Copa Libertadores 2004

I know that some of you are interested in this cup, right now the tournament is the group phase, here is a link in which you can check the results and standings (in spanish):
http://www.conmebol.com/scripts/runi...et+1081+2004+S

Boca Junior doesn't seems strong at this point, they lost one game against Bolivar already (3-1).
Any favorites?

i don't know. i just don't want a brazilian/argentine team to win it. don't get me wrong. i have nothing against brazil/argentina. it is just that we lost to santos in 1963, sao paolo in 1993; never won against a brazilian team; our luck playing argentine team was poor too: two loss in 1994, 2003, only one win back in 1969. i know this sounds silly, but i hope we can play a team from say, chile.

hell yeah! Vamos BOLIVAR carajo!!! we could have won by much more than that...but besides Castillo (who scored all goals) the others missed a lot of chances.

Anyway, we also lost to Cali in Colombia by the same score, it should have been a tie (1-1), but we allowed them to score twice in the last 5 minutes ...final score 3-1 for them

Favorites? Bolivar of course .....why not hope? ....our group is hard though...Cali started very well (beat us and won away against Colo Colo), Boca already won one (against Colo Colo in La Bombonera) and lost to us, we beat Boca but lost to Cali, Colo Colo lost both matches they played so far. So after each teams played one game at home and one away, standings look like this:

Cali 6 (+3)
Bolivar 3 (0)
Boca 3 (0)
Colo Colo 0 (-3)

As for the other Bolivian team, Wilstermann is doing terrible, they are technically out already as they only won 1 point in their first 3 matches. The Strongest is not doing much better, I dont see them going through to the next round....so yet again, Bolivar IS Bolivia in the Copa Libetadores

Next Copa Intercontinental: Bolivar -vs- AC Milan

!!!FUERZA BOLIVAR CARAJO!!!

The Strongest

I always thought that was a great name for a team, just out of interest are they known as that in Bolivia or do they have a Spanish name too?

That's the official name, and that's how they are known as. They are Bolivar's archrivals since both are from the same city (La Paz) and both are always in top positions.....kinda like Inter and Milan. Their nick is 'El Tigre', just like Milan's nick is 'Rossoneri'.

Don't get fooled by their name though...they are far from being the strongest team ......the strongest and the best is BOLIVAR

!!!FUERZA BOLIVAR CARAJO!!!

Once again.....next Intercontinental: Bolivar -vs- AC Milan

Holy $#!+, Mexican teams are getting tough opponents next week. First Santos faces Cruzeiro, who, if I'm not mistaken, tied last game, and America faces Sao Caetano, another tough Brazilian team.

Hey, do you guys know what the sadest thing is, Rivaldo hasn't been able to score any goals for Cruzeiro (in Libertadores, if I'm correct). If Cruzeiro beats, Santos, I want the goal to come from Rivaldo...

Regardless of America's performance in the domesric league, I see them beating Sao Caetano.

well, u wont see many goals from Rivaldo anymore as he left Cruzeiro. He left because the coach Luxemburgo was fired (or he decided to leave?) and Rivaldo also decided to leave as a sign of respect for Luxembrugo who was the one to bring him to Cruzeiro. Now Rivaldo has no club....

the second leg is on April 21st

And by the way "carajo" is a bad word.....it has nothing to do with Bolivar's name.....I just use is to put some more passion in my words
