Ricardo Oliveira Thread
It's nice to see that Ricardo Oliveira is raring to go and want to silence his critics. I think he is showing the right attitude.

Ricardo Olivera
This thread is for discussions on our new support striker Ricardo Olivera.
some wanted him sime (like me) didn't and just wanted a big name (I wanted Ronaldo )But we should all welcome him and support him as he is now one of us. I hope I am wrong about him that he will never be fit to shine the underside of sheva's pegs ![]() |

Its just one game, I know, but he has impressed me so far. Especially that little run he made. Peruzzi got lucky, otherwise RO would have had his second.
On a Ukrainian website I found that RO is related to Ronaldinho, like second cousins or something. I found the source to be too dubious to post, but he does resemble Ronaldinho. BTW Why does his jersey say R. Oliveira? Why can't it just say Oliveira? |

His header today, his little run passed 2 defenders, his chip following ambro's pass.. all made me instantly forget about Sheva.
Byebye sheva, welcome oli. Boy,, we sold sheva on the right time. Have we held him for another two years, he would probably worth less than 10m pounds. now we got 30 million + a 26 year old striker with class. i immediately checked sheva's tally in EPL. only one so far.. cannot say i'm sad about it.

Great to see RO silencing his critics ... and there were a lot of them
![]() As for Sheva, the man is still class but he seems to be a bit isolated by his new teammates, especially those players who are used to getting all the credit and don't want to be ousted from the spotlight by the Ukrainian ... Drogba's egoism and desire to isolate Sheva in attack by not combining with him are pretty obvious, I think. Long gone are the days when 95% of Milan's attacks passed through Sheva, now he plays with the ball every 10 min or so. It hardly takes a mindreader to guess what's going through his head rignt now. Anyways, The King is dead, long live the King - Forza Milan, Forza RO ![]()

From acmilan.com
Sheva is old news and by now Ricardo Oliveira is the name on everyone’s lips. The new signing electrified the San Siro after coming on for Alberto Gilardino. For many, the Brazilian was the man of the match and the fans certainly enjoyed the show. Ricardo Oliveira ‘How exciting to score at the San Siro! To be useful to my team-mates is great and it’s important to me personally. Everyone has supported me, even Galliani and Braida. I want to thank everyone who has helped me and Milan especially. Playing with guys like Inzaghi, Kakà and the other Rossoneri make it easy. We did well tonight. I had an opportunity to for a great shot, but the keeper did extraordinarily well.’ Carlo Ancelotti ‘Oliveira demonstrated quickly that he has a strong presence. We have bought reliable players and they will demonstrate this. Oliveira proved himself today and so will Gourcuff. Oliveira is a smart guy, he is well-rounded and that is exactly why I think he will be useful.'

Lets not get too hyped about first 30 minutes of his play. I'm happy for his goal and fast play, but i wont judge him until i see more of him in milan shirt. I hope that's soon and that he does even better than today. Thumbsup for now!

He has definitely impressed. He is fast, skillful, and a very smart player. I think the big plus is that serie a defenders dont know him too well yet. Let's hope Ancelotti starts him in the CL game so he'll have more time to show us what he can do. As for Sheva, he is truly history now, although I must admit that seeing someone else in the number 7 Milan shirt still feels a bit strange.

RO is great. The thing that impressed me was his positioning. Not just in front of goal but the way he made himself opened for others to pass the ball to. For example, the one two he did with Kaka, or the moment where he ran wide to the left and drew the defender with him, while Seedorf got a great shot on goal, or the fact that instead of running in the box, he stepped out a little bit which allowed Ambro to pass the ball to him. Those were the things that impressed me. Ofcourse the way he beated the Lazio defence was amazing too, it would have been great if he scored or passed to Kaka. Well, he will learn and I think that once he knows that Series A has the best keepers in the world, he will concentrate more on his finishing.
