Alessandro Del Piero to Milan?!?

Check this out:

http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...ia/aug20h.html

Del Piero to Milan and Cassano to Juventus? What's your opinion? I personally would have let Del Piero stay with Juventus and bring Cassano to Milan. Cassano is younger and has the best years of his career ahead of him.

I don`t see it happening(at least my crystal ball says so,joking).
Anyway,i think it`s just another of the usual media invented stories before the start of the season.I can bet that already tomorrow or very soon we`ll witness the official denial by Del Piero about it.
I can see that the public would like to see Milan giving shelter to one more `homeless` but i still think it is just a rumour.Nonetheless,if it happens,as said in the article,we`d have another forward but with different characteristics to those we already have, end of story.I wouldn`t rack my brains about this too much.

ACMILAN1983 will become famous soon enough
My opinion is pretty much the same as Dragana's (tbh, it seems to rarely differ ), as I mentioned in the Cassano thread.

However, if the deal is to take place, there are a few positives, including Del Piero's ability to bring variety to our squad which currently is dominated by "goalscoring" forwards (which Dragana has already touched on). One factor which may or may not prove valuable is Del Piero's experience at the top level and his set piece taking, which is very good.

However, personally, I think Cassano would be a better acquisition for the long term, though I still have some worries over his mentality/attitude.

What are you guys talking about ?!?! Cassano is a destructive force and has the complete opposite mentality to the kind that exists at Milan. Especially considering Ancelotti's no-nonsense coaching approach, Cassano would only distrupt the chemistry at Milan.

Though i recognize the need for a defined leader on the pitch; to prevent such events that we have seen such as la couruna, and istanbul. Cassano is not the answer to these problems.

In Del Piero you have a nice guy A vetern who can inject pace into our left midfield - a less defensive alternative to seedorf.

Though for all my positive feelings toward a possible Del Piero move to Milan i really don't see it happening. Firstly Juve are going to want an enormous amount of money for their captain- more than Milan will want to spend. Secondly the Milan organization are an objective bunch and probably prioritize a move for a right back rather than another attach minded player. Finally age, wages, and shere enormity of such a move make this move highly unlikely even taking into consideration Juve's tendency to sell their stars as they age Milan would not fork over the cash or player's to make such a deal possible.

thanks for listening ---- by the way i'm new, HI EVERYONE !!!

To tell you the truth I would rather have Alex at Milan than Cassano. Perhaps it is the former's unassuming disposition or the latter's unchecked excesses, but I suspect sentimentalism does have something to do with it.

Del Piero is class and notwithstanding his age and a dodgy knee, he would be a fantastic solution to our 4th striker injury problem. The dimension he adds to the game is indeed significant.

Also think about our contribution to the Italian national team (which is noticeable already). Del piero to Milan? I would welcome him with open arms.

Methinks, though, tomorrow's press will be laden with disclaimers.

hassan i don think its going to benefit the azzurri if we have del piero, vieri and gila. i`d much rather see del piero get playing time with someone else.

he was a genius but then his injury curtailed his magic. he is no longer the player that was so feared in europe and around the world. in recent years hes seen more as a laughing stock with press alike stating that hes more of an advantage to the oppostion than he is with us.

besides money spent on cassano could be recouped if we dont want him, ala owen of madrid.

Fair enough. I am well aware of Del Piero's dramatic dip in form. But don't you think Cassano can be a detriment.

Let's put it this way: a Del Piero who labours is better than an Inzaghi who is perpetually injured.

Similarly, a Cassano who brings with him promise but also attitude is better off in the black and white.

i think cassano has the potential to be a legend at Milan because he will have superlative role models to look up at our club. Milan have an uncanny ability to get rid of players with poor attitude fairly easily so the moment he starts showing it, Milan could EASILY sell him off to any club in the world.
