Champions League Second Round: Milan will play....

tune again on Friday to find out

as of today, there are 12 teams qualified, there is space for 4 more:

1st: Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter, Chelsea, Juventus
2nd: PSV, Barcelona, Bremen, Porto, Bayern

Groups A and B are still up for grabs, while in group D it is still unknown who is going to win it, although Man U and Lyon already qualified.

From here until February a lot can happen. Teams that are now on fire can be in a bad moment by then (i.e. Juve). While there are teams who didn't reach their full potential yet, and might do so by then (i.e. Milan ). While others suck now and will probably continue sucking by then (i.e. Inter )...anyway, as of now Bayern seems to be the hardest second placed team that we could draw. Not that we wouldn't beat them if we get them though . Starting in the second round there are no easy matches and we must beat any team that is in our way to our 7th big one.

anyway, on Friday we'll find out.....anyway, anyone up for some predictions? ......my crystal ball tells me Milan will face PSV, but then again my crystal ball also told me Inter would be our main Serie A contender this season...and well, we all know how good the Perdentis are doing

no matter who we play, there is no stoping us, that CL trophy has our name all over it

FORZA MILAN!!!

I will pick two possibilities - either Bayern or Porto.

Don't forget Real Madrid is a possibility. Actually, if I go through the pain of watching Madrid qualify to the second round, I would love Milan to encounter them, cuz I KNOW we will annihilate them for once and for all

Yeah, Madrid will be the perfect match. We'll win those games, and also kill an era of galacticos. The end of Zidane, Figo, and Carlos.
I dont want to face Arsenal or Man Utd, not because we can't defeat them. The reason is we need so many energy to focus on them, we'll slip in Copa or even worse, hunting Juve.
PSV will be ideal, not an easy game, but will heat us up for semifinal.
It will also be a good opportunity to scout Beasley, who i would like to someday play in Milan.

I don't think we can get Barca in the second round and as Valencia is out, I don't really fear any possible opposition. Real Madrid or Bayern Munchen would be better from my perspective as it increases the chances of the games being shown on TV here

As relates to Real, I really hope Rome knocks them out of the competion today. Not because I fear Real, but because I loath them.

PS. What are the rules for the draw? You can draw someone from your own country this year right?

i think the current Milan can face any other teams except for Chelsea and Barca. Both teams are really on form and we are not yet ...

not in this round, but in the quarter-finals and upwards you can.

Roma is a disgrace. Udinese can do a match better job really.

Just for fun I assigned 2 points for group winners and 1 point for runners-up. That would give the following table

England - 6 points
Italy - 6
Germany - 4
France - 4
Spain - 2
Holland - 1
Portugal - 1

Bad year for Spain anyway you look at it...

As we according to the rules can't meet Barca in the next game, I don't really care who we play in the next round.
