Berlusconi had put Pirlo on the Transfer market because his wage is about 13 million Gross per year, and now he was convinced by Galliani and Leonardo that to remain competitive only Fabregas can replace him (35m), so Berlusconi now took him off the mercato as it is cheaper to keep Andrea.

For me it was better to sell Pirlo +15 million and get Fabregas, but I'm not in Berlusconi's pocket.

You have source for that (the bold part)? The last edition Milan players wages I read, Pirlo was not in the 50 highest salaries of football players for season 2008/09 (number 50 was 4,6 mil euros, I assume this is a nett salary).

The last wages from Pirlo I remember was 4 mil euros nett.

So, assuming Pirlo was a first-team and key player of Milan, 4 million is a normal wages (if we compare to other key players of big clubs, this is a cheap enough salary).

If the news can be trusted that Pirlo was valued so cheap, I choose the option we hold him in Milan but there must be a player that can compete with him (like Flamini last year compete with Gattuso) so that he can't just play like he wants but he also maintain his good-great form. This player should be also able to play beside Pirlo.

As Siregar and others allude to I am concerned about the number of games Pirlo can be effective. Fabregas to Milan is fantasy, we need a Pirlo type who is a backup player especially if the new system still requires his role to be as important.

Pirlo's net wage is 6 million. Infact Chelsea offered him the same money but a longer contract.
If it was 4 million it will still be in the new wage bracket system introduced lately by Berlusconi, and therefor would never end on the transfer list.

I read that Galliani reached an agreement with Wenger on a fee of 35 million and had the permission to talk to the player. This agreement needed only the approval of Berlusconi. This was on the Agenda during the meeting between Berlu, Galliani and Leonardo.

There is no Pirlo in this list : http://www.futebolfinance.com/en/os-...ebol-20082009/ (for season 2008/09)

I never heard Pirlo renew his contract, so I assume his wage is still 4 mil euros (wages from 2007/08). Source : http://www.mcalcio.com/494-player-sa...a-is-the-king/

No Pirlo's wage is 6 million clean.

It has been reported various times by various publications, including Gazzetta. Dinho's is 6.5 million clean I think.

Milan

The bold part says that Pirlo will keep his 6 million salary at Milan.

Strange. I tried to google and found goal.com article (source). Yes, we know how credible goal.com is. But anyway, it said that Pirlo wage is around 4 mil euros, just like his 2007/08 wage.

Seedorf can adequately fill his role if need be. I would also venture the idea of changing the midfield shape if Pirlo is out. Something like..

Abate---Rino---Flamini

Where Abate and Flamini have some freedom to move up. We saw a similar midfield against Boca with....

Rino----Pirlo----Abate

Bear in mind Rino can also play Pirlo's role at times.

No he can't. He can only play his own role.

He played in Pirlo's role last season. He does however interpret it differently to Pirlo and doesn't have the vision or technical ability of Pirlo.

No. He never played his "role". He played in his position which is another thing entirerly. It is not possible for this current Gattuso to play the same role as Pirlo. That role is getting the ball and delivering it to players in a good position and to control the tempo. Gattuso wins the ball and deliver the ball to anyone he can possibly reach.

Fair enough you've got me there, I used the wrong term when originally making my point.
