ManU vs MILAN (2nd Leg March 10 )

Roma game just ended and all focus shifts to ManU game. I hope our coach and players have a great practice and training for this match and i hope like all of you we go into OT and finish the sillly dream of manu of getting lucky twice against us.

Geo please get in here and tell us some stats, that only you can do.

Geo we still have not lost a game in recent weeks opening threads together lets keep this streak going.

Pato is back, im worried about Bonera coming forward, and i hope R80 does his magic on wed.

MU tatics:
1 Defense in the start and plays for counter attack.
2 Attacks in the start to see if there is a goal. Then defense and plays
counter attack.

AC tactics:
Don't be so aggressive in the start and make sure no goal for MU in the openeing of the game. We just need to score in the first half and
things will be changed.

Wayne Rooney is apparently struggling with some kind of injury. Wow what a loss that would be for Man Utd. Man Utd is not a Barcelona at home, they have lost games at OT this season & if Rooney is absent, ACM are favorites

.......................Abbiatti...........................
..........Bonera......Nesta.......Silva..............
....Abate......Flamini.....Ambro.....Antonini.....
..........................Pirlo..............................
.................Hunter.....Ronnie......................

This 3-5-2 thing could take Man Utd by a surprise. Plus Abate & Antonini won't have to defend like they have to do in 4-3-3

In case Dino is freezing by 2 to 3 MU players,

Is he back or is it 50-50 chance? If he is in, that would be so great. Then I guess Flamini should play on right and the front three should be Pato, H11 and R80

I am not trying to replace Geo but the stats here are pretty simple and straight forward. ACM needs to win 2-0, 3-1, 4-3 or 3-2 and then win on penalties. Plus the last team to beat Man Utd at OT in the UCL is ACM (2005) and they haven't lost a home match since. Plus last season Porto scored 2 goals and came with a draw, so OT is by no means a fortress these days unlike 2008

There isn't many statistics to write as everything or almost was already said before the first leg ...

I just searched the percentage of chances to qualify after losing 3-2 at home, but didn't find it. Anyway, that must be near 0%, and I love it !! That means that we have no chance to qualify for almost everybody in the world. The club and his fans (us) are the only ones to think it's more than possible. Said like that, that could be quite depressing, but as we are a club creating history of football, innovating football, it's likely to happen !!
I know that sounds totally unlogical ...

Mzk, I don't like your formation at all. I hope we will never see this one for real !!

They lost to a Turkish side at home this year, and if my memory serves me well, then Milan have not lost any away game in the CL since 2007.

mzk's 3-5-2 is interesting. Yet I almost feel it is too defensive. Sure, Abate and Antonini wont need to pay much care to defensive work, but they aren't THAT deadly going forward either. Moreover, Antonini is a natural sideback, not so much a winger. Abate though... that might very well be his magic spot. But overall, I feel like the 3-5-2 formation would be very interesting for us, especially for future perspective. With Bonera - Sant'Alessandro - Thiago Silva we have three very capable CB's. But we have literally ZERO back-up. Or wait, Kaladze? Favallinho? If we would invest in another quality or semi-quality (Bonera-like) CB, then it would be an interesting turn of events. But this game is on wednesday....

So, what are the chances of Pato playing? La Gazzetta says that today he did some light running and then a specialized weights training. That doesn't tell me much, I am no expert. 50-50 sound realistic?

The combo of Pato playing and Rooney not, could be very much decisive for our chances. United would be severely crippled up front. But even if he does play, I think that if Thiago and Nesta keep concentrated and the sidebacks don't do anything stupid, we should keep him in check. And without Pato, I still think we have a shot. We just have to be more deadly with our chances. Cause we will get a good 3-4 chances, I am sure.

Like mentioned I am sure we will get some chances, the question is how many we give up. Even with Nesta and Tiago we have given up many throughout the season.

We should really start Huntelaar..... I just have this gut feeling he is pumped up and ready to do well in this match. And Flamini and Antonini are hitting good form at the right time as well... Win or lose, we should push Man United to the limit

Im actually for Pippo and Huntelaar in the front if we dont have Pato and B22 comes in.

If Pato is playing i would love h11 in the middle. And flamini must play, antonini must play, bonera must not pass the half way line and he must never hold the ball longer than a second, we need to destroy the wings there defence out wide is a joke.
