I dont think it's a question of being optimistic or pessimistic. It's a question of being PRACTICAL. AC Milan football club is built to win, not finish second or third. Last two seasons, we have not won any trophies. Yes, we have come close, but we havent won. So what we need are some new signings that will increase our quality sufficiently enough to start winning some trophies again. On top of that, we've now lost Shevchenko. It makes our need even more urgent. If we dont sign some top players this summer, I'm afraid we may not go all the way in the CL, and challenging Inter (with their squad) AND minus eight points will be really difficult. No matter what your philosophy in life: Milan plus Mascherano and Tevez is far better than the present Milan, right?

^ I agree 100% The thought crossed my mind that suppose there was a big secret in this whole scandal thing. Maybe our management used a lot of our transfer money to pay the right people? I know its disgusting even to think of, but it could happen

Anyway back to more +ve talk, I wonder what happened with Milan's initial interest in Henry. Tonight on fox sports I saw that Arsenal wanted Tevez. Why would they want another striker? If Reyes is going logically. Bu What if Wenger makes good on his attempts to keep the spainis crybaby. That could only mean that Henry is coming to Milan

I think there is a possibility that
1/ Brocchi is prepared to play right back, so we do not need Oddo
2/ Simic will play more Central right cum right back, plus Bonera so we do not need any defender
3/ Dida extend the contract for another year so we do not need any GK
4/ Berlusconi agrees with 4-5-1 so we do not need any striker
It looks pretty good and we are done with the transfer.

i like that! i remember galliani said he was happy with the current squad anyway if we failed to sign a striker. football result depends greatly on overall team performance which is irrelevant to how many star players we have.
however, i have a feeling we will sign a striker, who would it be???

Playing Borriello in attack would be a surprise also

i've stopped thinking about it. as you say, after midnight tomorrow I can really evaulate the transfer campaign.

right now it looks very dissapointing, but still we have two days. Can't see any more than 1 player coming though now. to negotiate two would be very difficult.

Marco Amelia and Massimo Oddo would be a nice signing..
then we hope drogba come too..

Alright, its DOOMS DAY. Lets see what does uncle Silvio have in store for us! I hope they satisfy us. Im not sure if im going to sleep, because if I do i will just wake up at the end of the day after all the transfers are done.

There are some questions about that...
1) Is Brocchi good enough to play right back? At Milan's level, not Lecce's or something.
2) Simic as a CB makes sense as that's where he claims he is best at. He's a good backup I think. I was hoping we'd sign a RB.
3) Did Dida extend his contract? I never saw it, I must have missed it. Can someone else confirm???
4) 4-5-1 may not be so bad. Not my preferred, but if it works, who cares!!
I trust Inzaghi as a lone striker, a big IF he doesn't get injured. Gilardino, who I like a lot, I don't have faith in to hold down a single forward position all by himself and score.

1... Brocchi is only an emergency backup for RB... at the moment... Simic & Bonera are the likely choices to play at RB should Cafu be suspended/injured...

3... Dida did not extend his contract... we are into the last year of his contract...
