I can't see him leaving Liverpool either, but as this is all hypothetical that's not the issue.

Gerrard has the same amount of work rate, stamina, passion and aggression as Gattuso and probably more pace and a hell of alot more influence. As for Seedorf he does have more skill with the ball, i think he can be alot more intricate and delicate with his play, however i think in passing terms Gerrard is equally as good if not better. I completely disagree with your point about not needing them to score goals, everyone is needed to score goals no matter where you play. At this point in time, apart from experience which you can only get through age, i can't see any other realistic argument for saying Gerrard couldn't get into our team.

I'm still talking point 1 here Zlatanov, so the adaption rule doesn't count yet

Gerrard has influence in Liverpool as he is captain there and grew up in the Liverpool ranks. That makes a huge difference. In Milan he wouldn't have any where near that influence. Look at Viera, when he was injured Arsenal looked average, he had such influence on them. Now he is gone and Henry has that standing. Viera on the other hand has very little influence in Juve because he is not there even a year and doesn't have the standing in the club yet!

I agree though I think what we miss and lack is the steel the bite and the player that stands up and roars at his team mates during a bad game. We don't have that and we need that. I think Gerrard would be great I would love to see him in a Milan shirt but he aint leaving Liverpool.

i think sneijder more useful for milan than gerrard. this season seedorf hasn't showed up his best. so i think milan need another player who play the same role with seedorf and the man is sneijder. more competitive for milan squad, more option for carletto

because ballack is 30 yo and to have him we would have to spend 30 mil euros ... actually a lot more than that 'cause he seems to be already Chelski's and the figures mentioned in that contract are just mind blowing. In Ballack's case it's not just you want a player and you go get him, it's not a question of him not being a very good player but a question of investing unreasonable (that was the case even before Chelski got involved, let alone after that) amounts of money in a player who has mostly 2 (might not be even that many) seasons of top football left in him.

2 years??... BS, we have always gone for players at that age and they all seem to perform, the question of age is of no interest to me to be honest, as long as he can play im fine, and from what ive seen of him he seems very fit and he can go on another 4-5 years... and as for his wages, i really doubt he wants that much, well yeah offcourse hed want that but only chelsea would offer that, if its money hes after, ok screw him... but we should atleast offer him a realistic contract and see if hell accept or not.

besides, if its not ballack, id put diarra waaaaaaay ahead of sneijder

I agree for Diarra but if Rui leaves we will need a player that is more attack minded and Diarra doesn't fit this description.
As for how many years Ballack's got left, just because we have maldini, Billy, Sergio, don't forget that they are exceptions to the rule rather than the norm. IF, and that's a big IF, Ballck is one of those players blessed to perform equally well at 34-35 yo as they did in their late 20s, you are right that it would be worth at least making an effort to get him. But how many players are like Billy, Sergio, or Paolo? Not that many really as the majority gets a trip down the hill once they are 32 or so, and the amount of money that's involved in this deal would simply make an investment like this "unreasonable" to say the least.

it's not about the age, mk18, I would love to have a 30 yo ballack if we would have to invest say 15 mil or so in him over 3-4 years. but the money we would need to fight Chelski off him is rumoured to be 3 times that.
Now, this type of money for a 30 yo player is simply insane business.
In this deal tehre are two important factors for me - age and money. If it were age alone, I would fine with it considering how good Ballck is, but you add the "money" in there and it's just a deal not worth even discussing ... I guess that's why galliani never really involved Milan with being even remotely interested in ballack.

which makes me go back to my point which i infact mentioned alot of times before, if its money hes after screw him, but if hes ready to have a reasonable contract then we should definatly get him, it all starts by offering him a contract in the first place, or atleast show an interest

Problem:

We need an attacking player to replace Rui, Ballack is old and Chelsea will raise the price to a ridiculous amount.

Solution:

Let Chelsea have him and go get Juninhio who is a better player anyway.

In Juninho's case being not for free would mean we will have to pay probably less than 10 mil (~8), if it's more than this than Milan will simply NOT buy him. With wages, that would go up to say double that 15-16 mil.
In Ballack's case, "free" meant - before Chelski got involved - investing in him 30 mil on wages. Now that Roman is in the picture - and both sides have proclaimed their admiration of one another - that sum went up to more than 40 mil (45 mil I think) as Chelski are likely to make Ballack one of the highest paid players not only in England but in the world.

Alot of flirting going on between Aguero and Liverpool, and all we can do is just sit and dream of signing 30 yr-old Oddo. We're never linked with whizkid's like Aguero, Messi, Kerlon etc, why? I mean, we got Kaka and Gila, great, bravo, well done to milan board, but why dont they get other players with potential like them? I dont understand.. Sneijder is no where like Kaka, Kerlon, Aguero or Messi.. He's simply another Seedorf.. i'd prefer Ariel Robben (who was reported having probs with chelsea) over SNeijder ANYDAY..
