If Chelsea can't afford the asking price (if that is the reason the transfer failed), I don't see Milan can do either. If a target of Milan has been chased by
club like Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid, it would be extremely hard for Milan to get the player (very little chance to happen). With this situation I only hope that the news telling Milan could get Alex is true.

I think we need Criscito more than D.Luiz (expensive & cup-tied). And after giving Genoa half of Paloschi, something could happen between Milan & Genoa

To get Criscito, it seems our strategy would be to help Genoa to get Marchetti from Cagliari ... I don't know what can be the way to do it ?

Using our good relationship with both clubs to make it happen, which would make Genoa thank us by selling us Criscito ?

Buying Marchetti and sending him on loan or co-ownership in Genoa ?

Or convincing Marchetti to go to Genoa by promising him that if he has one or two good seasons, we'll buy him ?

Too complicate thing for us. Let Galliani think it by his self. He is master at arranging things like that.

Btw, when the last time that we were so active in winter transfer window? Already 3 players come: 1 great player (Cassano), 1 experienced player (not great but not bad - VBM), 1 young player (still unknown - Emmanuelson).

Yes and No. Yes, if a player Milan is interested in is also tracked by Real, Barca and certain other European teams, then Milan's chances are slim at signing him due to budgetary constraints. But no, I don't think the current Chelsea belongs to that list of teams. Abramovic hasn't really spent anything on this team for the last couple of years. Matter of fact, they are now selling more players than they buy. If the rumored bid of almost 25 million euros were true, then Benfica had no business turning it down. What do they hope to achieve by turning down that monster bid? Milan come in with an offer of 15 mil? Because you know no team in the world would pay more than that for David Luiz. If I have to guess, I'd say that Chelsea's offer was never that lucrative. And that is why the trade didn't go through.

You made good point. Chelsea spent not as crazy as before. I am probably affected how they spent a couple of years ago. I just went to Chelsea website to see new player that could be bought for big money and I found only one name: Ramirez. His transfer fee is probably pretty high (I am not that sure).

I read the news that Chelsea's offer is rejected and Benfica won't lower their asking price (25 mil euros). So, it seems what Chelsea offer was pretty far from what Benfica are asking.

He is a starter of VfL Wolfsburg, played all the matches in Bundesliga (19, 1 goal, no assist, 3 YCs). His club stands 11/18 >>> quite bad form, maybe the reason is McLaren

I think buy Marchetti and loan him to Genoa is a good option. We need a good 2nd GK for next season and no one in Italy is better than him. Amelia's motivation has dropped and we can't count on 37 years old Roma. So this solution seems do-able.

Glad to hear that benfica turned down chelsea.luiz and coentrao is indeed a dream,but ibra was dream too a year ago

.they would cost at least 40 million, but I'd still rather galliani go for at least one of this 2 instead of ganso this summer.
