Ofcourse they lacked spirit. There was no sense of urgency to score from anyone only after Antonini took matters into his own hands and hit the crossbar and woke the fans up, other than that a pathetic display by everyone in particular Seedorf. Game after game, we continue to drop points. So fking pissed, had we won our last 3, we would be +5 on Inter.

More I read this forum nowadays, less I want to participate to it ...

I explain:

- The last few seasons, we had atrocious results in Serie A, we had a bad result in CL 2 years ago and last year, in UEFA Cup, we were a kind of joke actually as we didn't play it seriously (anyway, it's the problem of the biggest Italian teams, they only see Serie A and CL as goals of a season, UEFA Cup and Italian Cup are useless for them).
- Despite that, the ambiancy on the forum was quite good, the posters didn't tend to repeat the same things post after post, like if they try to convince themselves.

- This season, we had a bad result in CL, but we haven't been so close from a Scudetto, actually, we're even in the race for this Scudetto after December/January, which hadn't happen for years ... (we're still in the race: -3 from the leader, 7 games to play, 21 points to distribute, I don't know, is it that bad ?!).
- Despite that, the ambiancy on the forum is quite bad, the posters tend to repeat the same things post after post (sometimes in the exact same way that they did several posts before !!), like if they try to convince themselves.

So I think the best is to do like MVB (no, not the bets ): no more posts, just the chat when there is a game ...

See you !!

PS: For Shegs, as you use Arsenal as an example, tell me what are their last titles please, and what I mean by that is their last CL and last Premier League won, I don't care about cups as in England, there are 2 cups to play and bigger clubs tend to play them more seriously than in Italy (where there is only the poor Italian Cup).

A reason to slack off in the remaining matches of this season, IMO

Aficio, i wasn't talking about thier titles, i was only stating the reasons why the fans can be optimistic.
P. S.
Thier last title was in '04. And since then we've won 2 titles. Important, bt still jst 2.

Oh, I think a new topic or predict something about Inter-CSKA is better. I want to see Krasic & Honda kill Inter badly

I would actually want Inter to make it to the FInal and lose instead as that way, there is still hope that Serie A will not lose the 4th spot for CL in two years.

Bye Geo, take care, hope to see you soon.

For real though, I can't disagree with you, as I really don't get the people in this forum this season. AS all the people here once thought Milan will be a mid table team and would have crashed out in CL. To me, I think MIlan this year is a success, as they really accomplished their goals.

1. Finish top 3 in the league-which they will
2. Make it out of the CL group stage-which they did
3. See youth development/meaning phrasing out the old guards-which happened with Abate and Antonini(27 but at least he is playing ahead of Janku and Oddo). Also Flamini instead of Gattuso.

To me this season is not bad, but having said that the signing of Yepes for next year kind of put doom in my head again. It is like taking 2 steps forward and then walking backward 5 steps.

To sums up, I am happy about this season as long as they make it into direct CL, but pretty piss about the future of the club.

Firstly, there's no point of having a discussion forum where everyone's agreeing with each other's opinion. Upon reading a post I always try to find the logic behind the argument; be it posted by the so-called optimist, pessimist, scientist, dentist, whoever!

If someone keeps repeating the same point or just too damn nonsensical with his posts then all we have to do is click the mouse and we won't be reading his next post. Or simply scroll down and ignore. Nobody's forcing anybody to read the entire post and thus sickening oneself.

Personally I'll never do that because I always welcome differing opinions. They often open up my mind to something I don't take account before. And if they don't (i.e. posts that merely consist of anger or whine) they sometimes treat me with a good, healthy laugh.

And lastly, if I can hang on to the club where his president keeps repeating the same "we're a squad full of champions" thing season after season as if he's trying to convince himself, then I too can hang on with this forum no matter how unfavorable the ambiance in it to me.

This past weekend's result was a huge disappointment, but first thing that I want to say is we are still within the title race. 3 points, especially given how this season has gone so far, can be made up in 7 matches. However, where we are likely to lose the title race is our problems from a medical perspective. The squad's been decimated lately and psychologically we looked blocked and it's clearly showing on the field.

The first half was a very mixed bag and it is what cost us 3 points in this match for me. We started very well, looking dominant, controlling the game and attacking Lazio by threatening areas they were unable to cope with, such as the channels in between CBs and FBs. This was duly rewarded with a penalty and goal. However, from that point for the rest of the half we completely lost our way. We simply didn't manage the game, the players lost completely lost and Lazio equalised. After that we were lucky not to concede again as the players struggled to get back into the game. I was left furious at half time (as my post yesterday says) as many players didn't show the effort they needed to before half time.

The second half was an improvement. We weren't particularly good by any stretch of the imagination, but we did at least press Lazio and create chances. However, besides Antonini's shot off the crossbar, I can't remember a chance that should have been a clear goal. Many of the chances seemed like scrambled attempts for a goal rather than a decent attacking move (maybe Flamini's chance when Thiago played the ball through can be considered here). A draw is a fair result, though had we won we probably deserved it.

players...

Dida - Like Abbiati of late, looked shaky and unsure on crosses and with his handling
Zambrotta - Not a great performance, offering Lazio more space than they should have had and adding little to the attack
Thiago - Not his best game but given the players around him he coped quite well
Favalli - Actually did pretty well. Was solid throughout and dominated the Lazio attack
Antonini - Poor clearance lead to the equaliser, but otherwise a fair performance. Unlucky not to score
Flamini - Another decent game. He's definitely earned his spot lately.
Ambro - A mixed bag, looking like he lacked sharpness on the ball at times, but relatively solid
Abate - Offered a threat down the right and could have scored. He can be better though.
Seedorf - He was needed for his experience and creativity. He wasn't too bad, but had a tendency to try too much on his own and often lost good opportunities to try and shoot and play a ball to the forwards.
Pippo - Struggled to really get into the match and made little impact.
Borriello - He doesn't seem anywhere near as sharp as he was a month or two ago. He doesn't seem likely to score (excluding the penalty of course)
Zigoni - little to no impact in the match
Janku - Added a little width to our side down the left, but couldn't make the difference

I don't blame Leo for this game. He played as I would have with some differences in the system as he went for a more traditional 4-4-2 than I would have. However, we look lost in many ways on the field. Currently we don't have structure when attacking meaning we often seem to attack without any real gameplan. It's difficult to score in this situation, which is evident in our problems of late. We also seem to lack confidence. The team doesn't seem confident of the result and we tend to suffer due to it, as we try hard but to no avail.

Let's hope for an improvement soon, as we can still believe in the scudetto this year if we can get going again.

Mathematically we are still in the race, but just as much as i would have loved to win the Scudetto this year m just equally bothered about the effect its going to have on B&G. They would be happy to keep this team till we get close to relegation maybe. Most of us here need change n correct me if am wrong. I think Leo s done a fantastic job so far with this team. Antonini is just an example of that. I think its time for change n the whole world is talking about the lack of depth in this Milan side.

Kaladze,Oddo,Bonera,Favalli,Seedorf and Boriello should leave.

i totally agree with Geo, as usual

I don't know what everybody here are whining about
of course we are all disappointed whenever we drop points especially when there is a chance to close down on the lead, but for people to keep criticizing the spirit and effort is total non-sense.

as Geo said, watching Milan in the last couple of yrs was absolute agony as not only did we had bad results but we played poooooooooooooor football. after our CL win in 2007 we went from European Champions to UEFA league losers!!! and we were absolute CRAP.

this season we played some bad and some not so bad and some really good football...but what is more important is that we are not lacking in effort and anyone who has seen the Parma match and the Lazio one and is saying differently must have had some other channel already set in his brains.

i am not saying we played good football, i am just saying that the players tried and put the effort but the quality was not there
and what would u expect of a team lacking Pato, Dinho, Pirlo!!! WHAT??? rely on the scissor-kick "genius" of Borriello? or the "reliability" of Seedorf (and even though he failed to deliver in this match, i think it was the most effort he has put on a pitch this season) or maybe on Inzaghi's dribbling and speed?

i am not criticizing these players but i am just saying that we all know their limitations and we know how important the missing players are to this team. hell, even our so called back-up players who could provide that once-in-a-blue-moon spark of life were out (Huntelaar, Beckham, Mancini)

even Thiago, who we could use as the brilliant attacking CB could not fully commit because we had Nesta & Bonera out!!!!

so plz just stop criticizing the hell out of the team especially that at the begining of this season none of us even dreamed of being 3 points from the lead end of March!!!

i understand Geo's bitterness because some people do research and stats and watch every single match and give logical analysis to matches and share that with all of us to end up seeing some ignorant poster throwing around comment after comment that makes zero sense...

i know this is a forum and it shouldn't be a serious thing, but for God's sake, if anyone has sg to say, plz try to suggest that u know just a tiny bit about football and make some kind of sense

and as Nalx said, there is no point for a forum if everybody's agreeing, but if some1 wants to disagree (just like Nalx did on Geo's decision to stop posting) then let them do it like Nalx did and make sense and care about convincing people with what he has to say not just post a crappy opinion.

sorry for taking so long, but i have been reading all the posts and getting furious and not wanting to reply to the useless ones but seeing that that will cause Geo not to post anymore!!!! i wouldn't like to see that happening because with all due respect to the "useful" posters, Geo's posts are the best.

Geo couldn't take the heat, so he went out of the kitchen. If you can't live with that, just follow suit, instead of bashing people trying to air thier PERSONAL views.
