Torres is having an excellent game for Spain, and if he continues like this, will be a star of this world cup, as Spain for once look likely to live up to their billing, based on what their side are doing, albeit vs the Ukraine...

He looks good, and we can make him into the finished article...if not Tevez, then Torres!

I just watch Spain trashed Ukraine 4 - 0 and make Shevpound like a "stupid player" who can't do anything for his team.

It maybe the curse for Shevpound "betrayed and lied" Milan to give false reason on his move to Chelski.
I believe Russianmovich start to regret why should he buy Shevpound just for nothing when he watched how the gold digger is actually not that super expensive..????

I also be convinced by watching Torres played and scored 1 wonderful goal against Ukraine. This guy is damn good and the correct answer for the gold digger replacement.

Ukraine has only chance to go through if they could beat Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. But then with 4 goals conceded from Spain they can only be #2 in the group.

torres had a brilliant game but I'm still a bit wary. The cure of spanish players in serie A and his price worry me mostly but I'd still say his technical ability is not 100% proven, he certainly has the physique and speed to succeed in serie A though and with gila being more of a right-place-right-time striker than someone blessed with blistering speed or power he could be the right choice. Personally I'd like a good look at Tevez first though, more and more I'm convinced that the right choice is one of those two.

Certainly if we do decide Torres is our man we should be the club most able to tempt him, we can virtually guarantee him a starting position and we've been linked with him for about 3 seasons now aswell as having good ties with athletico. He would be confident about our faith in him and Athletico should be willing to negotiate a realistic value.

more and more I'm being convinced we didn't do badly from the Sheva deal, he kind of destroyed a lot of the respect and admiration I previously had for him which would make me biased and now evaluating purely on preformance (though not for ukraine today, he was totally isolated) you have to concede that 30m for someone who has perhaps 2 good seasons left in him is a good deal if we get a good replacement (an added plus will be his settling in time at chelsea and the language barriers could mean they never see him preform nearly aswell as he did for us)

We need a replacement for sheva who wasn't just a striker but also a guy who could assist well. Torres played very very well today but did he assist or played the role of a play-maker? I don't think so.

Today, Torres broke through the defence and had great shots, thats it! He is just a striker, not a forward! If we wouldn't have had Gila, we certainly should have gone for him.

Of course, if we can swap him and Gila for free then that would be the biggest steal of the season.

I think you're wrong there rahul as Torres made several great through balls to team mates, he linked up well with Villa and Raul and the midfield ... offering himself out wide and beating people with pace. He displayed all the skills we need in a forward, combine this with our training staff making him realise this potential and El Nino could well be the one for us.

I agree with Meazza though, i'd still like to see Tevez and lets not forget this was just one game.

Sylak, Torres didn't play well ? You must be joking. He had an excellent all round game today, i can't believe you think otherwise. He is also nothing like Gilardino.

Well... more than ever I have a request to the board: GET TORRES, PLEASE!!!. He's just the perfect second striker: he's very pacy and skilled, capable not only of scoring, but also able to supply his partners with great assists and fasts interplay.

Torres played great today - much better than I would have expected him to - but let's not get ahead of ourselves; this was just one game vs a team that never really got into the game and played with 10 men for the whole 2nd half.
Also the PK vs Ukraine was a bit made up and in that situation Torres basically misskicked the ball in front of Shovkovski. That should have been a missed opportunity on his account, instead the ref gave a PK and basically finished off the ukranians, who were already in rather deep waters anyway.
Let's give it some more time and see what he is really made of in the later stages of the WC. Should we decide to go for him, we'd better be damn sure that he could play in Serie A and CL cause 30mil euros - and even that might not be enough - isn't pocket change even for a club like Milan.
