Oliveira seems like a promising player...hope he is not going to follow Gila's example...Ricardo has good skills and desire to play, so I think it ll pay off soon. But for Gila it means "the bench" then. Anyway I think that buying Oliveira was a right thing to do. Because if Milan d buy Ronaldo (for example), we d have 2 Gilardinos. Whats the point? Oliveira is not going to replace Sheva - noone will, but he can be a good new player.

Ricardo Oliveira

all right, so it's been about 5 to 6 months since we acquire his services for 15 million euros(or somewhere around that area) + vogel + a game Vs Real Betis in 2007, and so far they Brazilian has had 2 goals in Serie A...0 in the champions league...now before "burning" oliveira I thought about considering the big picture. I think he arrived at Milan at the worst possible time for a striker, nobody was scoring, Milan was in a crisis...his shown great pace with "should" compliment both Gila and Pippo but it has not worked that way, often seen as selfish but that wouldn't be the case if he was scoring but he's not scoring, not at all...and I don't think not scoring is the ONLY reason he has not earned a spot in the starting XI, gila didn't score for a while but still got more minutes because his contributions where there...we had to wait for about 5 to 6 months for gila to start scoring again, inter waited almost a whole year for adriano, chelsea's drogba didn't perform until his second season, and Saviola in Barca has been there for a long long time and only within the past 2 months he has started scoring for Barca (although he had no problems scoring for Monaco when on loan)...how long should Milan wait for Oliveira? should we get rid of him and probably lose money or should Milan have more patience considering he is still relatively young...? latest rumors are linking him to Villareal, loan deal I think...looking at his past stats with other clubs, oliveira had one great season with real betis but that was it, his best season ever...before that he scored 8 goals with valencia 2003/2004 and back in south america he was never the scoring machine either...time will tell i guess

BTW some say Milan got Oli to get Dinho but Oli got rid of his agent (Dinho's brother) for a new one in Jan 07...

About Oliveira, I don't think he's a support striker that he was brought in to be. I think to get the best out of him, he's better playing as a target man leading the attack line.

well yea thats proves the point that he was only with us so Belusconi could have a go at getting Ronaldinho.. i think its the key issue, hes 26 so not that young.. it was a big risk bringing him to us.. if you consider players like Suazo had a better consistant history.. Me personally i would let him go, if we got a Torres, Suazo type player i dont think we would miss him.. really it was a compromise by the management, they couldnt get there first choice (Ronaldo) in the summer, and this was just to try and please the fans.. its cost us tho..

Look, I think the bottom line is that he was not our first choice, he seemed like a panic/rushed buy, and he wasnt really the sort of high profile striker we were all craving for.

But, before we write him off, I think the least we could do with our 12M investment is to let him play some games and show us what he can do. At present, Carlo insists on playing Pippo and Gila up front, despite the fact that it clearly doesnt work. Why not play Oliveira/ GIla or Oli/Pippo up front for like 5-6 games? Let him play the full 90 and see what he's got. That's the least we can do before we loan him out or sell him.

with his sister safe maybe he'll be able to gather his thoughts and focus solely on playing well for us. That's not meant to sound unsympathetic or harsh, it's just a hope that this will be a positive consequence from her return.

That said, i still don't see why we brought him in the first place, Suazo would have been a better option.

If Ancelotti were a good a manager not only Ricardo Oliveira but Gilardino, Inzaghi and Ronaldo were playing better too

Oliveira had a webchat with fans on uefa.com today (guess he's not that busy).

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl...id=531926.html

If only I'd rememebred, as I would have liked to ask if he ever thought of passing the ball a bit more.

Thinking about my first team, Săo Paulo, yes, Milan should send him to my brazilian team and I'll be happy

But thinking like a Milan fan, Milan shouldn´t sell him

He have a great level of technic and strong and accurate shot

He deserves more chances

Ancelotti is the reason about Ricardo Oliveira, Inzaghi and Gilardino are all playing bad

I don´t know why but Ancelotti only knows how to work with Shevchenko, Crespo and Ronaldo
