The Marek Jankulovski thread

Jankulovski set for Milan
Tuesday 21 December, 2004

Milan have allegedly beaten Juventus in the race to sign Marek Jankulovksi from Udinese.

Reports in the peninsula on Tuesday suggest that a deal has already been agreed between the two clubs.

The champions will sign the player in January, for around £6.5m, but allow him to remain with the Bianconeri until the summer.

That agreement suits the Friuli outfit who would like to keep the Czech ace in a bid to qualify for the Champions’ League.

Milan have decided to target Jankulovski, who was also linked with Inter, given that Serginho is likely to leave at the end of the season.

Should Jankulovski join Milan then that could in turn be bad news for newly promoted Fiorentina.

That is because Juventus would then be expected to recall the highly-rated Giorgio Chiellini.

The left-back, who was recently handed a full international cap, is currently on loan with the Viola from the Turin giants.

The Tuscan club were keen to keep him for at least another season but that may now not occur.

don't take this news less seriously..it's very likely instead

pancaro has done a good job for us, but we are going to improve something on that flank and jankulovsky would be simply pefect for that role because he can brilliantly play both as a left back and a left winger, scores goals and he's fairly young (27), already proven in serie a

obviously if he arrives, solari option will be dropped (even though i'm not sure about it)

that means our future line up will be:

Cafu---Nesta---Maldini/Stam--Jankulovsky

it'd add more quality and pace, even though we mustn't forget Kaladze is very precious and solid out there if he regains consistently the old shape as he's doing now

It would be a great signing for us. I really thought he would go to Juventus.

By the way, his name is Jankulovski not Jankulovsky..

i have been very critical of Kaladze over the past couple of seasons, Iv thought he wasnt playing nearly as well as he should have been. Against Juve i saw a completely different Kaladze, he looked very confident on the ball and just as he seemed to be looking like the Kaladze that could take the leftback postion for himself what happens, he gets injured

Eurosport.com informed today to the readers the same about this player... :

"MILAN SNATCH JANKULOVSKI"...

"Milan have beaten off Juventus in the race to snap up highly-rated Udinese midfielder Marek Jankulovski, reports suggest on Tuesday.

Italian media say the champions will sign the versatile Czech international in January for 9.3m euros, but will allow him to stay with Udinese - currently third, four points behind the rossoneri - until the end of this season.

Juve could now move for Fiorentina's Giorgio Chiellini... "

Jankulosvki has signed, it isn't a rumour. Chiellini is half owned by Juve and from I have seen of him he's no big loss. Hopefully we'll make a move for Mancini (Roma) although from what I have heard Ancelotti wants Chivu.

Gio thats terrible!! I command you to play PES this very moment!

Anyway, Jankulovski would be an interesting buy. Good player and more likely to be a squad player than regular starter. Definately possibility for the future to be LB or in midfield

He won't be a squad player, he'll go straight in at left back.

i think Jankulovski can be regular..if Pancaro made it, Marek can do it as well
Well add pace and great crosses, plus a good shooter and free kick taker, and esp a real Left footed player (although Kaladze is as well)

He fits more into attacking projects, btw i think we must take care of Kaladze which is still very young for such a club (26) and can improve

we must be honest towards Kaladze: he's been injured plenty of times, but the performance with Juve was encouraging. He will be precious in time to come

precisely my point. When Pancaro was a regular, we only really had him, Billy and Maldini. Maldini was a definate CB at that point and Billy can't handle every game of the season in that role, so really Pancaro was the only one we could use there regularly. By the time we get Marek, Maldini may play LB (thanks to a bald wall in CB ) and Kaladze should be back as well, meaning it will be much harder for Marek to get regular first team football

Marek will fit in somehow I am sure, since he can play in midfield too. He is a class player.

don't forget as herou points out that he if a great mid as well

basically we look for versatile players who can play with world class performances in many roles of the pitch..that's the extra point marek has more than solari

IMO he'll replace Serginho. Jankulovski is a versatile player, he can play as a left winger and also a left defender, a hard worker player .
