You can't replace a legend only try to find a worthy substitute and the only ones I see atm are as CB : Alex and LB : Chivu... but that's just my opinion. I must admit I don't follow La Liga so there might be good defenders there also...

Iīm Brazilian too... I dont know what Felipe are you talking about.
If the Alexis you are refering is PSVīs Alex, this guy is monster! I would love to see him in Milan. Heīs strong, smart, good on free kicks, great positioning on attack. I see him as complete defender.
The main problem is he belongs to Chealsea and due this I dont see him coming to Milan.

Alexis is a defender in La Liga..I think he plays for Getafe. Rumours are that Real (or Valencia) have already signed him.

When you say "Alexis" you mean "Alex" from PSV?

He donīt have a good level for Milan and so for PSV, that itīs a high level team but I think they like him offensive style of play

But Felipe is being a star playing as a deffender in Udinese, itīs not that easy cause even have lots of good deffenders and itīs so hard to have any fame between they

I think Felipe already deserves a chance in Milan

Fala Kumm, não lembrava de tę-lo visto por aqui...bom saber que tem mais brasileiros no MM

I couldnīt say it better...Alex is the man!!!
No one can(will) replace Maldini in rossonero hearts, as the man is a legend!!
But as it hapened with Nesta(after the emptiness left for Baresi), Alex can make its history in the Milan...at 24 the guy play in a level only shown for the veterans W.C defenders.

BTW, after Carlo to choose Alex as the best defender of the world, another Milan legend(Marco van Basten) give credit to the guy:
Buffon (Juventus)

Maicon (Inter Milan), Alex (PSV), Terry (Chelsea) and Abidal (Olympique Lyon)

Gerrard (Liverpool), Kaka (AC Milan) and Lampard (Chelsea)

Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Henry (Arsenal) and Ronaldinho (Barcelona)

even though i would love to see him playing another season.. but if knee didn't get well i hope they would win the CL and it will be a wonderfull way to end his career.. i was thinking when all the rumors that he will retiring this season i said: " what a bad time " !
but hey he's NOT finished there's hope he will get better.

No not Alex from PSV, i meant Alexis from Getafe. It doesn't matter anyway as i thought he was Brazilian for some reason, though he's actually Spanish. Oops!

I could have sworn we were linked with a young Brazilian cb who plays in Spain during the January transfer window

He is irreplaceable. we should be talking of who will manage his position when he retires. He announced officially last week in the Milan offisial website that he is going to give it another shot next season. So , Paolo is with us till July 2008.

I like Diego Lugano. Heīs actually playing for Fenerbahce in Turkey.
Heīs solid and have good international experience (National team, Libertadores Cup, Toyota Intercontinental Cup)
And we dont have to break the bank to get him.

No, Alex donīt have level for Milan and also PSV

If you donīt know, PSV is a high level team in the world

This dutch team donīt have so much money like Milan, Real Madrid or Barcelona but if money could bought titles, Chelsea would already had won Champions League

Alex is strong and know how to attack good, thatīs enough, he have lots of deffensives failures and there is lots of better options than he for Milan

Yes, Felipe is having sucess in Udinese playing in Calcio and itīs very hard to have fame as a deffender in Italy, a country that is even borning many great deffenders

My bad about didnīt had say thatīs itīs hard to have fame in Calcio, it really made that brainless people (or person) were confused

About you...

Youīre so wrong and confused that I donīt know how to begin...
Yep, only you know that PSV is a big team in Europe Please, keeps your pseudo knowledge of football for you. Only in this sentence you shows how clueless you are!!
You are saying that Alex donīt have level for PSV, right?? Since we are biased, what do you think about to see what PSV fans have to say???
Just read Alex thread in this forum mr. smart guy:
http://psv.netwerk.to/forums/HTML/forum7/711-117.php
This is the biggest PSV forum in the web, in Dutch, so use Babel Fish...
Suprise!!! Look for the last post(today):

Je kunt hem nog wel een jaar willen behouden, maar laten we eerlijk zijn: Alex is veel te goed voor de Eredivisie. Hij kan hier niets meer leren. Tijd voor de volgende stap.

Babel fish translation:

You can him still a year want preserve, but let we honest be: Alex are much too well for the eredivisie. He can learn here more to nothing . Time for the next step.

This post was after Alex injure that keept him out of PSV games. And besides being crushed by Liverpool, they(PSV) also lose a 9 point margin in Eredivisie:

ow,ow,ow, wat missen we Alex! Alle spelers ,die naast Alex speelde (Bouma, Ooijer, da Costa, Salcido) leken zeer goede spelers naast Alex.
Maaar Alex is er ff niet en dan blijken deze spelers van het nivo FC Eindhoven.
PSV moet er alles aan doen om Alex zelf voor de volle 100% te contracteren, indien dit niet het geval is. Want zonder Alex is PSV niet veel en daar heeft Hiddink ook 2 jaar opgeteerd.

Babel fish translation(a little crazy, but a smart guy like you can read):
ow, ow, ow, what missing we Alex! All players, who played seemed very good players beside Alex beside Alex (Bouma, Ooijer, da Costa, Salcido). Maaar Alex are not there ff and then prove to be these players of the nivo FC end courts. PSV must do everything Alex themselves for the full 100%, contract if the this case is not. Because without Alex PSV are not much, and Hiddink have opted there years also 2.

In this site also http://alexdacosta.web-log.nl/ the owner put several articles about Alex and PSV, and what a surprise(for you):
De kampioen op rapport

Alex 9.5

Babel fish:
The champion on report:

Alex 9.5

He opened the score in the champion game and that is no chance. The success of PSV depends, as it happens, strongly of the presence of Alex. Until the uitduel with Excelsior, in which he burst out injured, the plough had a projection of nine points on the competition and was there success in the Champions League. During its absentie PSV disappeared inglorious of the European stage and gambled it in record tempo its projection in the eredivisie. With the braziliaan the defence of PSV is an impregnable blockhouse, zónder him a breach cheese and remains doubting verdedigers. What a violence ear!

Man, I could post here innumerable quotes of PSV fans about Alex of the first site( PSV Netwerk), but itīs unfair with other MM member that care less about this discussion. But, there you have 117 pages talking about Alex, and you can see that the guy is already a legend in Endihoven. And many consider Alex as the best defender to have played in PSV...But maybe you will say that PSV dutch fans are wrong and brainless, and that they donīt know nothing about PSV, right??
Samuca, I want you to show FACTS proving your points, and that Alex does not have level for the PSV, ok?? I gave to you 117 pages of PSV fans, and they all agree with my point...so, proves that you are right!!! Show me the quotes of PSV fans bashing the player, and saying that Alex donīt have level to play there??? Iīm wating
