Yes you cannot blame management. Sometimes you need to blame the fans, its extremely poor to see the drop in season ticket sales. Which means less money for the club, which means no big transfer!

I don't understand why management just don't man up and apologise for the mis-handling of the transfer window & stop denying that there isn't a crisis.
They should just say that they are looking in to the best way to handle the situation as it can't continue like this. If the fans heard something like this then we'd have some hope. But this denying there is a crisis when there clearly is one, is what's frustrating the $#!T out Milan fans. Ancelotti & Galliani both said the no call on the penalty against Empoli changed the outcome of the game...They even have to mention that? We have to rely on a penalty shot to draw with Empoli? if that is the case we've fallen fast and hard. Management's policy of having short arms and deep pockets has truly bitten them in the A$$ as they are in disarray & are too proud to admit that they are largely at fault for disasterous position that we find ourselves in. There is no point deductions or excuses. All teams have injuries so you can't blame that. They should have aquired more depth and planned for injuries at any and all positions necessary. Management has proven to be re-active instead of pro-active. As a result we are facing the situation that most Milan Fans saw happening. Berlu & Galliani should both swallow their pride, admitt their mistakes & apologize. Galliani was pointing to the 2003 Scudetto and the Champions League results the past few years as proof that they are competent, competitive & success. No arguement there. But there is a saying, "you have to stop living in the past as it distracts from the now!" IMO this statement applies to our managment. Hey boys get in to the now!!! Now we lost to Empoli in the San Siro. Now we are 10 points behind the league leaders INTER. Now we are in danger of not qualifying for CL knock rounds if we lose are next game. That's where we are now. So don't turn your head and point to what was done, fix what's happening NOW!!! |

Mr Anonymous, rather than the management not being able to admit a mistake, perhaps they don't feel they've made a mistake, despite the poor run.
Ancelotti has spoken about the decisions against us, as has Ambro, and they aren't wrong. This doesn't mean it's an excuse for our failings, they have also pointed out the problems and admitted we're not performing (see official site today) |

That's my point, they have too many excuses for there losses and none of them point to what most people from the outside see as the problem, which is lack of and/or improper activity in the summer transfer window. They should admitt that the mishandling of the summer transfer window could be a possibility for the poor results. Instead they use the refs, last year it was the point reduction & if they do nothing in Jaunary and these results continue they will have other excuses. If Milan were potting 3, 2 or even in some cases one goal a game as we should be, do we still to point to the refs blown calls? Not likely!!! We point those blown calls to deflect attention from our own shortcomings. We are slow and need speed. Can the MilanLab speed up players? No we need to buy players that can help the team, not look backwards and say this is the Championship team of last year and therefore we should be fine. Management must understand there is nothing wrong with trying to buy a player that doesn't workout. But not even trying is even worse. I haven't seen the post on the official website but admitting that they must do better is obivious. The root cause as to why we are not doing well is what I am speaking about. New blood was needed this summer and management didn't do any about it and Milan as a whole is suffering. We will most likely continue to suffer until the January transfer market when some can be done, although we will have ocassional flashes of brilliance our team will not be consistant. |

However, we must also look at the problematic areas of the squad, which at the moment is most commonly in the attacking third (the defensive third is struggling too, but isn't as big a problem). No one can deny we're weak in depth for our attack, but at the same time, we were expecting players like Serginho and Ronaldo to have actually played. If we had them back (or even just one), rather than just Gourcuff on the bench at times, we'd have a few options, and greater depth. For example, Serginho offers width and pace, Ronaldo acceleration and ability to play off the front man and then players like Gourcuff and Gila, Pippo or even Seedorf on the bench, depending on the system in use. Problem is the depth isn't there, nor the options, as these players have had long term injuries. So really I don't blame them for thinking the squad was competitive. Anyway, I really doubt the problems at the moment are to do with a weak squad or lack of a decent transfer campaign. These factors may add to the problems, but it's evident that this squad is more than good enough to challenge for a top 4 spot, and that's the bare minimum. The fact that isn't the case, and that we're struggling in 11th, losing against Palermo, Empoli and Celtic, suggests to me the problem is deeper rooted. Sacchi today has apparently commented that in his opinion it was to do with motivation, which I agree with to some degree. I was appalled at how we played at Siena and for me that was the start of the problems, as we didn't seem to look at that game to see what was wrong and simply looked beyond it. However, after that the same happened again and as results fail confidence drops. Now we're at a point where confidence is very low, and we're trying to force our way out of the problem, which makes things worse when they fail (which in most cases it does). I still feel our problem is mental rather than physical or technical. |

yeah i love Sacchis quote in the paper today. He refered to Milan as "a Ferrari which is out of petrol". Its like poetry in motion
yeah i agree, i wasnt hoping for a revolution in the summer, just some more depth. To stay competitive all we really needed was a decent striker that could have played since the start of the season. A decent leftback and a creative backup for Pirlo. We could have kept Abbiati who would have been a reliable backup for Dida.. Instead we have Kalac and Fiori.. What confuses me the most is why we keep faith in Serginho as he hasnt played a competitive game in two seasons? Milan could spend his wages towards a younger player in the same position. Cafu has been a brilliant player, but then again would'nt a young Italian RB i.e. Raggi or Di Silvestre offer us alot more?

Management, Coaches and Players take us fans for idiots...They sit and make twins of themselves and expect us not to notice...and if we do notice we must not say anything...yes, thats true... if you call a spade a spade especially if it full of rubbish, they try to quiet you...
Poor performance in the transfer market= poor performance on the field... I'm only glad that Milan is not in colombia or Medieval Sicily.

I completely agree with you, Mr Anonymous! Our squad may be good enough to push us through big, knockout games in the CL and possibly make it to the latter rounds, but to think that this squad is deep enough, strong enough, and fit enough to get us through an ENTIRE serie a season plus CL plus World Club Championship is simply ludricous.
I really dont understand management's logic. During the summer, they had to plan on how to deal with injuries, replacing aging players, get players who could change a game or players who can provide different tactical solutions. And what do they do? Nothing. How can we give a striker on loan---Oliveira, and not replace him? Even if we play in a one striker formation, it is blatantly obvious that injury-prone Ronaldo, fragile Inzaghi, and out of confidence Gilardino are not enough to carry us through games. If we still had RO, at least there would be an additional option and dimension to our game. But selling him without an adequate replacement is negligent to say the least. Everyone rants and raves about Pato. We will get Pato in January, blah blah blah. The guy is 19!!! He does NOT have any experience playing football in Europe. How can we put so much hope on such a player? If we were Empoli, then maybe, but we are AC MIlan---our squad should be complete without Pato and he should be allowed to ease in slowly. Look at Gourcuff, he is now 21 and still not broken into the first team. We have to face reality. We cannot keep swaying in the wind finding excuses. IF we win, managment comes out and says we are the best, but when we lose, we start groping for excuses---the ref was bad, we were penalized, we were unlucky, Ronaldo was not available, etc... That's just ridiculous. What would it take for some responsibility to be directed to managment's handling of transfers---relegation? |

reason we had to loan Oliviera out was to get Pato back, one EU player in and out.
