Suarez to Liverpool is done

Suarez - Torres!!!
That has to be one of the best partnerships in Europe (obvously behind our very own Ibra-Pato )

I guess this is the best way to see if Torres really is still one of the best strikers in the world or not since now he has a WC forward by his side.

I'm really surprised Liverpool were able to pull this off...would have thought that Chelsea or even Arsenal would be a more probable alternative (financially speaking)

Regarding Didac, i have to admit i have never seen him play, but he is obviously welcome given he is a young player whom we did not pay much for so the risk isn't big anyway. Obviously like everybody else here, I would have liked to get a top class LF in this mercato, but it's not like there are a whole bunch of them that we can choose from (whatever happened to that Bordeaux guy, Tremoulinas?)

Anyway, we have been doing so well in the market lately compared to the last few ...years ....that we don't really have the right to complain right now.

And all these new players, even a few of them fail (Papa, Didac, Urby) well at least we can sell them for some return.

by the way, there's still a few days left in this mercato, so....

There are news about Vila Didac ...

It seems he could actually be used as an exchange for Criscito !! His agent didn't deny anything when asked, he just said that right now, his player is a Milan player.

It could make sense if Genoa wanted a LB to replace Criscito, we maybe did the job for them: finding a LB, giving him to Genoa and paying for Criscito (5M + Didac for example) ...

I think now that Suarez signed , the Chelsea bid for Torres will be accepted and they'll gain money...just a thought , welcome Vila I hope your good.

I read on a few websites that Torres is not happy with Liverpool Management, as they've done nothing in this Winter Transfer window. On paper, their team should be better than where they are in the table, but they are not of the quality of Man U, Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea. It seems as though Torres has told them he wants out, I don't know if the signing of Suarez will be enough for him to stay. That will suck for Suarez if Torres leaves, and he's stuck at that terrible team. They're really in a bad spell.

In regards to our Transfers, specifically Vila, I welcome him! However, now I hear from other posters he may be used as a bait to Preziosi for Criscito ... very very strange. Does anyone here remember deals like this being done in the past? We have quite a strange relationship with Genoa, don't we?

I also would like an update on Ganso, when is he do back on the field? How is his recovery coming along, and did we buy 45% of his contract? A gut feeling tells me we did....

I'd have no problems letting the following go if we get the players in the summer.

Pippo, Janku, Roma, Oddo, Bonera, Seedorf, Rino, Pirlo.

Merkel & Strasser have shown great maturity in recent weeks as well as personality and more technique/movement than rino/seedorf.

I think we can add Calvano, De Vito, and one or 2 others from youth team as well as players like Ganso, Marchetti, who app we've got for the summer too.

I wouldn't waste time on someone like Criscito.

if we look closer at many of the deals that we have done in the last couple of windows, there is a very strange coincidence in most of them (not to call it a transfer strategy):

- We want Contento from Bayern, we end up signing Van Bommel from them
- We want Eriksen from Ajax, we sign Urby
- We want Criscito from Genoa, we sign Didac (to offer to them later)
- We want Poli from Samp, we sign Cassano
- We want Ganso from Santos, we sign Robinho
- We want Ibra from Barca, we sign Carmona

Seems very clever how we always "happen to want" a cheap player from a team which has another interesting more expensive player we need or how we happen to buy a player we know the other club wants and we can offer in the future...

Van Bommel cost us nothing and is not even a long-term commitment, so the cost is minimal but i'm guessing in that deal we got an option for contento for the summer.

Urby cost us probably Euro 2Mio (average between all the figures that were mentiond) and is a very "sellable" player if he does not make it at Milan, and I also think that negotiation got us an option on Eriksen.

Didac was mentioned to be bait for Criscito
and I posted here previously that Binho (who we know Santos want) could be bait for Ganso

Cassano I know is a bigger name than Poli, but given the opportunity, I'm sure the good relationship we built with Samp in this transfer will favor us over other teams when they want to sell Poli.

As for Ibra, Galliani probably signed Carmona to get the chance to have coffee with Rosell and discuss Ibra

I don't know, but it sound more than just coincidence for me and whatever it is, i think it is quite brilliant

No guarantee we want Contento or Erikson, and we signed Carmona on a free so we didn't have to meet with any of Barca's management to discuss the player.

I'm not bothered with Poli or Criscito as Italian players just aren't as good as they use to be, and neither imo is an upgrade for the team except that the team gets younger.

Our main postion for next year is CB as neither Papa or Yepes have truly convinced so even with Ganso et all being signed we'd still need another rock in the def, esp with the injuries Nesta keeps getting.

The club might look at someone who is same Nationality like D. Luiz to partner Silva, or someone slightly older like Mexes, but imo a player like Zapata who can cover ground quickly and is physical would be ideal esp as us playing a high line and pressing the recovery runs of players like Abate, Silva and if signed Zapata would be crucial.

Ganso has a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It could be quite serious for an athlete.

The question is, is Marchetti an upgrade of what we've already got? Personally I'm not a fan on his, he looks way to error prone.

Milan always liked to have 5 or 6 good goal keepers on their contract list, because many teams need GKs, and we can use these GKs to be loaned out or to be sold when needed (think that we got Storari for free and sold him to juve for 4.5m), and remember when we also gave Abbiati on loan before to a few teams, we also had Coppola...

Marchetti will not necessarily be our GK, but he will be used as bait for future deals - Galliani knows he can make at least a penny or two from Marchetti. I also think we will sign Amelia for 2m. Despite his recent blunders, I think a GK needs to play consistently to find his rhythm and form - and earlier in the season Amelia proved to be a capable GK. At the moment, I'd like to keep Abbiati as the #1, but I'm not sure when Abbiati intends to leave. His contract runs until 2013.

There are more rumors saying "we have put our hands on" Lucas, a new 18-year trequartista who is the #10 of Brazil according to Gazzetta. Other rumors say we are going to sign Ganso in June - Galliani, DiS (who own 45% of Ganso) and Santos (who own another 45%) have talked about the possibility of Milan signing him --- however it is not done yet as many people think. We have not yet bought him, we are looking to see how he heals from his injury and how he can play and then we will negotiate in the summer on a price.
