If he is set for backup for left fullback, it is still OK as long as we buy quality FB to be starter.

Until now I haven't seen real improvement in our midfield except we have more choice but still lack of quality (both Emmanuelson and Bommel capacity can be found in our backup midfielders).

I made that post you quoted after read that we paid for him for about 800k euro (which seems not true - news said we paid 3-4 mil euros). A players who is rated under 1 million euro price should be not a quality player (with very small size of exception from big possibilities). In addition, I am getting tired if we have to take players who has Raiola as their agent.
Firstly, let the guys play ?

Then, we knew we wouldn't improve everything in a single season, but until now, we've got: Amelia, Sokratis, Yepes, Didac (if it's official ?), Emmanuelson, Van Bommel, Boateng, Ibrahimovic, Cassano and Robinho. A mix between WC, experience and youth ...

In that list, the 3 players of Raiola aren't the worst to be honest ...

And to finish, this winter, the midfielders we got are emergency purchases I think with all our midfielders out for injury. Having a guy like Raiola on our side can only be a good thing in this case, look, we've got two of his players, but we got them very cheaply, so if he helps us this way, like I said, that's ok for me. Once they're here, we don't care if they are the players of Raiola or not.

And if tomorrow Ganso changes his agent and takes Raiola, or if tomorrow Raiola goes in Brazil for us and negotitates a 10M deal for Ganso, wouldn't you be happy ?

News from Brazil report that Ganso is almost already ours and will arrive in June ...

http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/milan...dzLml0LTQ0MDg0

It seems the player is co-owned: 45% for Santos, 45% for a firm (DIS, it's a bit like Tevez and Mascherano I presume), 10% for the player himself.

The president of DIS said that an agreement has been reached, we'll wait to see how he performs when he'll be back from injury, but it is very likely that he'll join Milan in June. He added that the deal had been negotiated when Galliani was in Brazil for Ronaldinho.

If that's true, good job to the old man !!

Another brazilian talent, Lucas linked to Milan!!

Brasileiro!

Can you tell me more about this kid, Lucas from Sao Paolo (trequartista)?

Every site says Galliani is working on to bring him to Milan!
This guy is relatively young (18 years old), cheap (I think less than 10 million euros) and seems to me similar to Neymar!
What I have seen about him on Youtube he is very fast, good dribbler, and has good vision! I like this guy and his tricks very much!!!

I know, everybody is talking about Ganso (who is a very good player, with good vision, but I think he is slow and not a good dribbler) and Neymar (who is awesome), but they cost too much and almost the same age!
We have to grab a talent before they hype him, like Inter did in case of Coutinho, and Juventus did with Piazon!

If you have to compare Lucas with Piazon and Coutinho, who would you think will become the biggest star?
And how would you compare him to Ganso and Neymar? Is he far behind them?

I like the idea to buy him, when he is relatively cheap, and spend the money (we should spend for Ganso) for rejuvenate our defence!

The same story's on Milannews.it. It sounds amazing cause Ganso is a very exciting player.

Would love to hear what they're saying in Brazil, cause it seems like the news are coming from there.

Obviously we have a packed attack, but Ganso has the qualities that the others lack.

I couldn't agree more GeoTav! At least we are finally becoming more active in the Winter/Summer markets. At one stage (not that long ago) we were non-existent in the markets!

Plus, totally agree with Raiola! he can only be a asset to the club, the more connections or building relationships with certain agents the better!!

we were non-existent in the markets once. We were just renewing old guard's contracts with very high sums but now it changed. Emanuelson good signings. young and quality player. if he fails, he is a player that we can make money. Van Bommel is an exception, just because of he is a short term solution for our injured midfielders. i dont know much about spanish FB but he is young too. Young players and low wages, low sums.

Regarding Ganso, i have to watch him more as i have only seen him few times before like i said before, he was like a Alex(Fenerbahce, ex cruzerio and ex Parma) with more workrate. so i always said that i'd rather to have Pastore or Honda yet however Ganso is highly rated here, so he should have something. i'll watch him more soon.

i watched him with Santos before, with Robinho, Neymar and with others. Santos's ultra offensive game and their very offensive minded play can relax Ganso more on the field. so i'd like to watch him vs a strong rival and with Brazil NT.

Guilano on the other hand, looks impressive to me. Neymar is great lad. i'd like to have both of them at Milan.

How can you say Emmanuelson and Van Bommel is not an improvement over Stopdorf. Or the bad Pirlo and Gattuso. As talented as Pirlo is, he is too slow and weak to play with the current trio up front. Gattuso got heart and great in defense but he often runs out of gas with 25 mins left and gives nothing in offense.

if we sign Ganso, who'll leave in the summer? Seedorf?

i watched Coutinho many times, he is skilled with the ball, he is great on assits and however, yet he is weak and weak on finishing. He is definetely not a Kaka but good player.

Whats the point of having Stopdorf around, if you have a midfield of Flamini, Ambro, Emmanuelson, Boateng, Gattuso, Merkel, Ganso and Hernanes. Hahaha.

For real, i think Seedorf will not be renew, thus he is gone from Milan-that will also be the day I am throwing a party to celebrate the fact that i do not need to watch Stopdorf's play for Milan any more.
Pirlo is as good as gone as long as there is an offer. Pirlo leaving is a lot like how Albertini left, as there is just no room for them on the team.
Also, I have a strong feeling Hernanes will be playing for Milan next season as long as Lazio finishes outside of CL. I think Milan will most likely send money plus Nesta to Lazio to get Hernanes. Then also sign D. Luiz and Santacroce for CBs.
Ganso, if reports are true, he is Milan already.
Bonera, Oddo and Janku will be gone too.

A "sensational" news comes from Brazil:

Milan will sign Ganso in June

The Brazilian media reported that Guilherme Miranda, the leader of the DIS company that owns 45% of the Ganso card confirmed that Paulo Henrique will sign for Milan in June
The decisive meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro, when Adriano Galliani was also negotiating the sale of Ronaldinho to Flamengo. The Galliani has agreed precisely with the DIS
The "card" of Ganso in fact, is divided into three parts: 45% of Santos, the other 45% of DIS and 10% of player

Nah, I am seeing your name again with sensational news. The last one was not sensational (not like Ibra and Robinho).

Waiting more infos from you.

You described it well Geo about Raiola and I agree with you. I was only unhappy to see 800k transfer fee (which seems not true).

About Seedorf, it is no point to discuss.

About Pirlo, I always do disagree with how people saying he is slow. He is not winger, or offensive midfielder. What we need from him is his mostly his accurate pass and creativity. We needs fast players to use what Pirlo produces. It is not the source of the pass to be fast but the player who receive the pass to be fast. Just like when Kaka, Serginho, Cafu, Sheva was here. Pirlo didn't need to run fast, just needed to see where those players stayed and send them a pass.

Comparing Emmanuelson and Bommel with Pirlo is unacceptable. Both is no close to Pirlo regarding what we lack: creativity, brain and alike. For defensive we have so many players, for offensive midfield we don't need winger since we play 4-3-1-2 except Emmanuelson turns to be a CM or able to play well as CM (left position).

I stated on another post that Pirlo is exp. What Albertini did 10yrs ago. Where there is just no room for him to play in the starting 11. Van Bommel and Emmanuelson are better fit for Milan with the current front trio of either Ibra, Cassano, Pato and Robinho.

Quote from Hitman in another Thread:

2011

Kaladze (4.6)
Inzaghi (3.5)
Jankulovski (4.7)* (think its 3.5)
Ambrosini (5.6)* (3.5)
Seedorf (7.9) (4.5)
Roma (0.7)
Amelia (1.8)
Boateng (2.8)
Pirlo (11.4m)* (100% wrong, think its 4.5)
Nesta (4)

2012

Gattuso (6.1)* (4.5)
Flamini (4)
Zambrotta (1.3)
Oddo (1.5)
Onyewu (0.7)
Yepes (0.7)
-------------------------------------------------------------

From this list, I think following will be gone in 2011:

Seedorf (EPL or Retire): €4.5 Million wages
Kaladze (already gone): €4.6 Million wages
Jankulovski (retire or Czech): €3.5 Million wages
Van Bommel (Depends how he plays)
*Possibly Pirlo sold to Chelsea: €4.5 Million wages
* Possibly Bonera sold to anyone : €1.5 Million wages

* Possibly Ambrosini end of 2011 or 2012: €3.5 Million wages

Following may be gone in 2012:

Gattuso : €4.5 Million wages
Zambrotta : €1.3 Million wages
Oddo: €1.5 Million wages
Onyewu: €0.7 Million wages
Yepes : €0.7 Million wages
Nesta to Retirement: €4 Million wages
