How would being polite, respectful and gracious have any effect on his coaching style ? It wouldn't, you can be a winning coach without all this arrogance and attitude. Maybe the press wouldn't be on his back so much if he didn't come out with ridiculous comments, people would respect Chelsea and Mourinho more if he just learnt to keep his mouth shut, but he doesn't seem to be able to learn this simple lesson, obviously he's not as smart as some people think.

If he just stuck to motivating people, installing confidence in players and tactics then he'd be a far superior coach.

Wow... A political discussion without ME??? Is that possible???

OF COURSE NOT! So here I go.

Being a cursed political fiend that I am, and also understanding the nature of the "beast", opinions made of our statesmen and our stateswomen are only so truthful in what we ourselves believe in as "truth". "What the hell does that mean Kui???"
We only want to believe our own side and not make any concession to accept some of the views of the opposition. We make what is essentially "opinions" as "facts" and really confuse the absolute difference of the two. Here is a rule that should be followed. It is... that ones worldview is nothing more than an opinion and probably further from the truth than what truth actually really is, and likewise any opposing view is equally an opinion and very much so further from the truth from what truth actually really is.
Where is the truth in politics???
Really??? There is no friggin truth in it. There are only sides with claims to knowing "What is best", "The people want this", "God meant it this way", "No... We are right, they are wrong", "I deserve this", "They can afford it", "The rich are greedy", "That President is stupid", blah, blah, blah.
Besides most of our opinions comes and originates from what we hear from other sources... friends, neighbors, family, the media, church, insitutions of learning, and within our own insanity. Putting it that way, sounds like we get this from gossip. Let us ask ourselves... When did gosspi and heresay ever be a good thing??? Sounds like ignorance too. When has ignorance been a good thing???
The best way to resolve this is through some "reasoning", a purposeful way to understanding why YOU or ME believe in what we believe and the motives behind it. MOTIVE... that is a key word in political belief. We all have our personal motives in everthing we do and claim to understand.

So I guess I will start it off then.
I like Berlusconi. I THINK he has been a wonderfull president for Milan. I also BELIEVE in his political philosophy, and am forgiving of his misgivings in statesmanship. I KNOW HIM NOT on a personal level... but I like him anyway. Woe is the day that he no longer runs the club of AC Milan, as this is one of the reasons why I am a Rossonero. With him gone, I still will be a Milanista and thank him for the wonderful years here.

If that makes me stupid, well then it makes any of you who think so, stupid as well. If that makes me a "right wing" nut, then that makes you a nut from another kind of "wing" too. If I dont know what the heck I'm talking about, Do you know what the heck you are talking about???

Actually I dont, but that is neither here nor there.

What I took exception to, was your telling him, to "lick" that portion of your anatomy...or were you calling yourself the animal? If it is the latter, then fine, if its the former, then we would prefer that you not use those phrases.

The only person that I would like to see coaching Milan in the near future, apart from Carlo, is probably Rijkaard, as he is an attack minded coach. Capello, while a good coach, is too defensive minded for my liking.

And as to Milan being predictable, I disagree with you there. There are only so many ways of attacking in football.

Correct me if I am wrong...but you can:

1) Play short passes through the middle, (or using the flanks),
2) Play using overlapping wingbacks, and cross into the box to the strikers
3) Play a long through ball, either to the strikers on the edge of the box, or to a striker in space on the flank
4) Counter attack with pace.
5) A combination of 1 thru 3

Now, so far this season, I have seen Milan utilise all the above tactics, and it is because we can attack in so many different ways.

I dont think we are predictable, I think Carlo and Pirlo are brave, and extremely intelligent to "create" the "Pirlo" position, which is not a DM, but a deep lying playmaker, akin to the Argentine #5, but with less defensive responsibilities (Gattuso/Voegel have that role).

The good thing about it is that, on a "good" day, Pirlo also tackles well.

I for one, will avoid any political discussions, as I am a neo-communist, who worships Fidel Castro!

if milan's tatics is so simple then what do you make of "parking a bus" mourinho one and only tatics? give credits when its due. ancelotti have tried so many different way of playing and when he hit the jackpot with one, obviously he would keep it for a period of time before changing it again. i think ancelotti is one of the few coaches that change tatics. capello, for example never ever change his game plan. He just arrive with 11 players and line them up on the field. when things aren't going right, he doesn't have a clue on how to change it.

He didn't attack your personnal opinnion, just the language you used... and that many of us understand...

if you've been here since 2000, you know it'd be better if you wrote English in the thread... PM Giovanni in Italian if you want... or use the International section...

Hope to read more from you about football...

It takes more than a couple of chats or articles on newspapers to talk about the political situation of a country. It takes lots of study about history and close daily attention to even dare to approach it. Something you never did ( it's clear from the poor argumentations you gave about the berlusconi supposed stupidity).

But you feel so cocky that you not only can talk about subjects you barely know in a language you barely know, but that you think your few chats with italians can represent what italian people think.

I don't know what to say? My dear: the list to prove you wrong can be very long, if i told you a couple of things i would take a couple of days off, something i can't afford to do.

I just tell you that before you can talk with me about this issues, you need to study a bit more history, constitutional law, comparative juridical systems and read a bunch of books more (a few suggestions? Plato's "Respublica" ,Aristotle "Politika" [obviously looking at the greek original text]..Marsilio of Padua's "Defensor Pacis", Hobbes, Bodin, Rousseau, Alexis de Tocqueville to name a few examples ..)

You simply can't make it.

So, without wasting more time, go and study. We'll update in a couple of decades and discuss the matter again.

Come back when you and your grandma have build the countries biggest company, made a football club the most succesful during the time it was taken over by you and ended up president of the country. By that time you two would be about as "stupid" as Berlusconi.
