pece, I think a good defence (defensive phase, all involved) is the best defence. Always.

I have read Donadonis statement and he said that Milan can play with Pirlo+Seedorf+Beckham+Kaka+Dinho and one striker, he said that his Milan was played with that formation, MVB, Gullit, Raijkard, Savicevic, Him and i cant remeber its not important, what i want to say, if we play like this wouldnt be first time.
And i know that someone now will say, Pece but in that team our difence were with young Maldini, Baresi bla bla bla, but remener offence is the best defence, and i want to see Milan scoring a lot of goals, i want to see atraction and exibition not boring football with runners and difensive midfielders.
But ALbertini, and Raijkkard were the CM and they both runs alot and make great defensive stop. Also Gullit is a force in the middle whenever he held the ball. Lastly, the players at the GOLDEN AGE ALL HAVE either great speed or the will to run. Where as the guys now, beside Kaka, none of them seems to have speed and only one or two of them runs.
Not to mention the defense behind these players.

If we want to play with 6 attackers like the GOLDEN AGE, guys like Seedorf, Pirlo, Beckham must not be included, not saying they are not talented but just too one dimensional to be in an all attack formation. We should sign players like Essien, Cambaiso, De Rossi, Gerrard, Cesc, Xavi, and others good two way midfielders.

On the plus side, Sheva is making smart runs which are well timed. On the negative side, he is still not finishing. He really needs 1) to slow the game down, and 2) get a dose of confidence.

If he had half the guile of Romario at 39 he'd have scored a ton of goals for us

It's a myth that Albertini had good defensive skills. He had his hand held by the other midfielder all time, Rijkaard, Desailly, even Ambrosini when we won in 99. IMO a slightly over-rated player.

Becks debut
Probably the headline it isnt about the game because people wants to know about this player 1st game.

I watched the game from the 2nd half when Becks was replaced by Flamini. So I cant commenting on his performance. But from what I've read Becks was pretty much sent few crosses but too bad that R80 and co couldnt maximize the balls. And from what I saw on 2nd half that was pretty much a boring game. My only entertainment was to see Antonini played (of course Maldini displayed a good game too made me cheerful ) ^^ he replaced Marek but I seemed always confused to see the difference between them physically from far So it was almost Jankulovski 90 mins for me
The game itself showed that the same old Milan in this new year with the same old problem. Penalty saved Milan when Silva made a foul on Max at penalty box and R80 executed well. But didnt take a long time to see what Milan's problem is. Benjamin easily equalised the game when he had rebounded ball from Dida who tried to clean the net from Petric's header. This come like a cancer to Milan. Having a critical goal from penalty then easily equalised by the opponent Lucky for us that near end of the game Thiago Neves failed to make 2nd for them. Dida played well at this game, glad to know that he saved 2 penalty from Neves and Aogo. And a win still a win no matter what, but the way that we won it with penalty shout out makes me a bit dissapointed. Emerson was the only player who is failed to score on penalty shout out Anyway.. pretty much dissapointed with our performance despite the winning result. I hope some step will be taking to prepare for the clash against Roma. All in all.. FORZA MILAN
