I think Oddo should be ok to play because he didn't play midweek, but Janku might need rest (not really sure whether he played midweek).

Nesta I don't think will be rested, as although he had a knock in the Atletico friendly, he seems to be fine and has had more rest than most players.

Maldini hopefully will play a small part in this match. I doubt he'll start, but may come on as a sub to get match fitness.

Also looks like I might be correct on Gourcuff. Seems Carlo's looking to play two strikers and so I presume Gourcuff will remain on the bench.

About possible lineups, I think we need most players on the field to go 100% full strength, and reserve nothing for wed's CL game even in mind.So Play gorky and favali even simic might be a better choice.

In my opinion, Ancelotti should start giving gourcuff more important role in the first team, not only getting him in within the second half. the guy is talented shouldnt we encourage him and give him more confidence ! pato + gourcuff will be the next kaka sheva in milan's future formation, ancelotti doesnt look forward in his plans. I hope to see gourcuff proves his worth against empoli

I don't think we have to worry too much about the players trying to save as much as possible for Wednesday, as this is a massive game for us. As Ancelotti and others have said, winning this match will completely unblock us and allow us to get right back on track

Interesting first half.
Bad positioning by Milan's defenders and poor defending by the full backs allowed Empoli to create chances rather easy.

Wow where is everybody? HT 0-0. Not too bad of a game for the neutral fan. We pretty much had the majority of the possession but besides a few half chances, weren't able to create anything concrete. A few lapses at the back have granted Empoli some great chances but they weren't able to capitalize. I expect a DM to be taken off for some attacking player if we are still struggling around the 60th minute.

At the end we started to come to life.

Inzaghi has been muscled off of every ball. Gilardino has set up a few good chances, as has Pippo.

Pirlo has made two accurate passes all half.

Seedorf has been plugging away, but he can't seem to get past the Empoli defence. Maldini has played well.

As a team though our passes need to be more accurate, and Inzaghi needs to stay on his feet.

Forza Milan!
