Im not sure what are you people looking at... Milan sold Shevchenko for huge money, and now we need to replace him. You are complaining about Torres's price and talking about Tevez or Adriano, and so on.... Tevez is more expencive than Torres, and Adriano will never come to Milan. Ibrahimovic , in my oppinion, would be great in Milan with right training, but you dont want him too. Cassano is in horrible shape, and right now 5 times wors than Torres. Only thing torres neds is more techinque in his dribbling, and smarter shooting. And someone to open him some space ( that is what Gila has been doing this year...). So, what player do you want?? Becouse,we will buy a striker, its just the question-who? Between Torres, Tevez, Suazo, Ibra, Cassano, its clear Torres is our best option. we have the money, dont worry.

have to agree man, i think overall he is the better option....Suazo would be a good option, but Torres is younger and has more international experience... i would still be up for getting cassano as 4th place striker, and letting Milan Lab do their work on him.

What are Real Madrid feeding there players? wherever it is i need some, the beer isnt making be put on weight fast enough

At the same time, it would be even harder to name one single spaniard who didn't totally disappoint in Italy.
I would also gamble on Torres but for about 20-25 mil , although even that's pushin it, because that's money most of which we could get back by selling him to Real M or Barca. But it would be a pure gamble and would do it only because it's not my money
as for whether he will make it in Italy, I think Spain's game vs France was a very clear indication of what would happen if he were to come. That was the one serious, well organized team he had to face at the WC (Ukraine were simply not themselves in that game) and he was totally nullified and taken out of the game. In fact, and I am not kidding, there were periods when I forgot that he was even playing.
With every new player there is a risk but when one player's price is 40 mil euros, his pedigree is that of players, who fail in Italy, and who is great against joke-defences but invisible vs serious teams, I don't think I could call that a measured risk but pure gambling.
But let's wait and see.
100% agree with you, Zlatanov. There are two things I'd like to consider:
- Torres has potential, no doubt, but is an unproven player in Europe and in a major competition (WC). 40 mill in him will be a hell of a gamble. And I do not consider Berlusconi a gambler.
I think he'll do better with Pirlo/Seedorf/Kaká/Gila feeding him, but how much is the 40 mill question;
- On the other hand, we need to hire a striker and everybody is dissapointing me in the WC! Tevez, Torres, Drogba etc. Based solely on WC performance, we need to go after Crespo, Klose or Ronaldo.
The Kaká/Gourcuff tandem supporting Gila as a lone striker is making sense now.

And he has only been playing for a small relatively small team at Atl.Madrid.

So coming to Milan is his step up, same case as Gila... they will improve and hopefully be at their top when they are 25 or so...

Not everyone is a Kaka...
Shevchenko arrived in Milan at 22, and I don't think Dynamo Kiev is a bigger club than Atletico Madrid. I think it worked out pretty well with Shevchenko.

Torres is a fantastic talent and has everything one need to succeed at a big club like Milan. Although nothing is certain of course, and it never will be with anyone.

I would happily "gamble" on Torres...

Cassano was too fat even at Roma, so I don't think the problem in his case is Real Madrid. He needs more self-discipline. That goes for eating, training and playing... We don't need this guy!

I don´t think that Torres was that bad against France that I don´t want him in Milan anymore, Fernando Torres is still a good replacement for Sheva. I also have a hard time to believe that Mr 31-goal Luca Toni (he´s great) would do so much better against a good France defense. Yes I know that Torres would cost more money but that is not of my concern actually, this is where Berlusconi should step in with his money, he know it cost money and he get all the glamor in the world when Milan plays in different competition so I don't think he´s that sad when he looses a couple of mil, this is small change for guys like Berlusconi.

I think that Luca's problem is lack of luck man, he's playing well, but the ball insists in hit the bar or stuff like that. Schwarzer save againg Australia was pure gold.

I agree. I think Luca Toni will be a much much better option than Torres, to be absolutely honest. Torres is not bad, he is skilful, but I won't take the gamble.

we don't need a player that plays like Toni though. With sheva he would have been useful because of sheva's tendencies to move out wide and play off the first striker, Gila won't do that though, he's a penatly box striker. We need someone who can play off the main striker.

It has to be Tevez with Gila, the more I see of him, while neither being better players than sheva, I think they could actually form a effective strike force. We never really found a partner for Sheva, this is our chance to make an attacking unit, all young and capable of being the best in the world in a few years time.

A PERFECT post, as always, dude: the problem here is that people are thinking that Milan has turned into a club like Catania or Catanzaro... in fact, they seem to forget that we are more than a very rich club, we're a fvckin' ZILLIONAIRE club, that can bring any player wanted; on the other hand, people usually also tend to forget the symbolical level that operates on all human matters... so Milan simply cannot replace Shevchenko with a 26 year old honduran player from Cagliari, that's totally unacceptable!

Fernando Torres, on the contrary, is a tremendous young striker, with all the characteristics needed to break big with us... but I'm already hearing the negative voices: "oh, but he played bad against France"... so what, everybody on the spanish team played awfully, Torres is not a reborn Jesus Christ, for God's sake! "Oh, he's expensive"... yeah right, I forget that Milan is a lousy side from Borneo ninth division... "oh, spanish players cannot do well on Serie A"... hmmm... is that a bona fide scientific statement, all proved by empirical induction, or the eleventh commandment from God?!?
