Ok all you cowards this what our milan is built for on paper we should loose to united some people think we'll get blown out VAFFANCULO!, i know what this team is made of everybody have to play real hard without errors and realize everyshoy on goal is a diamond, i beleive we can overpower Man U's midfield remember carrick is out!, therefore we should see either Anderson or Giggs, rooney is out and they're great striker berbatov will start (being sarcastic) berbatov will most likely have a.valencia and ji sung park on the wings to make life easier for that sofa of a striker (doesnt move) these are Leonardo's choices 1 Do we go physical and push the line up OR 2 go with a light wight midfield to get a fast gol out the gate, and play our game, united will line up with they're hybrid 442 that becomes a 433 when the winger inject's on the side to open up spaces for midfielders etc. remember almost all
united's back 4 will be intact, vidic is back also now tho, it's time to discuss our formation

----------------433--------------------

----------------Abbiati----------------------

------------Nesta-----------------Bonera
--------------------------Silva-----------
Antonini----------------------------------

----------------Pirlo---------------------
----------------------------Beckham
----Abate-------------------------------

--------------------------------R80

Pato-----------------------------------

-----------------Borri------------------

we start with a high line and run right at them 1 touch football
------------------CALCIO TOTALE--------------------------

----------------TOTAL FOOTBALL!--------------------------

Don't know why some of you are happy about Rooney not playing as that would means ManU will be playing an all out defensive game, with one Target man and pack with 5 midfielders and Erva not going forward. The only good thing is that Owen is gone for the season, as Owen's speed would have been a problem when both Nesta and T. Silva pushes up in attack.

Inter have drawn against Genoa. Wohooo. title race still on. Well as far the man u game goes, an all out attack and nothin less for sure. Esecially if Clowneey is not playing. But i think he will play and Miss Fergie is just playing mind games. Eitherways they know we need a 2 goal advantage. So they ll defend tight and in case we sneak in one goal early on,then we really do have a game on our hands. That will make Man U open up to extend their lead, thats when we should strike our second and seal it. I hope it works this way.

we need to be aggressive in OT so my first option for our midfield-3 will be pirlo-max-flamini. the last name i pick instead of rhino since we have to provide another threat beyond our upfront-3 who suddenly comes up in opponent box. From roma game i saw that flamini offer something that rhino or beckham cant provide (since max and pirlo are leo's 1st choice atm), to run upfront without ball and trying to chase cross ball from flank.

for our centre forward i'll pick borriello ahead of huntelaar for physical presence reason as he always fight and get attention of vidic to mark him closely. This will give us chance especially if Pato is ready to come in more often to the box rather than keep staying at evra area.

In case of Pato is unavailable or Leo think he's not ready since 1st minute, i think beckham deserved a shot at OT. For pairing full back belongs to antonini and abate.

Last but not least Abbiati for goalie

siamo sempre.. con voi 3x
Non... ti lasceremo mai !!

Im optomistic now ofcourse , amazing game we lose at home concede 3 goals and I still think we can go through . On the flip side I also have a feeling that we could and probably will have truck loads of posession and score 1 at least , but Utd wre capable of doing nothing and catching us on the break for 2 or 3 goals again I just hope it isn't more Im not saying it will but without going into huge detail you know what I mean.

Pato being fit and available would be great but there is not much info atm.Dinho will be vital for us if he can have a big game then we have a chance as that guy can create and score from nothing , Vidic is slow so if the duck can play he can really trouble Rio and Vidic. Now my problem with that is there is a few if's but we are MILAN and I believe...

The thing about Pato is that, sometime against teams who plays defensive, he tends to do too much by over dribbling. Hope that won't be the case.

Just read the article on goal.com about Milan 89 Vs ManU 99. Ofcourse Milan won hands down. Whats interesting to note is that a lot of diehard ManU fan or EPL fan stated that ManU 99 would have won against Milan 89........HOnestly, I don't even think Cole and Yorke would even have a chance to touch the ball inside the box with Franco and Billy playing at CB. And Tassotti will most likely injured Giggs by his third touch. Anyway, just funny how the younger generations had no idea how great the players were during the mid80s-mid 90s. They were much better players than now maybe not as fit on average but definitely better all-around players.

Rooney out just means that Berbatov would replace him and Owen out means that Macheda will get his chance on the bench: same formation with probably Nani-Valencia on the wings.

And about Owen's speed ... he's not the young Owen anymore, he changed his way to play this season, being more a poacher for MU than in the past. Anyway, he's not a problem anymore (for me, he was far to be a problem for us anyway).

Either way, they are going to play with one striker with 5 midfielders, probably, Nani, Park, Fletcher, Scholes and Valencia.

Im kind of sick of all this Beckham getting a hard on about returning to OT , they Utd fan's don't care Fergie doesnt care. He is pi$$ing me off with all this if I score I won't celebrate nothing to worry about there then atm he couldn't score in a wh0re house with a blank check.

And why is that so? Its a pretty balanced formation in the absence of Pato, Seedorf & Zambro. I would prefer this 3-5-2 instead of Bonera & Abate as fullbacks & Hunter/Abate/Beckham as RW in a 4-3-3. Plus its midfield has creativity + defending capabilities in a pretty balanced manner. Up front Ronnie & Huntelaar combine very well. The couple has scored few goals together, so I would say it could be the an unexpected surprise for Man Utd. Also Abate, Antonini & Janku can supply crosses if they don't have to worry too much about defensive duties. In 3-5-2, Pilo will play much higher on the pitch, so that he can be more influential than say staying long way back and trying for long balls only. We need a change to over turn this massive deficit & 3-5-2 could be the key

3-5-2 is very fragile line up defensively...And what we need on Wednesday is a great organized defense..We do not want to concede...that is primary objective...we have 90 min to score..the goals will come eventually ...if we concede it will be a huge blow psychologically.

I just don't like the 3 defender formations because in most cases, the two wide players are fullbacks and as a consequence, when you see these teams on the pitch, that looks like 5-3-2 actually (look at Juventus for just an example of what I say). The problem is that this 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation is generally far to be good behind ...

I don't see why that would change with the one you wrote, especially with Antonini who is a natural fullback. So by allowing Abate to go forward and not defend, you will have Antonini on the other side staying more often behind to defend. That would just become an asymmetric 4-4-2, unbalanced on a side and with less attacking players on the pitch comparing to our current formation.

Pato and Seedorf are called for the game.

Rooney is also called for the game, his injury should last 3 weeks (actually, he needs a 3 week rest but he can also play, not a big injury, for moment). Ferguson said he won't start and will surely use Berbatov from the start, which means that Rooney will play, probably alongside Berbatov if at some point, we are potentially qualified.

In simple words, 3-5-2 is a great formation if u find players like Cafu, Zanetti, Dany Alves & Zirkov. Abate & Antonini are not great like those, but still can do the job
I have doubts about that. If it was 2-2, then fine, but 3 away goals in the first leg is huge. I am looking forward, but I am not optimistic the way I was in 2007 after the 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich

Rooney is fit.
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/080320...lan-clash.html

Never believed it in the first place that he would be out, especially when Fergusen said "very" doubtful.

Good news is that Pato is included in the squad so he should play.
But better news IMO is that Seedorf is ok to play. He should be on from the start.
I hope that Leonardo can ignore the fact that Beckham back to OT, and play into sentimentality. We need players who will do best, and i dont think Beckham is.
