what do you guys think Ariedo Braida does all year long considering he doesn't manage the players (Ancelloti does) nor does he deal with the press daily or the administrative issues (Galliani does)... he, and his team of scouts do that... that's why I always respect what those guys decide, because they do it for a living, they surely spend hours following players after reports from scouts... for instance, Desailly works for Milan as a scout in France and some African countries... imagine the files they have on players we don't even consider... who thought about Gourcuff before he was announced as a signed player? nobody...

also some weird decisions like Grimi, sure, but they'll have their reasons...

For example Grimi was signed in the January window, because there was a serious fear Jankulovski could be banned for several months after the betting scandal. They chose a player on the cheap.

This is true, SANT...I remember Braida coming to Brazil several times. The guy(and the scouts) really workes here in S. America.
Back to the players:
- Ilsinho(former São Paulo now in Shaktar). Played 10 good games and was the new Cafu, Cicinho, Alves....
Just one look at the guy and you see there´s no way he was a great RB or a player for Milan...and this guy was called for Brazil NT...unbelievble

- Already sayd, but Kompany is hands down the winner. The most incredible hype I ever saw.
- I remember people praing Milan to buy Senderos.
- Colocini
- Dentinho(Corinthians) 3 games in the first-team and we are afer him.
- Every Ajax player is also a must buy.

Talking about Braida and scouts...you have to praise Arsene Wenger. Before any brazilian or Internacional fan knows Pato, he cames to Porto Alegre to watch the kid play in the youth Internacional teams. This guy realy has great scouts, and is always here in Brazil watching youth competitions

I think you may be interpretating this thread differently than we all are...

I desperately I wanted Higuain to join us when he was available, but I don't mean to lower someone. I mentioned his name just a checkpoint so that we always remind ourselves of ... like the thread title says ... not leading us into temptations.

I want to point out that i include myself too in the list of those who pushed for players who were flops. I pushed to sign Chevanton and Kamara, who were absolutely good players 3-4 seasons ago.

I think we should not have hard feelings, cause we all have been proven wrong on some players and at the end of the day nobody can predict the future.
