Sheva;

Shevchenko will not leave, reasons why you ask?

1. Sheva is AC Milan through and through. He bleeds AC Milan. AC Milan have given Sheva all the support and ability possible to allow him to become the great forward he is today. Sheva sees AC Milan as family and his adopted home.
2. Mr Berlusconi and Sheva are like father and son. Remember that Silvio is Sheva’s child’s godfather. Sheva has stated many times that Silvio is like a father to him and that is something that one does not betray.
3. Sheva is the best forward around in my opinion, he has collected all types of silverware with AC Milan and knows that AC Milan have to be the best football club in the world and has no better chance to collect more silverware than with AC Milan.
4. Sheva is comfortable at AC Milan. He is a leader and captains at times. He knows the players and the directors and understands what AC Milan are all about. Tat is family. There is a special bond at Milan that not many other teams have.
..

About Henry? I believe that there is a good chance that Henry could join AC Milan. Why? For the simple fact that Henry knows AC Milan have the best side in the world. He knows that AC Milan would be competing on all fronts every year. He also knows that with Sheva, Henry could form one of the most devastating partnerships ever.
..
Now for reasons AC Milan would like to purchase Henry. The man is 28 years old. Has a good 4 maybe 5 years left in his legs. He would again form a devastating partnership with Sheva up front. A forth striker would be handy in case of injuries which can not be helped. Henry would ass pace to the AC Milan attack. Henry is a player who likes to run with the ball and play a quick game but also patient. With Kaka, Henry would be able to take some of the pressure off Kaka and Sheva with his dribbling skills. AC Milan could net Henry at a knock down fee if he wants to join AC Milan and expresses thaqt to Arsenal.
..
Now moving onto Gallas. I have watched Gallas play may times of the course of the season and I must say that I was very impressed. Gallas is a powerful and skilled defender and likes to get forward at times. Gallas has a good understanding of the game and positions himself well. Him and Nesta at the center of the defence would be great. They are about the same age and Gallas could learn to read the game even better with Nesta and Maldini by his side. If possible AC Milan should attempt to get Gallas on a free transfer.
..
Diarra!!!
M. Diarra impressed me when we played Lyon in the Champions League. Diarra would bring some ball winning ability to the teams and that ever so needed presences in midfield. Correct me if I’m wrong but games are won through the midfield. The midfield controls the game. It helps the defence and attack. Without a good midfield its hard to score and easy to concede. Diarra would add strength and stability to our midfield. He is young and can learn much of our other players. Pirlo and Gattuso. The question is. How much would it cost to bring in Diarra. Maybe 15 million pound. But it would be money well spent.
..
Now many people say, If Henry comes to AC Milan, what would happen to Gilardino or Inzaghi. Nothing would happen. It would be a matter of rotation. Gilardino still has much to learn. He is a very good player and will be great in the future. He scored 17 goals in serie A this season, the same a Sheva without the penalties Sheva scored. The World Cup is approaching and after it, the rumour mill be in effect. Stars will be made and prices will rise. That’s why Milan should act now

Gallas Confirms: I Want Out

William Gallas has told Chelsea he wants to leave the club
The Frenchman has been a key figure in Chelsea’s two championship successes but wants a new challenge.

"My decision has been taken and is definitive: I want to leave Chelsea," he said.

"I want another challenge. I've been with Chelsea for five years. I want to experience another league.

"I have been here five years and maybe that's enough. I am a man who wants to win everything and I want to do that in different countries.

He added: "The directors of Milan are interested in me, and I am interested in the idea of going to play over there."

I'm very glad to see Gallas' intent on joining Milan. I believe a certain Milan legend known as the rock advised him well.
However, I believe most of you are missing clincher that would seal this deal. Which is Sheva will go to Chelsea. As much as this hurts, I believe Sheva has played his last match with Milan game, and for Gallas and maybe Crespo swap, Sheva will leave.

I wouldnt exactly call it a "Clincher", not from our point of view anyway. I mean we are giving away one of the best strikers we have ever seen and getting a very good player with a couple of seasons to go at his best. What ever happened to "Milan doesnt sell its best players".

Just say we get 30 million for Sheva who has probably 2 years at his peak. Its a good deal financially, but it would be like ripping the soul out of the side. Besides, who is to say we will spend the money on a replacement? Galliani is going mad about his new stadium idea. For all we know Galliani will just go and sign some other free player to fill another damn gap. Sooner or later with these stingy tactics we will burst. If we are honest we already have and the only thing that can fix us is a cash injection into the starting eleven.

If anyone needs to go its not Sheva, its not Carlo it is Galliani. He has done some good things at the club, but his transfer policy has put the club under a sedative and we need to close up the free to enter nursery home he is trying to build and start bringing in players like Essien, Diara, Alex and Daniel Alves when they pop up.

Another possibility is that sheva wants to stay, but Berlusconi wants to cash in and is trying to get the ball rolling.

I had vowed to come back to my Milanmania family at the beginning of the next season, but Sheva, Gallas news are enough for me to come out of hibernation and input my 2 cents.
As much as most of you and I dont even want to give any scintilla of thought to Sheva leaving, I believe he has played his last match for Milan. These rumours about Sheva have been consistent for 2 seasons now, and I can't remember or recall where Sheva has categorically denied this claims. As much I hate revealing my name on this forum; below is first, a column written by Gabrielle Marcotti, a reliable and respected football/soccer journalist whom reported on a column of Sheva leaving. After reading the column I was sick and sent him a tongue lashing to which he was kind enough to respond.
Below is what he reported on March 30 and link below http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...gue/index.html

Extra time

Speaking of Milan, Andriy Shevchenko laughed off suggestions that he would be moving to Chelsea in the summer for a fee of close to $60 million. In fact, Chelsea sources tell me that the deal is done, except for the fee. If Milan is really being offered $60 million, it makes sense to let him go. As good as he is, he turns 30 in September, the age at which most strikers suffer a sharp decline. And $60 million is a huge amount these days -- in fact, it's more than anyone has paid for any player since 2001, when Zinedine Zidane moved to Real

Like I said was so sick here is what I wrote him back and he kindly responded:

Mailbag My comments below
I truly disagree with you that since Andriy Shevchenko is 30, Milan should sell him [March 30 column]. You are very stupid for making such a comment. I'll give you two names -- Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto'o -- as probably the best all-around, complete scorers and creators in the game. Sheva has always been at the top and is arguably the best striker in the world. I know you are a busy guy, but prove to me and the rest of the world that you are not damned by your comments: If Milan is to sell Sheva, give a list of five good all-around strikers who can fill Sheva's shoes in Milan. Don't list Eto'o, because Barça would never sell, and don't list poachers like Carlos Tévez, because we have two in Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino. And remember players who can create and score like Sheva. Just because a guy is 30 doesn't mean he has lost his skills. By the way, when Juve sold Zinedine Zidane, his skills were not on the decline; he has consistently been the only Galáctico worth talking about in recent years, and how old was he? As you know, finding good and consistent strikers is not easy.
-- David Zamora, Arlington, Va.

Gabrielle Marcotti's comments

Well, first of all, thanks for calling me stupid. Now, on to your point about Shevchenko. No player is indispensable; everybody has his price. It's a question of simple economics coupled with age: $60 million is an enormous amount of money in the current market. It would be the fourth highest transfer fee ever, behind Zidane to Real Madrid, Hernán Crespo to Lazio and Luis Figo to Real Madrid.

But of those three transfers, the most recent dates back to 2001, which gives you some idea of how the market has effectively crashed. The only team spending serious money is Chelsea, thanks to Roman Abramovich. What this means is that $20 million will go a heck of a lot farther today than it did five years ago. Two summers ago, for $60 million, you could have bought, for example, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and had change left over.

You mention Zidane. When he left Juventus he was 29, a year younger than Shevchenko. With Zidane, Real won a European Cup and two Spanish titles. And he is now tied to a long-term contract through 2008, when he'll be 37. Whether that's smart business or not remains to be seen. With the money raised from the sale of Zidane, Juventus bought Lillian Thuram and Gigi Buffon, going on to win four Serie A titles and reaching the final of Champions League. I, for one, would argue Juve got the better deal, at least in terms of trophies won.

With Shevchenko, the argument is even more clear-cut. His transfer fee buys a heck of a lot more today than it did in 2001, when Zidane was sold. More importantly, the skills of strikers decline more rapidly than those of players like Zidane. You want evidence? In the three years before turning 30, Inzaghi scored 38 in 78 matches. In the three following seasons, he notched 13 in 43. There are plenty more examples: Christian Vieri went from 64 goals in 75 games to 29 in 54. Gabriel Batistuta fell from 55 in 91 to 49 in 81. Dennis Bergkamp went from 40 in 86 to 18 in 86. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink went from 70 in 104 to 37 in 102. Need I go on?

The point is, statistically, strikers often suffer a severe drop-off after they turn 30. Milan will need to replace Shevchenko at some point -- this is a way to cash in now before the inevitable decline. I agree, it only makes sense if you can get the right price. Sixty million sounds like enough to me -- maybe they should hold out for more. But the point is that you can't ignore offers like that.

As for who would replace him, obviously you can't just go and buy somebody as good as Shevchenko. You have to look for someone who could grow into a comparable player. Personally, I disagree that Gilardino is just a "poacher." He led the line on his own at Parma for two seasons and did exceptionally well. Maybe the answer is finding somebody to play off him, while spending the rest of the money on strengthening the back line. There are many solutions. I wouldn't be so sure that Barça would never sell Eto'o, either. If Henry moves to the Nou Camp, I don't see Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry and Eto'o all playing together in the same lineup. Someone will be the odd man out and it could well be Eto'o.

If, and this is a big if, you could sell Shevchenko for $60 million and sign, say Gonzalo Rodriguez from Villarreal, Mahamadou Diarra from Lyon and Carlos Tévez from Corinthians, would Milan be better off? I think so.

Link:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....truths/1.html

At first I did not want to believe or even agree these stupid claims the guy was making. But more and more I see why Milan will sell Sheva. As I pointed out I could not see anybody apart from Henry who would comfortably fit in Sheva's shoes. Players like Sheva who can score, create, dribble, head, comfortable with both feet don't come around everyday.

Gallas' transfer will not be a cash transfer, and more and more I'm prepared to see a vacant Number 7 in Milan next season.

Well this is off topic, but soccernet.com has just reported that Berlu told a group of school childrent that Sheva wanted to go to the Premiere league...just go to soccernet.com..its the lead story...still not definitive, but the closest example yet that Sheva may not be here next term...

Gallas and Crespo are to be in part exchange....

But importantly, his agent has said that nothing is final..but if he goes, then, good luck Sheva, thanks for the memories, the trophies, and the goals...

And welcome Henry..a player who will not see a significant drop in our attacking standard.

AND AS ALWAYS.........FORZA MIIIIIIIIIILAN...my club is bigger than any single player.

Rastaman , Sheva is out the door. Henry would be a dream signing, however the Henry sweepstakes if he decides to leave will go to Barca.
Losing Sheva will be a big blow, in that it's hard to find an adequate replacment, but we will go on.
On the plus side securing Gallas, will fortify a central defensive partnership with Sandro that will set us up for the next five years.

Do svi danya Sheva!

I'm not sure if this is from BBC, Sky or where. It was posted in a general football forum....

Chelsea block Gallas move
Friday 12 May, 2006
Chelsea have this afternoon told Milan that they have no intention of allowing William Gallas to join them this summer.

Gallas this morning indicated that he was interested in a Rossoneri switch after making the decision to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit.

But the Premiership champions have issued a statement in which they have noted that they are ready to block the Frenchman’s proposed exit.

“William Gallas has made a great contribution to Chelsea since he has been here and he has been offered a very good new contract in recognition of that," said the club.

"That contract is still on offer and we would like him to be at Chelsea for the next four years,” they continued.

"If it is not accepted, then William is still under contract for one more year and we will not be encouraging offers for players that we want to keep.

"Under Premier League rules he would be able to leave at the end of next season on a free transfer."

***

I wonder if Chelsea isn't playing games to try to send Gallas as part of a deal for Sheva?

milan's policy is clear, the leave great players go only if they want to go and make the first step.

if sheva will leave, please, do me a damn favour and don't blame carlo or galliani or silvio, who threated him as a son.
