as many of you said in previous posts ... you can't restore a building all at once .. floor by floor is a good stategy. because even if we want to, we can't afford it and it has been a faliure in many other clubs before this mass buying like real this term. anyways, if we get to choose, i think defence and midfield have the priority. not because we have the best GK and the best attack in the world but because we scored enough goals this season using crippled players in midfeild which means that if we strengthen our midfield, we will create even more chances. the other reason is that i like abate/antonini but it appears always that we are very desperate that every "ordinary" ball any of them play .. we see it as a great accomplishment. simply because they are both not that good enough. so here it is:

Defence: we need a backup CB to cover up for nesta .. i recommend zapata ( he didn't do quite well this term but we all know he got potential) + yepes ( a done deal ia believe) + forget astori he is the same as bonera/ onweyo/ kaladze .. therefore albertazzi/ romagnoli will be better .. we need a SB simple because we can't afford 2 but will it be sevilla's adriano (free) or hamburg's Aogo (about 10 mils) or aronica (about 5 mils) or gobbi (free) .. i think the fact that motta played as a sub in roma this season might allow us to lure him away (a suggestion)

Midfield:
we need a solid and creative midfielder to combine with flamini and pirlo .. i think simplicico (free) would be good or Anderson ( want away) or Hernanes (about 10 mils)

so the conclusion in the defence and midfeild sector will be :

In: yepes
zapata
motta/adriano
simplisico/ hernanaes

out: kaladze
onyewo
oddo
janku

Some of those good players are still miles ahead of current Milan players.

I am not saying Milan need to sign 10 of those players in one summer, but what I am saying is that for a club like Milan, they should be signing strikers like Torres or Villa, attk mids like Silva, Gourcuff, and Krasic, box to box mids like Gerrard, Modic, Lass, Diarras...defenders like David Luiz, Vargas... and not guys like Yepes, or Cacau, Mancini... as quite frankly those players should not even be consider targets for Milan.

I mean would someone like David Luiz be a better signing than Yepes?
Or would Gerrard be a better signing than Simplicio?
How about Torres or Cacau or Krasic for Mancini...

You make a good point, but there is a difference.

Galliani signs players like Yepes, Vogel, Dhorosou etc, because they are easy to sign and dont demand high wages. Players like Torres, Villa, Silva, Modric, Vargas or whoever else are going to use the fact that they are in demand to negotiate their salaries up.

Also, players are not stupid. When Milan are in competition from Inter, United, Chelsea, Barca, Real, now Bayern, even Juve (who everyone knows will spend big) and in the future Man City (if they ever qualify for the CL), then why would they choose Milan.

For a talented, ambitious player who wants to be paid well to help his team compete for the biggest trophies, this AC Milan is not the club to choose. Unless of course, you are leaving Chievo and none of the other giants are really interested in you i.e. Yepes.

Good news? His price didn't got inflated.
Interesting... I notice he plays every position in midfield in fall brasiliero. Wnt to elaborate more on him? I see he's often on wings in 4-4-2 but in u20 he was CM, sometimes even deep CM to accomodate for others

He could be a steal. We've had good luck with International players and (correct me if i'm wrong). Style of play in gremio is more physical and suited for Serie A? Unfortunately milan don't seem so interested.......

To me he seems like ideal milan player characterwise when i've seen him. Leader on pitch like kaka and thiago silva.

BTW I'm watching Santos game now. no Paulo Henrique and they look flat, no Rythym. My dream would be for milan to sign Ganso + Balotelli + a player like what i THINK Guiliano is... someone like afellay or schweinstagger who can just do everything in midfield and works hard for team. mmm, beautiful attack.

a milan journalist said on a Milan tv that AC is trying to sell Pato to half of the big european clubs!
another one said it is lacking only Pato signature on the contract.

Tonight Gazzetta
http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Estero...03608784.shtml

writes about Chelsea bid...

there's nothing by chance, especially when a club has no money to spend and Galliani still started to scream at the whole world that AC won't sell own stars (R80??????!!!!!-Huntelar??????!!!!!-Borriello????????!!!!! and in the end he also said "Pato" but he is not credible at all if you knew the amount of money he will get to manage for AC summer market. the only real way in order to lead us out from this sad situation is that he, the unmentionable dwarf, sells milan soon, as soon as possible, because otherwise there will be no market just as the last 3 summer markets.

I won't believe it until I see it. Braida, Galliani and Berlu have all said that we aren't selling any stars this summer, and our budget deficit this is just €9 million, compared to €66 million last year. If we sell Pato, we're done as a big club, because it means that we don't consider ourselves part of the European elite anymore. **** this ****, I've had it with losing our best players every summer. Berlusconi out!

We are already done as a big club. No big club in the entire Europe has negative transfer budgets as often as we do. We are going to lose Pato, that is for sure. Its only a matter of this year or next year. We only have 9 million euros in debt this year, but what happens next fiscal year when we don't have the 60 million euros from the Kaka sale again? We need to do something to balance the books again, so, Byebye, Pato!

Yep, you are totally right about his versatility. I remember of to see Giuliano playing RMD, LMD, AMD, CM, deep CM and even as Right Winger.

Thats a bless and a curse for him, because as I saw in under-20 WC(and in Internacional), coaches uses his work rate and versatility to accomodate others as you said. In Brazil NT he was a LMD, RMD and CM to help(free) Ganso and Alex Teixeira, and also help the two DM's. In Internacional he plays nowadays as RMD(with more defensive responsibilities) to help D'alessandro. It's a waste of talent...

Imo he's at his best as AMD. He needs a coach to put him there and for most strange that this can seem, tell him to help less the team. He's a ultimate team player, and like to help a lot, but need to find a balance on this subject, because he's no Cafu and is always tiring in the second half.

I really good boy in the molds of Kaka(less religious)...

Internacional imo, has today the best youth academy in Brazil and are by far the most consistent in form talents. And as you said, in the south of Brazil they play a VERY physical type of football, so they just need to adjust to the pace and less space. You will see in the semi's of Copa do Brazil(Wednesday) Grêmio x Santos how they will try to intimidate Santos players. They like to brag they play the real football(physical), even if sometimes it's ugly...

He was the captain of Brazil under 20 team, and is really a great leader. The type that lead by example...

Yep, no Paulo Henrique, no Robinho but also no Arouca. Santos coach was resting some of his players to the battle in the semis of Brazil's Cup against Grêmio. Santos was without his two engines(Ganso and Arouca).

Regarding Ganso and Giuliano... it's like Ronaldinho and Kaká. Ganso is more "brazilian" like Ronaldinho and Giuliano more "european" like Kaká. But what is good for Brazil in the near future, is that Ganso(unlike Ronaldinho) is developing a very good work rate. I can see both at the same mid without compromise the team balance in the future. If Ganso keeps this work rate, and don't pull a Ronaldinho, they will be compatible. I hope Ganso keep his actual game in the future...

The Times reports Milan are suffering 'financial difficulties' that Chelsea hope to take advantage of by making Pato their No1 transfer target. Milan, it suggests, are willing to accept £56million (same as Kaka) but Chelsea believe his valuation is closer to £40 million.

Dont worry, Galliani will convince them to send us their 3rd goalkeeper in exchange.

How on earth inter, managed to swap Etoo for Ibra and get paid 40m aswel. Galliani couldnt get a good price for a used Toyota Corolla.

Yeah, but wasn't our huge deficit last year a result of not participating in the CL? This year we made it to the knock-out rounds, so it shouldn't be that bad. Not to mention that we're cutting down on wages, etc.

I just don't understand these reports coming from England that we are in financial difficulties, when Galliani has said that we're fine. Either he's lying or these Pato rumors are just that - rumors.

Thats b/c Berlu was forced to pay for his escorts/friends this past year instead of not paying them the year before.

My point is that if Milan is willing to spend and compete like before, they can really sign great/good players in their prime as there are plenty available.
Certainly not what they are planning to do now. I doubt any real quality and ambitous players will even consider coming to Milan knowing they have no intend of bettering the sqaud.
