I think Juventus would be challenging again, as well as Inter and Roma..
Juventus has a tradition of winning Serie-A, so they cannot be written off at all. Inter has got a strong squad this year and Mancini probably would be able to gel them? Anyway, Inter is still Inter, hope they won't win anything Whereas, Roma has got one of the best partnership striker in Serie-A, but once Totti is out, Roma is half-strength.Lazio and Parma has been darkhorses for several seasons and they would always be troublesome to be handled. My pick still goes to Juventus though, while Inter and Roma would fight for third place. Forza Milan!

1. Juve: Should be stronger than last year, allthough no major signings have been made. They have the tradition and may be boosted by Capellos arrival.
2. Inter: There are allways a lot of IFs surrounding Inter. IF they can gel as a team, IF their big names accept bench-roles etc, they can succeed. I do have a feeling that they will do much better than last year (no all that hard...). Their midfield and attack looks very strong. 3. Roma: May very well be as spectacular as last year in a number of games, with so much young talant in the squad. They don't have the depth to be real title contenders though. 4-6: Parma/Lazio/Udine: Can all field good starting line-ups, but lack in depth. |

I think Juve and Roma will be our biggest rivals this year.
Juve: Have been very busy this summer, Along with the aquisition of some good players, they have signed a manager with one of the most distinguished records in the history of football. The defence is looking much stronger than last season and many of the players that were weak links before have been replaced by good players. Inter: Brought in Mancini to replace Zac. Mancini is a smart manager which will definately bolster the side. Some good players have also been brought in, which on paper make them look possibly the strongest side in Italy. However, every season, Inter look like the strongest side in Italy, on paper. I expect some interesting stuff from them, but I have doubts about them being successful. Roma: One of our biggest threats imo. However, this is only if they get the signings they are expected to get this summer. They lost a world class coach in Capello and one of the worlds best defenders in Samuel. However, Prandelli has shown good coaching skills at Parma and Roma are expected to get Ferrari and Mexes (two of the most promising defenders in world football). Some important players will be lost, but if they make the right signings, they won't miss these players. Lazio: Tough one to call. I can't really imagine too much from them, but they are always a threat. Parma: I believe they will struggle. Although I doubt they will be fighting in relegation, I don't expect to see as much from them as we have in recent seasons. This is mostly due to their financial difficulties. I also want to mention Fiorentina, who I don't expect to challenge for the title, but I would like to see them do well. In the end though, its up to Milan. Our squad is probably the strongest in World football at the moment. We have a very good manager, who is tactically aware and the management of the club are excellent in their roles. In the end, we have everything we need to win and if we don't, then we won't have played to our potential. |

Agree with the themselves, have the squad to win so just need the will. Stay relatively injury free and anything is possible.
Other then Capello's arrival and the 'tradition' still not so sure about Juve, at least not at this point right now

I feel it will be Inter, they have a great squad and a manager with his head on his shoulders. They may challenge us in serie A, but I feel they will fail completly in europe.
After them I wonder if it will be Roma or Juventus, a lot may depend on how their transfer markets end up. I think both have had a bad one so far and to know that we was better than them last year and that they have only got worse so far...

Only Juve. But I agree with Triniman. If we play as we played last year there will be no rival.I give Milan a 80% chance to win the Scudetto this year. Then 20% to Juve.

Let's say that there are 4 teams that could win this year, Milan, Juve, Inter and Roma. If all had an equal chance, Milan would have a 25% chance of winning. If Milan (which I think) are twice as likely to win as the other three, then we would have a 40% chance of winning. With competition like Juve, Inter and Roma, odds of winning are rarely over 50% in any case. |

Despite what "history" says, I predict Inter will be our biggest competition this year, and will finish above Juventus. Mancini is a very good coach, probably as good as Capello, and Inter's midfield and the Vieri/Adriano upfront have all the tools to produce. Juventus may be getting "rusty" and they will miss Di Vaio - it was their mistake to let him go.
Milan should and can repeat its success providing players are well motivated and Kaka gives us the same performance as last season. One thing is sure: no one can match the Nesta/Maldini/Stam defense (the "Great Wall" would be a good name to call them), and the team has been playing well together for a couple of years now, so we are on line for a great year. |
