I'm not sure why people are comparing Messi and Tevez. One is a goal creator/provider and the other is a goal scorer. There roles for their respective teams are completely different so a comparison about who is better seems a bit misguided.

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has dampened speculation that he will join Milan this summer.

The Argentinian enjoyed a successful loan spell at the San Siro in the 2004/05 season and has been linked with a return.

However, he admits that any possible transfer could be complicated by the match-fixing scandal in Italy.

"With Milan there is nothing concrete and unfortunately the scandal situation doesn't help the transfer market," he said.

"I'd willingly come back to Italy, despite the fact that I feel good at Chelsea."

Please don't come to Milan even if we do get relegated.

Why whats wrong with Crespo? The time that he spent with us he was very valuable and really impressed me.....ill rather have him than Amoruso so get Crespo sell Amoruso and get another world class striker to replace sheva.

Crespo would actually be a good option for us on the very strict condition that we also bring in a young striker that may be a bit of a risk. Crespo will be cheap (probably only worth lowering the sheva transfer by about 3-4m) and is a proven serie A goal scorer in our team no less. He would pretty much guarantee around 20 goals in all comps.

However I only think he's a justifiable transfer target if we are worried about taking a risk on someone else. Torres, Tevez or Suazo for example. We must go for either 1 superstar striker or an exciting, but risky, youngster and someone cheap but with a proven pedigree.

It actually started because someone was saying that Tevez was too much of a risk for Milan to consider because he was too inexperienced and had never played in Europe. I made a comment that Tevez was three years older and a better player than Messi, who had done alright at Barcelona. That's when a couple of them started claiming that Messi was better and it deteriorated from there. There should have been no debate because at this point in their careers there really is no comparison and whether or not Messi may be better when he's the same age as Tevez is completely immaterial. In fact, Messi's age and his ability to play very well for Barcelona was the point of my assertion that Tevez is no more a risk than most. Carlitos would be the perfect acquisition to replace Sheva. Whether or not that will happen, of course, is a different story. Especially considering that the Corinthians owner claims that he wants the equivalent of 68 million British pounds for him!

Haha. Well I think that was just big talk by the owner to position himself to squeeze out as much as possible. They'd let him go for a lot less. I think Chelsea was supposed to have offered 22 for him though.

i bet a lot of people haven't seen Tevez in action. This guy is the star of south american football at the tender age of just 18. The biggest transfer ever in south american football. Voted best player in brazil even though he is an argentine.

Messi have only played a "few" games when his pace is the main attraction and not his skills. People are starting all the hype just based on a few reports/critics.

i for one would be pleased to get Tevez but not Messi.

Barcelona's Eto'o spotted in talks with AC Milan chiefs
tribalfootball.com - May 30, 2006

Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o met with AC Milan powerbrokers in Monaco on Sunday.
Cameroon ace Eto'o was in Monaco for the Formula One Grand Prix and while there he was spotted in deep conversation with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and transfers chief Ariedo Braida, says El Mundo Deportivo.

Eto'o is being considered by Milan as a replacement for Chelsea-bound striker Andriy Shevchenko.

Eto'o IMO is over-rated... he only scores alot cuz he gets a billion chances. In a match, he'll score 1 goal for every 5 chances he gets. We had BETTER not sign Drogba... he sucks something really terrible. I agree that we should sell Amoroso, buy one proven forward, one talented youngster and improve our midfield/defense(with some youth hopefully)

What about David Villa from Valencia? Finished 2nd in the goalscoring league behind Eto'o this season. Will be starting for Spain in the World Cup. He is a better buy then Tevez or Torres because he has already proven himself in Europe and in Spain.

With 35 million, I'd buy Antonio Cassano and David Suazo. In total, that would be 15 mil spent.

The rest would be used to beef up the defense. I'd insist on Gallas arriving as part of the Shevchenko deal. For 10 mil Barzagli would arrive. 5 mil would convine Parma to sell Bonera to us instead of Inter.

5 mil left over to work with. Offer 10 mil to Ajax for Maduro, whom I regard as the successor to Rijkaard. Bring Foggia back from Ascoli.

-------------------Cassano/Suazo----Gila/Inzaghi
Jankulovski/Serginho--Pirlo/Seedorf--Maduro/Ambrosini--Kaka/Foggia
-----Maldini/Favalli--Kaladze/Gallas--Nesta/Barzagli--Bonera/Cafu
--------------------------Abbiatti/Coppolla

If Crespo is going to replace Amoroso, then by all means. But, you'll never know the Milan management. We still need a younger striker that is worth the risk.
