True, we are back to square 1. 2-1 is equivalent to 0-0 in this case. But no more possibility of Overtime and shootouts.

No, PKs are impossible at this point - only a 1-1 result would have lead to PKs. Right now, with 2-1, we are going through but Bayern need just a single goal to go through in stead of us - any high-scoring draw, 2-2, 3-3, etc. puts them through.
The pitch is in pretty good condition - no water "ponds", no mud.

Dida just made a great save after a tricky free kick by Bayern didn't touch anyone but flew right into the goal after missing a couple of heads.

meaning we have 1 away goal.
If the score today finishes 2-2 then Bayern have 2 away goals.

Basically we have to win, where as Bayern can go through with a draw.

2-1 is not equivalent to 0-0.

If Bayern score at 0-0, making it 0-1, we need two goals to go through.

If they score at 2-1, making it 2-2, we only need one goal to go through.

Regardless, they are going to get confidence from that goal, I just hope we don't rue the missed penalty. Why didn't Pirlo take it??

At the break Milan have the advantage, 3-2 overall and 2-1 on the night, thanks to goals from Inzaghi and Shevchenko, however a missed penalty from the Ukrainian could prove decisive after Ismaël pulled a goal back for Bayern which leaves them just one away from a place in the last-eight.

Of course it's not equivalent but I think he was speaking in general terms and if that were the case, he was right - 2-1 is more or less a 0-0.
It's a good thing that the break came in as Bayern were starting to build more and more dangerous attacks as their confidence sky-rocketed after that goal, while we looked a bit shocked.
Liverpool now needs 3 clean goals to go through as benfica scored an away goal. Lyon also looks to have booked their place in the 1/4 finals with a 2-0 lead over PSV - the Dutch now need 3 clear goals to make it through.

Nothing guarantees us that if Sheva scored that PK, he would have scored again a couple of minutes later. Actually, chances are we would have went back, as we did at 2-0, and wouldn't have scored that second goal by Sheva. Let's not live in the past and feel sorry for things we can't change anyway, we have to look ahead and stay concentrated and determined throughout the whole second half no matter what the result is.

Paolo Guererro comes in for Roy Makkay at the start of the second half. Makkay going out is not bad news for us but Guererro is a very tricky player, a very sneaky one, and we have to be extra careful at the back.
Forza Milaaaaaaaan !!!!!
