You don't need to speak.........just read

roughly its says that Milan are interested to sign Athletico Madrid players Fernando Torres and vMaxi Rodriguez for 40 million euros.

Rumours about the meeting between the two club's officials are spreading all over Spain.

And a midfielder to be chosen from Ambrosini or Vogel may also be included in the deal.

I think the deal would have to be more than that. ITV here in England said Utd are front of the queue for Torres, the beeb ran a story yesterday saying an impecibly placed source had confirmed the move too i think there is some truth to it as Fergie has been a big fan for a long time. Utd will bid £25m to start so Milan would have to at least match that just for Torres, with Maxi costing another £10m (?)

as i type: Villa 1-0 Spain

the deal with Atletico was 25 million euros with Ambrosini & Dida possibly included ... which sounds cheap BUT as Atletico apparently still owe us 18 million euros, that kind of makes up for it ...

and lets face it Milan have been watching Torres for just as many years as fergie has ... so who knows Steza

and if they do get him ... we'll just have to sign Tevez

PERSONALLY, I wouldn't want to trade Dida and Ambrosini for the two players from A. Madrid. I just happen to really like our two guys. True, that Dida makes a lot of mistakes, and I always remember what he has done for us in his best seasons. And I happen to regard him as an honest and honorable man. So if he wants to leave, he can leave and have my respect. Somehow I don't like the idea of using him as makeweight. I may be wrong, but that shows disrespect. As for Ambrosini, I have watched him since 95, and I always always like him a lot. He has sacrificed a lot for us I don't want him to leave AT ALL.

But still...@ the moment there's no striker in the world as complete as Andriy Shevchenko. Even Nando Torres and Carlos Tevez... I wonder who'd end up with Milan

rt9 you raise a point about the english media that they don't hype up or praise players from other countries. That is indeed true, but this will never change. Why would an English newspaper devote pages to report on a match/matches that don't involve any English players ? In their eyes it's not in the interests of the English public and the media belives we would rather have more sensationalist journalism about what rooney did when he went shopping or pictures of beckham throwing up than read proper and regular reports on matches across europe. It's just the way things are here.

Our CL semi-final against Barca was perhaps the best example of this, 2 of the best teams in the world with some of the best players in the world on display and most papers had the tiniest of newspaper columns about it. I think this is a reason why so many English fans are dissmissive of the opposition in tournaments, because their only real basis of facts are from watching the premiership and reading the papers. They don't view other leagues and matches regularly to form a more informed opinion.

It would be nice to have an in depth section in english newspapers that details matches, players, fans and footballing history/cultures from other countries, even if it was just once a week in a 10 page supplement. But i doubt this will ever happen.
Excellent comments, Jim. I couldnt agree more. It's refreshing to see someone able to objectively criticize the Premier league and the English press---especially coming from someone living in England!!

I live in Bangkok, where 80-90 percent of the population have become "brain-washed" from the excessive hyping of the English league and English players. To such an extent that the majority of Thais are supporting England to win the World Cup. This is not something new, it's been this way for as long as I can remember. The only clubs that matter here are Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal....as for the rest of the world? No one's got a clue. Being a Milan fan, I am a bit fortunate because our club is still the most supported Italian club and a household name due to the history we set in the early to mid 90s. Juve is probably well known because it was hyped up when Ian Rush joined in the 80s. As for the other Italian clubs, the local public dont seem to care, neither do the media.

I agree with Warro. If serie A can get their act together and market their product well, we will defintely be a force to reckon with. As of now, we cant compete with the Premier League. Have you guys noticed how poor some of the camera angles are in serie a games, especially involving the "small" teams? We get English commentary from Paddy Agnew and his clan. As unprofessional as can get. Switch the telly on before kick off and you can hear them chat about their weekend plans, apparently not knowing that they are on air. I can go on and on....but hopefully this scandal will set things right, although in my heart of hearts, knowing how things run in Italy, I somehow doubt it

Atletico Madrid have stated star striker Fernando Torres is not for sale following his impressive World Cup.

The likes of Milan and Manchester United have already been mooted as possible destinations for the Spain international.

Torres bagged three goals as Spain reached the second round in Germany, but their participation ended following a 3-1 loss to France.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has warned other clubs off from making a bid, but says Torres can leave if his lofty release clause is met.

"He has a clause of £41.4 million and anyone that wants him should pay it," said Cerezo to The Sun.

"We have not had any offers or contact with anyone. Fernando is an Atletico Madrid player. He wants to stay with us.

"Fernando is not for sale. We have no intention of selling - on the contrary we are a buying club."

Nevertheless, speculation is increasing in Spain that United are leading the chase for his services and the player would be tempted by a move to Manchester.

Well, is there any doubt right now that the guy to get is Tevez? Anyone watched the game between Argentina and Germany? Thats the kind of talent and heart we need for our side, guys that would kill in order to win. Relentless.

I just watched Germany - Argentina match and found that the Referee was so clearly on the German side.
Look at Rodrigues being tackled so obviously in the 2nd part of the extra time but Argentina didn't get it!!

It is absolutely a "commercialized game" to favour Germany to win the match!!
Germany should be very ashame to have the victory as overall the Argentinians played much better football and just robbed the victory by the referee.

If Italy win the match against Ukraine then German will face Italy and I still remember when Italy totally killed Germany in a friendly in Florence by 4-1.
History will repeat and I personally wish that Italy will again teach Germany how t play football

there's too many "I wish" in there
Germans are germans, when it matters the most they play at their best. The Italians are the exact opposite. That 4-1 was an accident that will hardly repeat itself again in the next decade or so even in friendlies, let alone in serious WC games
