If Milan and Juve are 50-50 on Gallas, and if he is left with the final word to chose one of the 2 clubs , i think we'll regret for not having frenchmen in our team. On the other side there are Trezeguet, Vieira, Thuram, Zebina
They will certanly talk to Gallas during the World Cup, and i don't think they will tell him : Go in Milan

but if he is smart enough, he should also know that ending up in Juve is the same as ending up in Chelsea.

Meaning? No Champion League trophy.

Is Gallas really that good. I've only watched him in a couple matches with Chelsea, and he doesn't seem all that great. and he has a bit of a temper

Giovanni has a spectacular aura aboutGiovanni has a spectacular aura aboutGiovanni has a spectacular aura about
In October he stated: "I've been here 5 years. Time to move. I spoke with a french friend of mine (Desailly) and he told me that if i have to move away, the absolutely best for a football player would be Milan AC "..

I think right now the scenarios are two: from one side he wants to see if Chelsea offers more, and a possible auction between Milan and Juve only has the consequence to raise his future wage.

From the other side, i think he really wants to move away. the official price is 20 Mill but it seems there's a chance he can be free agent, if some contractual clauses allow that.

Football wise i think he is really worthy. Milan fans should forget the likes of Baresi and Maldini. We'll never have such amazing players in short terms. As Kaladze showed, as Arsenal and Barca showed, we can have a very solid defence without amazing names. I think Gallas is very solid and has great phisical power, something we lack a bit. He reminds me of Thuram a bit.

Having seen a lot of him here in JA, (because we are an ex-colony of England, we get extensive EPL coverage) I think he is worth whatever we spend on him, the fact that he also scores goals, and often valuable ones from set pieces, makes him an important aquisition in my books...

he is one of the best defenders around. he is fast strong and scores the odd goal too. he will be france's star defender in the world cup. he can play effectively whether right back left back or in his preferred position as center back. he was recently voted in the premiership team of the season.

I don't think you can count his recent goal against Man Utd, if you watch the replay Silvestre follows him for about 5 yards and then just completely ignores him .... running away from Gallas ...

But yes, he does get a few goals each season.

he's been a better defender than Terry this season, and we all know the plaudits lauded on him last year. Because he's a not a england player though and lacks the glamour of most the other multi-million pound abrahmovich players he dosn't get the headlines as much. I read we agreed to leave him to Juve if they leave Oddo to us, big mistake, I think we could get both as both seem to want to opt for us over Juve.

He's not been better than Terry, but he has run him close and is certainly a lot more versatile (and cheap ) after being one of his biggest backers here for the past year or 2 i'll be extremely p***ed off if we let him go to Juve

If we cant get Gallas then maybe we should make a sneaky bid for Boris Johnson. here is a fine example of his tackling abilities in last nights England vs Germany legends game

Bear in mind this guy is an elected member of Parliament and potential future Prime Minister

Gallas all set for Milan
Tuesday 9 May, 2006
Milan have already tabled a bid for Chelsea defender William Gallas, according to reports in France on Tuesday.

The stopper has recently admitted that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer and Milan were instantly associated.

Now the L’Equipe newspaper has suggested that the Rossoneri are well on the way to signing the international.

Milan are looking to rejuvenate their defence given the age of Marcos Cafu, Paolo Maldini and Billy Costacurta.

They also require some fresh blood as they will lose Jaap Stam in the summer after he agreed a two-year deal with Ajax.

Gallas, also linked with Juventus and Barcelona, could complete his switch to the San Siro before the World Cup Finals.

Steza, that Boris Johnson 'tackle' made me laugh so much when i saw it during the game. I didn't watch the whole match but luckily flicked it back over to see him take down that German player with his head ... it was so hilarious

Go Boris
