Books on AC Milan history?

Can anybody recommend any English books which provide information on the history of AC Milan, or even on Italian football in general?

nope, the only book i've seen recently is The hystory of Fossa dei Leoni, i will buy it in Curva for a reasonable price of 20 euros, obviously i will check it if there are stories about the ultras.
Don't know if there are any in english but there must be

Hey Giovanni, as far as I know is there a book store in the Galeria selling books of AC.
And there is also a video shop, owned by the brother or sister of Maldini where you not only can buy and rent tapes, but also books, posters and other stuff.
But I don't know where it is in Milan....

I have managed to find one book on Serie A - A Season with Verona by Tim Parks - have only read the first chapter.

But the outline of the book is a writer travelling around Italy following Verona to all the various stadium etc, it looks like it will be a good read.

In the first chapter the travelled to a game at Bari with the Brigate Gallablue (sp?)....

Any other books on Italian football in general or Milan in particular, English language will be most helpful.

Thanks

Would be great to have a good book on history of the team.

You might have heard about The Miracle of Castel Di Sangro by Joe McGinniss, it was considered a bit controversial and wasn't well recieved in Italy. He spends a season with the team in serie B and learns quite a lot about Italy and football in Italy.

I had heard of that one Razaq, have you read it and would you recommend it?

I may look it up once I finish the Verona one.

Thanks.

There was another book that I read a few years ago about a guy who followed Parma during the 97/98 season when Ancelotti was there. Similar to the Verona book I suppose. It was entitled 'Parma: A Year in Serie A', was written by Greg Burke and published by Cassell & Co. in 1998. It seemed as though the author was able to get right behind the scenes because there was some really insightful stuff about Ancelotti and his thoughts and theories. Very interesting read.

Yup. Good book, though controversial. And it was written by an Inter fan.
Though it can be said that since Castel di Sangro, Chieva and Siena have both gone one giant step further than them by gaining promotion to Serie A.

Both "A Season with Verona" and "Miracle of..." are excellent books. They sum up a lot of the internal rivalries in ITALY although some literal translations of the frequently used phrases might have been usefull. The DVD "A Century of Emotions" is also worth a watch. If you care to e-mail me I can get a copy to you before or after Killie defeat Celtic on Sunday!
