be on injured, but he will not start over them, non ti preoccupare (don't worry)....

i absolutely hate this guy and am a bit ashamed that Milan signed him and think that the 6 month period is the only positive thing about it and hope to see him out after that no matter what.

That aside, there is no doubt he is a very very good DM who i'm sure can lend a hand in the Scudetto race with all our injuries this season

With Boateng, Flamini, Gattuso, Seedorf, Pirlo and Strasser out for injury, and with Ambro who seems to be in balance to play tomorrow because of a small injury too right now, it looks like the guy was needed ... Very short term solution IMO.

MVB isn't a violent player who breaks legs like I could read in some posts earlier, he is a smart (too smart actually: that makes him be a vicious player) midfielder who always tries to make his opponent upset, he does things when the referee doesn't look at him. Each time I saw him play, he did things like that, like pushing another guy when the referees look on the other side and when the referee turns his head, the opponent is mad at MVB and gets a yellow card for example. It's MVB's style, but I hope he won't do that under our shirt.

Could be very useful for both Serie A and CL if he is used properly: let's play him for 75 minutes before the CL games, to give a rest to Ambro or others for example (and send Ambro or the others in for the last 15 minutes, because I don't think that's a good thing to be totally rested before a very important game, it's better to play at least a little to keep being concentrated).

PS: He has the perfect character on the pitch to be an Inter player ... I think that's sad, but I'm also curious to see how Inter will react if MVB plays against them in the next derby and does them what they often do (Pandev -> Abate).

Yeah, the only drawback from our buying Van Bommel is that Munchen will lose their captain and 1st choice DM when they play against Inter in UCL next Feb. But between having him play against Inter in Munchen shirt or having him as a sub in our team, I'll definitely choose the latter. That's because I think Merda will lose anyway
