Will there be another Maradona-esque goal?

In the modern game where well organized and packed defences are commonplace and whereby space is at a premium,do you think a goal similar to Maradona's solo effort in Mexico'86 will be scored again? If so,who do you think will score it?

To clarify: you are talking about his dribble from the half way line not his disgustingly cheated handball, right? Even as an Englishman i must admit that was genius at work, even if our players were too tired to run back with him (look at Peter Reid staggering back like a man who just spent 3 weeks in ythe Sahara desert )

Weah and Ronaldo have both run from there own half past defenders to score and im sure there have been others too, I remember a George Best goal were he did something similar too (it was the last of his 6 goals in that game) he also did one in the old NASL where he went through a whole defence at walking pace, shimmying left and right before walking it into the net

I dont doubt for a second we'll see others like it in the future, in fact i think Kaka is quite capable of doing it himself

Actually Maradona dribbled past only 2 English players though you can say he "shrugged off the challenges of 6 English players including the goalie."

Maradona is the best player this world ever have seen. He came to Napoli which was a no-name club before his arrival - and with him they won it all.

Maybe Ronaldinho is the closest we will come to a new Maradona. Also Paolo Maldini explain on the officiel DVD that all the players just watched Maradona when he was warming up - as the only thing he did was playing arround with the ball and doing stuff they newer have seen.

Well George Weah has already done it for us. And in the 1994 World Cup I believe it was a player from Saudi Arabia who did this as well.
So it has been done before twice since Diego's one in Mexico.

Saeed Owairan for Saudi against Belgium, I think he got past 6 or 7, but the defenders seemed lazy to put a Challenges, but he did Michel Preud'homme who was considered to be the GoalKepper at that Time.

I liked his celebration right after. Praised God he did! Thanks for the name.

I'd give you more rep points but this thing wont let me do it for you anymore.
