Would be exciting though.
Suazo might not be in the works though. I saw a tidbit on something called tifonet (I think) yesterday that said Milan was no longer interested in him. I've also been seeing him linked to Ajax.

Quote:

I saw Suazo linked with Ajax some time ago, they may even have offered 10 million euros for him.

I'm sure all will be revealed soon enough.

i would be very dissapointed if we end up signing torres for 35 million euros, he has done nothing important on the big stage, chances of him settling in italy arent well due to past history of spanish players, and thats money badly spent given that we can use 20m on diarra and 15m on suazo, and use the rest of the sheva money on gallas, oddo/zambrotta, gourcoff and maybe toni

Remember that getting a world class striker is our first priority. The defense and midfield come after.

but a world class striker doesnt have to cost 35m ... you can get luca toni and suazo for a cheaper price than torres and theyre both proven atleast in italy

For me Toni is not a "world class" striker because he has not done anything on the big stage just like Torres.Toni is been playing well for like two seasons and thats it. Torres is only 22 Toni is 30 !!! I would preffer Suazo , he is 26/27 proved in Italy so I think he is a good solution. Torres is too expensive, good kid but expensive.

I only said that because in your post, you seemed to downplay the need for a striker.

Just to remind us all how good Cassano can be. The third ones got some new tricks Ronaldo taught him.

This sound interesting.....source channel 4.

Milan tempt Torres Wednesday 14 June, 2006

Andriy Shevchenko’s replacement could well be Spain striker Fernando Torres, as Milan line up a £20m swoop.

The Atletico Madrid youngster has been a Rossoneri target for several years now, but the high price-tag and Shevchenko’s presence made the move untenable up until now.

The £30m cash provided by Chelsea for Sheva will prove useful for bringing in the Spaniard, who it’s reported could be tempted into a switch for between £20.5m and £24m.

“I feel that my future depends on this World Cup,” commented Torres, whose contract expires in 2008 with a £60m buy-out clause.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in the 22-year-old, who was his country’s leading scorer in qualifying with seven goals.

Curiously, he’ll be facing off against Shevchenko in this evening’s clash between Spain and Ukraine in Group H.

Man Utd have also been linked with him today in a £25 million deal ... so i should imagine it's just the usual hype with no substance at this stage.

I have read about this too on www.channel4.com
My only "worry" is that Milan never have a good experience with Spanish players in the past.

We'll be having chance to watch Torres play against Shevpound this afternoon and have a close comparison between them would be possible whether Torres is the right choice to replacing the gold digger!!

toni has been a scoring machine since his days at brescia... and i would say he is proven, or atleast he has the most chances of being proven IMO

mystik, i didnt downplay the need of a striker we should definatly get one maybe two if amoroso leaves, but its stupid to spend that much on torres when u can get diarra and suazo for the same price

AC Milan chief Galliani: We were offered Suazo
tribalfooball.com - June 14, 2006

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has played down an imminent deal for Cagliari striker David Suazo.

Both Galliani and Cagliari president Massimo Cellino have confirmed they met in recent days to discuss the Honduras international's availability.

"It's true we were offered him," said Galliani, "but he doesn't interest us."
