Who do u think will replace Maldini?!

since we are now few weeks till the end of the season, and all talks about Maldini retiring and this season could be his last one ..
Who do u think guys could repalce him ( not that there's any player could ever fell his place) but u know life goes on ...
who i think would be the best is zambrotta he is really amazing player he said once in interview he would love to come back to italy and would love to play with Milan.. but i don't know if barcalona would let him go after good season he played with them !!!

Zambrotta is more of a LB/Rb , i think Milan would look to get another solid CB when he retires. Problem is Maldini is in a class of hes own, Cannavaro could be a very short term solution. But names like Chivu, mexes, Barzagli, Terry, Gallas, and Alex have been mensioned. But to who thats Milan managements choice.

I've heard Zambrotta wants to come here, but like Graeme C said, he's an outside back.

If i had to pick from all the rumors, I'd take John Terry in a heartbeat, only 26, and a captain of a team. He could have all the tools, and switching from league to league is probally easiest as a defender.

In November 2005, he announced plans to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 2006/07 season, however he might re-consider it should he still be able to maintain his superb defensive skills. His contract with Milan ends in 2008.

ACMILAN1983 will become famous soon enough
Right now Maldini has said he intends to stay on for next season, especially if we win CL as he wants another pop at the Intercontinental cup. Right now it's not a case of whether he wants to stay on or not, but whether the knee operation he'll have is successful.

However, in that respect, I believe we can be positive. If I remember correctly, his knee problems this season haven't been with the same knee he was operated on last summer, but rather the other one has been playing up. Therefore, it shouldn't be too different from last summer and hopefully he should be back strong next season (though obviously we can't play him every game).

Milan shall hire a new player for Maldini's position because even if he keep playing for one more season, he canīt play many games on a season anymore

Felipe from Udinese would be good to Milan because he can play as a deffender and as a left deffender

Barzagli would be good to play as a deffender so Kaladze would be more used on left side, thatīs a nice option too

But Milan needs a new Serginho, when I say it i mean that Milan needs a new offensive player for the left side

I donīt it is possible but the best option for it is Riise

Anyway, Zambrotta wanna come back to Italy and Milan shall try to hire he

You guys are talking like Maldini is a CB, he is right now but he earned his name on the LB position. Lets make that clear.

So Maldini contract is till 2008 ... then he'll be staying next season i hope ... i thought he won't coz of this problem with his knee and all the news saying that it's his final season with Milan!
if he recover very well hoefully then there's no problem only that he won't be able to play every singel match like u all know.. therefore lots of names coming up i think Barzagli got lots of potential also John Terry but i'm sticking with Zambrotta they could manage aposition for him in the squad he'll make the team more stronger..
i'm wonder in all the names that been mentioned who will Milan managment will choose?

It was his wife that persuaded him to play another season.
But isn't he getting a knee operation after the final? Surly this will finish him. I don't see him playing on, especially if we win. It would be a good way for him to finish.

Samuca (and Brasiliero and any other of our Brazilian members out there), who would you rate higher out of Felipe & Alexis?

I would like Terry or Cannavaro, even if I think that nobody can replace him. MALDINI is legend.
