Isn't it childish to repeat the same thing in each post ? Please.

And anyway, results speak for themselves, the three teams deserve as much as each other to win this Scudetto. Period.

In our 17 wins, we won 7 times by more than 1 goal difference.
In our 10 games won by 1 goal difference, we beat the weak Fiorentina, the weak Cagliari and the weak Roma ...

EDIT: In their 18 wins, Inter won 10 times by more than 1 goal difference ... in their 8 games won by 1 goal difference, they beat the strong Siena, the strong Udinese and the strong Catania ...

Inter: 18-9-4
Roma: 18-8-5
Milan: 17-8-5 (one game in hand)

When I see these 3 lines, I still don't see how we don't deserve to win this Scudetto.

And as you will probably reply something like "We don't deserve to win because of determination/motivation and the way we play" (by saying that, you'll probably find something else to say ), I will reply you that if we think this way, the teams deserving to win this championship are Palermo, Cagliari, Genoa and Napoli ... 4 teams trying to play an attractive football and having good results (for some of them: better than expected).

Oh man. It is childish or optimist to think we still can get it. But if we win it after 16/05 then we'll be absolutely deserved. Roma has the easiest schedule and Inter has stronger squad without any major injuries.

@Geo & Sire: I'm for Verdi, of 5 forwards, he is the only one that can play on the wing.

Geo, you are outdoing yourself. Gorgeous stats.
I think Mourinho said it himself, the best team is the one with most points. If we end up with more points than Inter and Roma, then we are the best team.

Sure, Inter totally dominated us in our two encounters. So in a direct match, they'd probably be the better team… but if they aren't able to get more points than our "pathetic" team, then surely they cannot deserve it more than us?

I might be pessimistic since I dont think we can win the Scudetto, but hope is the last to die; I will be cheering FORZA MILAN in all of our upcoming games. But if we do win the Scudetto, ie have more points than the rest, then the reasoning made above is valid. Think about it, winning the Scudetto for us would mean dropping VERY FEW POINTS in the next games. And we would be doing it with some key players missing. That must be a plus for our "deserving" the Scudetto. And Inter losing at least 5 points (-4 --> +1) must certainly indicate, as said above, that they don't deserve it. A so truly "deserving" team wouldn't have lost a 11 point margin.
Should the season end today (or well after the LAzio game, doesn't matter), then I admit Milan do not deserve the Scudetto (which we wouldnt have anyways). But there are 7 (+ Lazio) games left, a lot can happen. Heck, theoretically we could win with +20 points.

I actually do it quite quickly ...

I'm into economics and statistics in my studies (and when you combine both, that gives "econometry"/"econometrics"), so it's all natural for me to look for numbers proving some facts ...

And as I said, numbers never lie ... they just need to be read in a proper way !!

Anyway, thanks for the second part of your post, but I think everyone here make this forum more credible and informative, the debates are generally interesting and most of the posters here are able to be serious/interesting (what they say) and funny (the way they say it) at the same time in their posts ...

PS: For Aficio, I see Verdi more as a CAM than on the wing. It's almost sure we will be playing with 4-3-1-2 tomorrow (don't think Leo will use 4-3-3 with Verdi and Seedorf for example, which would be horrible, or if he had been called, Verdi and Aadiyah). I also would have liked to see Berreta instead of Zigoni as Berreta seems to be better, and I saw him with the Italian NT (U18 ? Don't remember, it was a World Cup if I'm not wrong), he would deserve some minutes ...

We must win tomorrow, there's no two ways about it. However, it's tough to see us winning the scudetto, simply as our schedule is tough and we have so many serious injuries it's untrue. That said, there's no reason we can't hope and anyone who suggests we can't are being foolish. Back in '99 we had no right to expect the scudetto halfway through the season, yet our dreams came true. This season isn't quite the same given that we're not in the best form at this point nor do we have anywhere near a full strength squad, but the fact remains that while there's still a realistic possibility of us winning the scudetto, we should aim for nothing less.

Lazio won't be easy, especially given our absentees, but we must do whatever we can to win. I'd play...

-------------------Dida---------------------
Zambrotta----Thiago---Favalli------Antonini
-------------Abate-------Flamini-----------
-------------------Ambro------------------
---------------------------------Seedorf---
-----Borriello-------------------------------
-------------------Inzaghi------------------

I wouldn't change our initial shape for this match, but it would work a little differently than normal. Dida obviously comes in for the injured Abbiati, with the back four pretty much self explanatory.

In midfield I wouldn't expect Ambro to play as Pirlo does, but to add stability in the middle of the field. I'd give Abate and Flamini instructions to push forward down the right and left, making runs from deep (much in the way we saw Flamini do against Roma). For this reason, it's important Ambro plays to keep the structure.

Let's not forget Seedorf played many years on the left side for Milan. Whilst I don't expect him to play as wide as Dinho, he should be useful on the inside left support the forwards as our creative talent. With Antonini's return and Flamini's ability to push up into wide areas, this should give Seedorf some freedom to roam.

Borriello should move centrally to make up a two man attack with Pippo. Abate coming forward down the right and Zambrotta supporting should provide adequate support on the wing.

I wouldn't start Verdi as although he's a talent, he's still young and shouldn't be expected to be responsible for our creative duties.

Forza Milan!!!
Aficio i like this line up too. But i thought everyone complains about Antonini being right footed passer? So maybe switch with Zambro?

My subs for the game are Janku, Pippo/Verdi, gattuso for Flamini after his yc.

I saw Verdi played near the line in some highlights so I thought he could be winger, if he can be an CAM, too, that means his chance is even greater

Agree about Berretta's talent. He scored more and is more promising but Zigoni is older and was registed with first team squad (N.17), so he shoud wait.

IMO, Zambro's right is better than his left He scored many long shots with his right. Antonini's advantages are his movement & speed, with these he help our left flank to build up play but his crosses are not reliable

Antonini is friend of the left flank now and Zambro is OK at both, so I think it is better that way

Verdi, Strasser, Zigoni all in the squad, but the guy who took our Non-EU spot -- world u-21 player of the year AND top scorer of world cup u-21... is not good enough to be in the squad.....

must hand it to Galliani what a brilliant move

maybe we can't add him to the squad yet because he has no EU-passport

Antonini LB or RB is the same thing as Zambrotta. While he works best (never actually seen him there) on the right flank, Antonini has proven well capable of playing on the left. Same goes for Zambrotta. So switching them around would mean getting a better Antonini and a worse Zambrotta. Knowing Zambro has generally been mediocre this season, I wouldn't want to worsen him any more. Plus, Antonini has played LB the whole season now, maybe it would take some adaptation to play RB even if natural?

Yeah it is strange that Adiyiah isn't even called up. Very. Must be because of injury, not something new to us this season.

Strange with Addiyah considering reports he was showing some signs in training, like a double against another smaller side in a training match....

And what is going to happen to Strasser. He has been here for the last three seasons, making the odd appearance... Obviously, being considered now and then must mean he has something, so should he be sent on loan at season's end, bcs I really can't see Ambro and Gatusso, both similar style players leaving anytime soon?

He has already played for younger teams and been called up for some games.

Maybe he's not ready yet.

I'd realy like to see Verdi get a chance. Could be our Pato sub.

TMW reports the following formation:

---------------- Dida ----------------
Zambrotta - Favalli - T.Silva - Antonini
------ Flamini - Gattuso - Ambrosini ----
--------------- Seedorf ---------------
----------- Inzaghi - Borriello -----------

On the bench: Roma, Abate, Jankulovski, Oddo, Huntelaar, Strasser and Zigoni.
Calciomercato says the same team but with Abate instead of Zambrotta.

I don't like this formation (because of the players). Do we really need Flamini, Ambrosini and Gattuso all together ??
Giving a chance to Verdi alongside Seedorf, or putting Abate in this midfield wouldn't have been better (instead of Gattuso in both cases for example) ??

The worst is that even with 3 DM, I'm afraid they will dominate us and probably score at least one goal (which would mean that one or more of these DM doesn't do his job well).

I still think we will win, I don't know, I feel we're going to have some luck in that game !!

Lazio should play with the following formation (TMW again + Calciomercato):

------------------- Muslera -------------------
----------- Dias - Stendardo - Radu -----------
Lichsteiner - Brocchi - Ledesma - Mauri - Kolarov
--------------- Zarate - Floccari ---------------

I hope Zarate won't be in a too good form ...

PS: 3-5-2 is really hyped in Italy nowadays !!
